Every Philly neighborhood to receive another deep clean by February

Citywide Cleaning Program to Roll Out in Phily Neighborhoods by February

Over 200,000 projects completed under the program since its inception last year. The city's latest 13-week cleaning cycle kicked off Monday in Northeast Philly, targeting River Wards next and Northwest Philly later this month. By late December, crews will be in West Philly, followed by Center City, South Philly, and North Philly in early January.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Office of Clean and Green Initiatives, has seen impressive progress since its debut last spring. More than a dozen agencies are working together to tackle quality-of-life issues, including litter removal, graffiti eradication, and maintenance of SEPTA stations and schools.

Residents can track project updates online and submit specific cleanup requests. The program aligns with the city's fall leaf recycling initiative, which began Monday and runs until December 20. Leaf collection centers are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, while drop-off points are available at select locations.

Key highlights of the citywide cleaning program include:

* Removal of trash from over 50,000 blocks
* Repair of 12,500 potholes
* Clearance of 32,500 vacant lots
* Installation of LED lights in 43,616 locations
* Eradication of graffiti in 13,713 areas
* Removal of 6,867 abandoned vehicles
* Cleaning of 672 school facilities

The program's goal is to increase regular cleanings in each neighborhood.

Just got the scoop on Philly's citywide cleaning program ๐Ÿšฎ๐Ÿ’š and I'm STOKED! 200k+ projects completed last year? That's insane! ๐Ÿคฏ They're planning a new 13-week cycle, so let's keep it clean, Philly! ๐Ÿ˜Ž Did you know they're also installing LED lights in over 43k locations? That's some serious tech love ๐Ÿ’ก. And, yay for residents who can track updates online and submit cleanup requests! ๐Ÿ“Š Who's with me on keeping our neighborhoods fresh & clean? ๐Ÿ’š

I'm all for the city cleaning up its act ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’ช, but can they get their own website and forum together? Like, I was trying to check out the latest updates on this initiative and it took me like 5 minutes to find the info I needed because the categories were all jumbled up. And good grief, why do we need to submit specific cleanup requests online? Can't we just call a number or something?

I'm also kinda curious about how much of that "impressive progress" is actually measurable. Like, yeah, 200k+ projects completed sounds awesome, but what's the actual impact on the community? Are people noticing a difference in their daily lives? And what's with all the LED lights and graffiti eradication stats? Sounds like they're trying to impress us with numbers rather than just getting the job done.

I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on this program and see if it actually delivers. Fingers crossed for Philly ๐Ÿคž

idk about this citywide cleaning program... sounds like a lot of hype ๐Ÿค”. they're saying over 200k projects done since last year but what's the actual cost? who's paying for all these cleanup efforts? and how much trash is being removed from those 50k blocks anyway? we need to know more about the scope of this program, not just spin it as a feel-good story ๐Ÿ’ธ. also, have they considered hiring more local workers or giving contracts to small businesses instead of big corporations? ๐Ÿค

Umm... I'm not sure if this citywide cleaning program is a great idea ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, it's awesome that they're trying to tackle quality-of-life issues like litter and graffiti - I mean, who doesn't love a cleaner Philly? ๐Ÿ˜Š But on the other hand, are we really going to have 13 weeks of cleaning every year? That sounds kinda excessive to me... ๐Ÿคฏ Like, can't we just have regular cleanings instead of an annual cycle? ๐Ÿšฎ And what's with all the LED lights installation? Are they just trying to be all eco-friendly or something? ๐Ÿ’ก I mean, I get it, energy efficiency is important, but do we really need 43,616 new light installations? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Man, I'm loving the citywide cleaning program! It's like, totally reminiscent of when they used to have those Neighborhood Watch programs back in the day ๐ŸŒƒ... you know, when everyone looked out for each other and kept the streets looking sharp? ๐Ÿ˜Š

It's awesome that over 200k projects have been completed since last year, and now they're expanding it to all neighborhoods. I'm just hoping they don't forget about the tiny streets in Fishtown like they did back in 2018 ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... remember when they left those streets all dirty and neglected? Anyway, I guess progress is progress, right? ๐Ÿ’š

I also love how residents can track updates online and submit cleanup requests. It's so cool that they're making it easy for people to get involved and take pride in their community. Maybe this will be the start of a new trend... like when we used to have those community clean-up events at the park every summer ๐Ÿž๏ธ... good times!

OMG u guys ! ๐Ÿคฉ I'm super hyped about the citywide cleaning program rollin out in Philly neighborhoods by Feb! ๐Ÿ’ช It's amazing that over 200k projects have been completed since last year, and they're still goin strong! ๐Ÿšฎ The city's comin together with more than a dozen agencies to tackle quality-of-life issues like litter removal & graffiti eradication. That's what I call teamwork! ๐Ÿ‘ซ

I love how residents can track updates online & submit specific cleanup requests. It's so easy for us to get involved & make our neighborhoods shine. ๐Ÿ’ก The fact that they're alignin' this with the fall leaf recycling initiative is genius too - we gotta reduce waste & keep our cities clean!

Let's keep pushin' for a cleaner Philly, fam! ๐ŸŒŽ Every small step counts, and I'm excited to see what's next for this program. Keep it up, city! ๐Ÿ’•
