Ex-gambling bosses facing UK criminal trial lose civil case against regulator

Two prominent figures in the UK's gambling industry, Kenny Alexander and Lee Feldman, who are set to face criminal charges of bribery and fraud, have seen their civil lawsuit against the Gambling Commission dismissed. The pair, known as "King Kenny" and a key figure at Entain, had accused the regulator of breaching their right to privacy.

The dispute centered on the Gambling Commission's intervention in Entain's failed bid to acquire 888, an online casino company. When the regulator informed 888 that it would be reviewing its license due to concerns over Alexander and Feldman's past roles at Entain, the pair sued the commission, claiming a breach of their right to privacy.

The issue at hand was whether the commission had revealed too much information about the review process in a statement to the market. The regulator argued that the release of this information was necessary for regulatory purposes. However, a High Court judge ultimately rejected this argument, ruling against Feldman and Alexander.

As a result, the pair will have to pay the Gambling Commission's costs, which could be substantial. The commission welcomed the decision, stating that it vindicated its actions in taking steps to ensure the integrity of the gambling industry.

Alexander and Feldman are facing 11 charges each, with their trial set to begin in 2028. They have vowed to appeal against the High Court's judgment, but for now, they will be left to ponder the consequences of their failed lawsuit.

🤔 this whole thing is kinda wild, you know? these two guys were basically saying that the Gambling Commission was being too nosy about their past dealings with Entain, and now they're getting roasted for trying to play victim... like, didn't they just try to strong-arm the regulator into not investigating them in the first place? 🤑 anyway, it's not like I condone bribery or fraud or anything (not even a little bit 😅), but sometimes you wonder if people are more worried about their own skins than doing what's right... and now they get to pay for the commission's costs, that's got to hurt 💸

🤔 So I'm thinking, it's gotta be tough for Kenny and Lee, facing all these charges and having this civil lawsuit dismissed... 🚫 It's like, they went up against a powerful regulator in the UK's gambling industry, and they just got pwned 😅. But at the same time, I feel for them - they're basically saying that the commission overstepped its bounds by releasing info about their review process... 🤝 And from what I've read, it sounds like the judge agreed with them on that point. So maybe there's hope for them yet? 😊 Still, I gotta wonder how this whole thing will play out in court... 11 charges each, that's a lot to handle 💪.

can you believe these guys got caught red handed? I mean, "King Kenny" and all that drama... they thought they were above the law just 'cause they were in the gaming industry 🤦‍♂️. But seriously, this is a huge deal - not just because of the charges, but also how it affects the whole industry. The commission got vindicated and now they can finally crack down on people who try to game the system 💪. It's all about accountability, right?

🚨 OMG I'm SHOOK by this news! Like, can't believe "King Kenny" and Lee Feldman are getting roasted 🤦‍♂️ in court. Their whole thing was that the Gambling Commission breached their right to privacy, but it turns out they were just trying to hide something 🤑. The judge is like, "Nope, you gotta spill the tea, guys". And now they're gonna have to pay all those costs 🤑... talk about a costly mistake! I'm low-key impressed that the commission stood strong and defended their integrity 💪. Can't wait to see how this whole thing plays out in 2028 🤔

omg what a rollercoaster life for these two lol 🤯 i mean who tries to sue the regulator over privacy and ends up losing 😂 and now they gotta pay costs which is like, a whole lot of dosh 💸 anyway guess it just goes to show that you can't mess with the system and get away with it 👀 especially in the gambling industry where integrity is key 🔒 so here's hoping they take the L and learn from it 🤓

Omg I'm so confused about this whole thing 🤯 like what even is bribery and fraud? And why did these two guys think it was a good idea to sue the Gambling Commission over privacy? 🤔 I mean, I get that they didn't want their personal info shared with the market, but doesn't that go with the job description? 💁‍♀️ Like, you're in a sensitive industry, just deal with it? 🙄 And now they gotta pay all this money back to the commission... ouch 😩

I don’t usually comment but... I think this is a pretty clear case of regulatory bodies doing their job and holding people accountable for their actions. The Gambling Commission was right to step in and review Entain's bid to acquire 888, especially given Kenny Alexander and Lee Feldman's past roles at the company.

It's weird that they were trying to claim a breach of right to privacy when they're the ones who were accused of doing shady stuff 🤔. I mean, what's the point of having regulations if people can just game the system and expect to get away with it? The fact that they lost their lawsuit and have to pay costs is a good lesson for anyone who thinks they can skirt around the rules.

It's also interesting to see how this case has affected the industry as a whole 💸. I hope that this kind of scrutiny continues, even if it means some people get hurt in the process. It's all about maintaining integrity and trust in the industry, right?

🤔 This whole thing just smells like a setup to me... I mean, what's really going on here? The Gambling Commission is always supposed to be looking out for our best interests, but this time it seems they're more interested in protecting their own backsides. 888 was getting ready to merge with Entain, and then the commission swoops in and tries to shut down the deal? It's like they were trying to keep some big player from dominating the market... and now these two guys are paying the price for speaking out against it. I'm not saying Kenny Alexander and Lee Feldman did anything wrong, but this whole thing just looks like a classic case of the establishment trying to silence whistleblowers. 🤑

🤑 The whole thing reeks of dirty laundry and I'm low-key surprised it took this long for someone to call them out on it. Like, "King Kenny" and Lee Feldman were basically making a power play trying to stifle Entain's takeover bid and now they're facing the music 🎶. It's funny how their own right-to-privacy lawsuit just got tossed like yesterday's trash by a High Court judge 👮‍♀️. Guess the real winners here are the fans of fairness and transparency in the gaming industry 💪.

I don't usually comment but... this whole thing just seems fishy to me 🐟. I mean, these two guys are already in hot water with 11 charges and a trial set for 2028, but then they try to sue the Gambling Commission over their right to privacy? It just doesn't add up. The commission was doing its job by investigating Entain's bid and it seems like they were being transparent about it. I don't get why Feldman and Alexander thought this was an issue 🤔. Now they're paying the commission's costs, which is probably a hefty sum... 😬

🤔📈 So I'm following this drama between Kenny Alexander and Lee Feldman, and it's just wild how things went down. They were all like "Hey, we're gonna sue the Gambling Commission for sharing info about our past dealings" 🤑, but in the end, the High Court judge was all like "Uh no, you breached your own trust" 😅.

I think it's pretty shady that they were trying to claim their right to privacy when they were essentially trying to strong-arm 888 into not reviewing Entain's bid. It's like, if you're gonna do something sketchy in the industry, don't be surprised when people want to take a closer look 🕵️‍♀️.

The fact that they have to pay the commission's costs is just icing on the cake 💸. And now they've got 11 charges against them, with a trial in 2028? That's gonna be a wild ride 🎢.

OMG you guys 🤯 can u even imagine if these two were to get off scot free? I mean i know they're rich and all but come on! The Gambling Commission got it right this time 👏 11 charges each is a lot of drama and now they gotta pay the costs lol. What's next for them tho? 🤔

Wow 🤯 this is some crazy stuff going down in the UK's gambling industry! I mean, these guys were basically saying that the regulator was overstepping its bounds by releasing info about their past roles at Entain... but a High Court judge wasn't having it 😂 Interesting how they're gonna have to foot the bill for the commission's costs now... 11 charges each is some serious business too 🤔

This whole thing is a classic case of "who's on first?" - who's got the power, who's got the money, and who's going to get away with it? 🤑 I mean, these two guys were so caught up in trying to protect their own interests that they didn't even bother to think about the bigger picture. The real winners here are the taxpayers, who'll be footing the bill for the Gambling Commission's costs - a perfect example of how the system is rigged against the little guy. 🤦‍♂️ And let's not forget, this is just another case of the powerful trying to cover their tracks and avoid accountability. I'm not surprised they're going to appeal - it's all about maintaining the status quo. The question is, who's got the guts to stand up to them? 🤔

I THINK IT'S REALLY WEIRD THAT THESE TWO GUYS WHO ARE ACCUSED OF BAD THINGS CAN'T JUST SUE THE GAMBLING COMMISSION FOR BREAKING THEIR PRIVACY RIGHT BUT NOW THEY'RE THE ONES WHO HAVE TO PAY THE COMMISSION'S COSTS! IT JUST FEELS LIKE THE SYSTEM IS A LITTLE BIT FUNNY AND I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE I'M JUST NOT UNDERSTANDING HOW IT WORKS 😊

🤔 I gotta say, this whole thing is pretty wild. So these two guys, Kenny and Lee, were basically accusing the Gambling Commission of being all nosy and violating their right to privacy... but it turns out the judge was like "nah, you guys just got caught up in some shady dealings". The fact that they tried to sue the commission over this is kinda laughable, considering how many other issues they're facing on their own.

I mean, it's not like the commission was trying to hide anything from them. It was all about transparency and regulatory oversight, which is what you'd expect from a reputable organization like the Gambling Commission. The fact that they were able to prove this in court is pretty reassuring for anyone who cares about fair gaming practices.

Now, I know Kenny and Lee are gonna try to appeal and all that, but at the end of the day, it's hard not to feel a little bit sorry for them. They're facing some serious charges and now they've got a huge bill to pay in court costs. Guess you could say their lawsuit was a losing bet 🤑

🤯 I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... it just goes to show how corrupt some people can get. I mean Kenny Alexander and Lee Feldman were basically caught red-handed bribing people to get what they wanted, and now they're trying to sue the Gambling Commission for doing their job? It's like they thought they could just waltz in and manipulate the system whenever they pleased. And now they have to pay for it... not that I'm saying they shouldn't, but still, it's a bit rich coming from people who were involved in all this shadi stuff in the first place 😂.

I cant even believe what happened here 🤯... Back in my day, we used to think that regulators like the Gambling Commission were there to help, not hurt, businesses. Now I'm seeing these high-flying executives getting taken down for trying to sweep some shady stuff under the rug 😬.

I mean, come on, they thought suing over a right to privacy? That was just ridiculous 🙄. The commission did what it had to do to keep the industry in check, and now it's backfiring on these two blokes. I'm not saying they're innocent, but this whole thing smells like a setup to me 💔.

It's a shame that they're gonna have to pay those costs too - must be a real kick in the teeth for them 😂. Guess you could say justice has been served... and it's about time! 👏

🤔 just think about it, who really cares about the two blokes getting taken down a peg? i mean, they were already big shots in the industry and had the audacity to go after the regulator... anywayz, 11 charges each is no joke, hope they're prepared for a wild ride 🚀
