Exclusive | Meet NYC’s hardest workers on Thanksgiving — like the Macy’s parade costume queen, whose day begins at 2:30 AM

These NYC workers are literally giving it their all for Thanksgiving 🙌. I mean, have you ever thought about what goes into organizing a parade? Or feeding hundreds of people on the cheap? It's not just about the turkey dinner, it's about creating memories and bringing communities together. And that Kimberly Montgomery is my hero! 2:30 AM prep work? That's dedication 💯. And Marty Rogers' volunteer team is doing the same for their neighbors. It warms my heart to see people looking out for each other like this 🙏.

I think it's so cool how they get everyone together on Thanksgiving... 🤩🎉 4k people at Macy's parade alone is crazy! I mean, what would happen if Kimberly Montgomery didn't show up?

And those volunteers at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church are literally angels... 40 turkeys and all that food for free? How do they even do it?

I love how Fariyal Abdullahi just wants people to feel cared for on Thanksgiving... ❤️ That's so beautiful. I wish more chefs could be like her, making everyone feel special.

can't believe how underappreciated these folks are lol 🤷‍♀️ they're literally running around like headless chickens on Thanksgiving day and nobody gives them a shoutout 📢 i mean, kimberly montgomery is like the real MVP 🙌 all that prep work for the parade without any recognition or reward? give her a raise already 💸 and marty rogers is doing it all out of love, no questions asked ❤️ those free thanksgiving dinners are basically community service at its finest 🤝

Come on... 2:30 AM for the parade? That's crazy! I mean, I get it, someone's gotta make sure everything runs smoothly, but can't they just prep earlier or something?

And, yeah, Fariyal Abdullahi's story is cool and all, but I'm not buying that she's a "culinary school dropout" like the article says. You don't just pick up skills like that overnight. She probably had to put in years of hard work before becoming an exec chef.

Marty Rogers' Thanksgiving dinner initiative sounds awesome, though! It's great to see people coming together for the community. And, 47 years is no joke, he must be exhausted by now.

I'm kinda surprised they didn't mention the actual workers who make the parade floats happen. Those guys are literally the real MVPs (most valuable participants?). Just saying...
