Dude, I'm still not convinced about this whole 'holiday cheer' thing


. On one hand, it's awesome that high-income folks are splurging like champs, but have you seen the state of the average joe's finances lately? $2.58% hourly wage growth is NOT exactly setting my spirit free, and credit card debt is a major bummer

And don't even get me started on AI ruining jobs

. I mean, I'm all for progress and innovation, but at what cost? Small businesses are already struggling to stay afloat, and now they're relying on holiday sales to survive? It's like the whole 'gift of giving' thing is just a fancy way of saying "we're trying not to lose our shirt"

I know some people might say it's all about perspective, but from where I'm sitting, this holiday season looks more like a "meat-and-potatoes" affair rather than the usual 'festive frenzy'
