Feeding Tampa Bay leans in to help during ‘Kindness Day’

Tampa Community Steps Up with Feeding Tampa Bay on 'Kindness Day'

In a show of generosity and compassion, the Tampa Bay area came together to support Feeding Tampa Bay during WFLA's Kindness Day. The non-profit organization, which has been working tirelessly to provide food assistance to those in need, was at the forefront of this year's event.

According to Feeding Tampa Bay CEO Thomas Mantz, the partnership with WFLA has been instrumental in collecting a significant amount of donations for the charity. "It's hard to imagine how much food has been collected," he said. "This has been a terrific partnership between us and the station."

The donation drive, which took place on Friday, Dec. 5 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., provided an opportunity for anyone in the community to contribute, whether it was a small or large amount.

Mantz emphasized the importance of Kindness Day, stating that "it's about the generosity." He noted that Feeding Tampa Bay has been ramping up its efforts to help families in need, particularly during difficult times such as the government shutdown.

"Challenges in our neighbors' homes are greater today than they were a year ago, two years ago, even five years ago," Mantz said. "Getting involved and connected with our neighbors, especially on Kindness Day, makes it easier to cover more needs that may be overlooked."

Mantz's message is clear: kindness matters. "Let's be kind to each other. Let's make sure we look after each other. You know, make your community better for you being in it," he said.

The impact of this year's Kindness Day event will be felt by Feeding Tampa Bay and the families they serve. As Mantz so aptly put it, kindness can have a profound effect when done collectively.

idk why ppl r always makin a big deal outta kindnes day its just 1 day a yr where ppl give back to charity lol some ppl might think its all about the money but honestly its about showin the people who need it that we care 🤑

🤩 I love how the whole Tampa community came together to show some serious kindness! Feeding Tampa Bay is an amazing org that does so much good work, and it's awesome to see people from all walks of life coming together to support them. 🙌 The fact that WFLA partnered with them on Kindness Day just shows you how far a little bit of media love can go in making a difference. 💕 And let's be real, who doesn't need a reminder that kindness matters? 🤗 It's so easy to get caught up in our own stuff and forget about the people around us, but this event is like a big ol' slap on the wrist from Mother Nature saying "Hey, pay attention!" ☀️ Anyway, I'm all for it! Let's keep spreading that kindness and making our communities better places to live. 💖

🤔 I'm actually pretty stoked to see people like them coming together in the community. It's heartwarming to know that there are still good souls out there willing to lend a helping hand. Feeding Tampa Bay is doing some amazing work and it's awesome that they have WFLA on board for support. 🎉 The fact that thousands of pounds of food were collected in just one day is pretty incredible. It's also nice to know that the CEO, Thomas Mantz, is passionate about highlighting the importance of kindness in our daily lives. 👍

OH MY GOSH!!!! 🤩 I'M SO INSPIRED BY THE TAMPAN COMMUNITY FOR COMING TOGETHER LIKE THIS!!! 🙌 IT'S AMAZING TO SEE PEOPLE ACTUALLY CARING ABOUT EACH OTHER AND MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS. FEEDING TAMPA BAY IS DOING SUCH GREAT WORK AND IT'S REWARDING TO SEE THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTING THEM LIKE THIS!!! ❤️ I THINK KINDNESS DAY SHOULD BE EVERY DAY, YOU KNOW?! 🤗 WE COULD ALL USE A LITTLE MORE OF THAT IN OUR LIVES! 😊

Ugh 🤕 just saw that 500k people are currently without power in Florida due to the winter storm 🌨️ poor timing for Kindness Day, am I right? 🤦‍♂️ at least Feeding Tampa Bay got some support from WFLA, but it's just not a perfect solution. Did you see the pics of the homeless ppl freezing on the streets? ❄️ not exactly what 'Kindness Day' is supposed to be about...

omg i love how the whole Tampa community came together to support Feeding Tampa Bay on Kindness Day 🤩💖 its so inspiring to see ppl look out for each other, esp during tough times like the gov shutdown 😊 mantz is totally right, kindness matters & it can literally make a huge difference in someone's life 👍

🤝 Seeing all these good vibes around Tampa is really inspiring, fam! It got me thinking, what if we all just decided to be more kind to each other every day? 🌎 No need for some big event or charity drive, just being considerate and helping those in need can make a huge difference. We should start small too, like holding the door open for someone behind you or offering a smile to a stranger. That's what Kindness Day is all about – it's not just one day, but a mindset shift. 💡 So let's take the lessons from this event and make kindness a part of our daily lives. We got this! 🌈

I gotta say, this whole Feeding Tampa Bay thing reminds me of the whole 'social safety net' debate 🤔. It's like, we're talking about government programs here, but in reverse - instead of taking from the rich to help the poor, it's a community coming together to give back.

And let's be real, this is what happens when people feel connected to their neighbors 🌎. We've got politicians going on and on about 'small government' and 'limited intervention', but what about all the times when we need each other most? When families are struggling to put food on the table, that's when community comes together.

It's interesting because Feeding Tampa Bay is basically a microcosm of our society 🌈. We've got people from all walks of life coming together, donating their time and resources. It's like, what would happen if we applied this kind of collective kindness on a national scale? 🤝

I'm so glad to see people comin' together like this 🤗! Feeding Tampa Bay is doin' such amazing work, helpin' out all those families in need, and WFLA's Kindness Day event was just the push they needed 💪. It's heartwarming to see a whole community come together for a good cause. I mean, who doesn't love a good ol' fashioned food drive? 🍴 And it's not just about throwin' some money at 'em, either - it's about takin' the time to care and look out for one another ❤️. Back in my day... well, we didn't have all these fancy events like this, but we still found ways to help those in need without bein' told to 🤷‍♀️. I just wish more people would take notice of what's goin' on and lend a hand whenever they can 🙏!

😊🤗 OMG I'm literally SO inspired by this!!! 🙌 The whole Tampa community came together to help out Feeding Tampa Bay on Kindness Day?! That's like, the ultimate display of human kindness 🤝! I mean, can you even imagine if EVERYONE did this kind of thing? It'd be a GAME CHANGER 💥! And Thomas Mantz is so right, kindness does matter. We need more people like him spreading love and positivity wherever they go ❤️. I'm literally getting chills just thinking about it 😍...

OMG u guys! 🤩 I'm literally in awe of the ppl in Tampa right now! OMG, I'm literally SO touched by the outpouring of love for Feeding Tampa Bay! 🤗 It's amazing to see the community come together like this, especially during difficult times. I mean, who doesn't need some extra food and support? 🍴❤️ The stats are insane too - 1000s of lbs of food collected is no joke! 🤯 Let's keep spreading kindness and being there for each other, that's what it's all about 😊

🙏 I think its awesome how the community came together to support Feeding Tampa Bay on 'Kindness Day'. Its like when you see people from all walks of life putting aside their differences and just focusing on helping each other out. The fact that they were able to collect so much food is just incredible, I mean we're talking hundreds maybe thousands of pounds of stuff right here 🍔🍟🍣.

I think its also really cool how Feeding Tampa Bay has been trying to make a bigger impact in the community, especially during tough times. Like when there's a government shutdown or something, its easy for people to get caught up in all that drama and forget about those who need help most. But not these guys, they're out here making sure everyone is fed and taken care of ❤️.

And I gotta say, the message of Kindness Day really resonates with me, you know? Its like, we're all in this together, and when we show kindness to each other, it can make a real difference. So lets keep doing what these guys are doing and spread some love around here 🌈💖!
