Fire safety inspections lapsed for years at Swiss bar where 40 died in New Year's blaze

man that's just so tragic 40 people dead in one night is crazy can you imagine what it was like for their families? I remember when my grandma passed away, it was a huge deal and everyone was affected by it...anyway back to this bar, seven years without fire safety inspections? that's insane, I mean even if they had good intentions, something could've gone wrong. and those sparkling candles, who thought that was a good idea? at least the authorities are taking steps to prevent something like this from happening again though, banning fireworks indoors is a good move...but still, it's just so sad for all those families

OMG this is so crazy like what kinda management lets a bar go SEVEN YEARS without fire safety checks?! I mean, they gotta have known something was off, right? And those sparklers just waited for someone to put 'em near a flame... it's a recipe for disaster!

I'm glad the authorities are on top of this and taking action, but like, what about all the ppl who could've gotten hurt because some incompetent managers didn't do their job properly? It's just not fair. And now they're banning fireworks indoors? that's a no-brainer

this is so crazy - 7 years without any fire safety checks? that's like leaving your home with no smoke detector or no working exit doors... how can you not have those checks when there's always a risk of something going wrong? and now people are dead because of it . the fact that they were using candles in a bar, of all places, is just ridiculous. who does that?! anyway, i'm glad authorities are finally taking action and banning fireworks indoors - at least that way we know there's some common sense being applied. regular inspections are a good start too, but let's make sure these things get done every year, not just a few times like last time
