Football transfer rumours: Chelsea to bid £44m for Rennes' Jérémy Jacquet?

Chelsea are reportedly set to make a £44 million bid for Rennes centre-back Jérémy Jacquet, with the 20-year-old already piquing the interest of several Premier League clubs.

The Blues' pursuit of Jacquet comes at a time when injury woes have left them short on defensive options. Levi Colwill and Tosin Adarabioyo's injuries have created an opportunity for Chelsea to strengthen their backline, and they may be willing to splurge on the talented young defender.

On the other hand, Burnley are offering James Ward-Prowse a way out of Nottingham Forest, where he has found himself struggling under Nuno Espírito Santo. The former England midfielder could provide the experience Scott Parker needs at West Ham.

In a transfer market that's full of twists and turns, Napoli is set to make a move for Brighton striker Evan Ferguson, who is currently on loan with Roma. However, the Italian club may need to offload Noa Lang before making a deal for the 20-year-old Irishman.

Meanwhile, Arsenal midfielder Oleksandr Zinchenko has cut short his loan spell at Nottingham Forest and is set to join Ajax for the remainder of the season. The Ukrainian international has reportedly fallen out with Nuno Espírito Santo's tactics.

Everton could be offering right-back Nathan Patterson a chance to escape from his struggles in Goodison Park, while Leeds United are closing in on Werder Bremen midfielder Romano Schmid. The Austrian midfielder is said to be worth around €15m.

🤔 Chelsea think they're the only ones who can fix their defense issues? £44 million for a 20-year-old center-back seems steep, don't you think? They should focus on developing their youth team instead of breaking the bank for an unproven player... 👀

Chelsea's interest in Jérémy Jacquet is super intriguing, don't u think? 🤔 like, the dude's already getting scouted by multiple Prem clubs, it says here 📊. They're really shoring up their defense w/ this youngblood, hope they can make a big impact! 💪

🤕 just when you thought it was safe to go back in the transfer market... Burnley want to get rid of James Ward-Prowse, who's been struggling at Nottingham Forest 😔 meanwhile, Napoli might try to make a move for Evan Ferguson, but only after getting rid of Noa Lang 🙄 and Chelsea are about to spend £44 million on some 20-year-old French centre-back Jérémy Jacquet... like, what's next? 🤷‍♂️

I'm loving this transfer window so far! It's gonna be interesting to see how it all unfolds 🤔💸 Chelsea definitely need some fresh legs in their defense, and if they can get Jacquet on board for £44 million, that'll be a steal 💪. But Burnley are trying to offload Ward-Prowse? That's an interesting move... does he have what it takes at West Ham? 🤷‍♂️ Meanwhile, Napoli is sniffing around Ferguson, and Roma needs someone like Lang to get rid of before making a deal for the Irish youngster 🔍. The Zinchenko situation is weird though - was his loan spell in Nottingham really that bad? 👀

omg I'm so down for some new defensive additions at Chelsea 💡🔒 especially with Levi and Tosin out injured 🤕 Jacquet seems like a great signing, 44 mil is steep tho 😳 Burnley's offer to Ward-Prowse is weird, thought he was solid @ Nottingham Forest ⏰ Napoli going after Ferguson makes sense, Roma is playing him too much I guess 💥 Arsenal finally moved Zinchenko away from that toxic forest situation 🚫 and now Leeds are closing in on Schmid? Werder Bremen is like who? 😉

I'm not sure about Chelsea making a £44 million bid for Jérémy Jacquet... seems like a lot of money for a 20-year-old defender who's already piquing interest from other teams 🤑. Don't get me wrong, the kid's got talent and all, but 44 mil is just crazy talk 💸! Burnley trying to offload Ward-Prowse seems like a good move, though - he'd be a great addition for West Ham 😊. Evan Ferguson's transfer to Napoli might happen, but only if they can get rid of Noa Lang first 🤔... Napoli's got some weird transfer business going on this season!

Just seen this transfer news and I think Chelsea gotta make that move for Jacquet ASAP 🤩! Their defense has been a mess lately and adding a young, talented defender like him could give them the boost they need to stay competitive in the league. Plus, £44 million is still pretty reasonable considering how good he's been so far 💸. And I'm surprised Burnley are willing to let Ward-Prowse go, maybe Scott Parker can work some magic with him 😏. Anyways, it'll be interesting to see what happens with Napoli and Brighton's deal for Ferguson... fingers crossed they don't mess this up 🤞

I'm so hyped about Chelsea's potential move for Jacquet!!! 44 million pounds is a LOT of cash, but that kid is a defensive rock! 🤩 I mean, he's already getting interest from top Premier League clubs, and Rennes needs the cash lol. And honestly, with Levi and Tosin injured, it's high time for Chelsea to splash some serious money on defense. Can you imagine how good they'd be if Jacquet joins the squad? ⚽️ I'm all for a strong backline at Stamford Bridge! 💪

heard that napoli's after evan Ferguson, think that's a good move for the lad, been watching him at brighton and he's got some serious skills 💡. don't know much about noa lang but if they have to sell one of their players to get Ferguson it'll be worth it

I'm loving the way teams are trying to strengthen their squads 🤩! It's crazy how injuries can create openings for teams to splash some cash around 💸. I think Chelsea's bid for Jacquet could pay off, he seems like a talented young player who could make a big difference in their backline 🛡️.

I'm also intrigued by the move from Nottingham Forest to West Ham with James Ward-Prowse 🔄. He's got loads of experience and could bring some stability to Parker's team. And what's up with Napoli trying to get Ferguson? I love his style on the pitch, he's always been a bit of a diamond in the rough 💎.

As for Arsenal cutting short Zinchenko's loan spell, that does seem like an odd move 🤔. I've never been a huge fan of their tactics anyway 😒. And Everton offering Patterson a chance to escape? That's got to be good news for him 🙌!
