Friends, family of Linda Brown establish advocacy program, GoFundMe following her death

Linda Brown's loved ones have taken a tragic loss to create a lasting legacy by launching an advocacy program for families navigating missing persons cases. In honor of their beloved teacher, who died by suicide earlier this month, her niece Jen Rivera has established the Reignited Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing guidance and support during these difficult times.

The Linda Brown Advocacy Protocol is designed to bridge the gaps that many families face when dealing with missing persons cases. The program will focus on four key pillars: preparedness, early-stage family guidance, media and search education, and collaboration and systems-level growth.

The initiative aims to equip families with the tools, resources, and expertise needed to navigate these complex cases. Currently under development, the program will release its materials, educational resources, and tools in phases as they are completed.

Linda Brown's family has also set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the remaining funeral and memorial expenses. The campaign has already raised over $4,000 of its $5,500 goal, with loved ones donating to support their efforts.

As the family mourns the loss of Linda Brown, they are finding solace in creating a lasting impact that will honor her memory. "Losing Linda has been devastating," says the GoFundMe page. "It's hard to put into words how heavy these weeks have been emotionally, mentally and physically."

A memorial service was held for Linda Brown on Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. at the Blake & Lamb Funeral home in southwest suburban Oak Lawn.

The launch of this advocacy program is a testament to the power of love and resilience in the face of tragedy. It will serve as a beacon of hope for families who are struggling to cope with the loss of a loved one, providing them with the support and guidance they need during an incredibly difficult time.
