'Game of Thrones' Will Get a Proper Sequel, Eventually

HBO's Game of Thrones plans a proper sequel, and it's finally time to move forward from past glances at its history. In an event in Iceland attended by fans of Los Siete Reinos, show creator George R.R. Martin revealed his intention to develop spinoff projects that'll bring closure to the series' storylines.

According to Martin, HBO is on board with his plan to create a sequel series, but it seems there's been some setbacks in the past, like cancelled Arya and Jon spinoffs. Nevertheless, he teased recent interest from Maisie Williams about another potential project centered around her character.

Martin has previously discussed several other spinoff projects set within the Game of Thrones universe, including Aegon the Conqueror, Corlys Velaryon's Nine Voyages animated series, a prequel focused on Queen Nymeria, and even a movie. However, it remains to be seen whether these plans will come to fruition.

It appears HBO is employing a strategy of releasing multiple spinoffs in an attempt to fill the void left by the original series' conclusion. But has the show's fanbase fully moved on from their discontent with the ending? Only time will tell if Martin's next projects can address lingering concerns and revive interest in the beloved franchise.

As for now, it seems HBO is ready to take Game of Thrones in a new direction. With several spinoffs already in development, fans can look forward to seeing what Martin has planned for the future of Westeros.

๐Ÿค” I'm not sure if they're ready to move on just yet... I mean, those last few episodes were super divisive and left a lot of people feeling, well, let's just say underwhelmed ๐Ÿ˜. It'll be interesting to see how George R.R. Martin tackles the fan concerns with these new spinoffs. A sequel series is always a good idea, but we've been promised this before... it's gotta deliver this time ๐Ÿคž. I'm curious about Maisie Williams' character project tho - could be some awesome stuff! But have they even thought about the timeline? How will all these new shows fit into the existing history of Westeros? That's a big question mark for me ๐Ÿค”.

so they're finally gonna try again ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ... like we haven't been waiting for ages for George R.R. Martin to get his act together ๐Ÿ˜’. i mean, it's great that Maisie Williams is still on board, but let's be real, Arya was her character and she needs closure too ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. and yeah, HBO trying multiple spinoffs at once... sounds like a solid plan to confuse the fans even more ๐Ÿคฏ. can't wait to see how they're gonna address all the plot holes from the original series... fingers crossed it's not just a rehashing of old stuff ๐Ÿค”. anyway, bring on the new Westeros adventures! ๐Ÿ‘‘

just hope these spinoffs don't feel like cashing in on the GoT name ๐Ÿค‘ meanwhile, it's interesting that they're focusing on releasing multiple shows at once... might be a way to keep the franchise fresh ๐Ÿ“บ think it's also cool that Maisie Williams is getting another chance with Arya - fingers crossed she'll finally get some closure ๐Ÿ’–

๐Ÿคฃ finally something new about GoT, and it's not just a rehashing of old memes... George R.R. Martin is actually serious about this time, no? I mean, we've heard rumors for years now, but at least he's giving us some actual details ๐Ÿ“ฐ. Those cancelled Arya spinoffs were a letdown, I was really hoping to see more of her adventures beyond Winterfell โ„๏ธ. Maisie Williams' enthusiasm is definitely a good sign, though - fingers crossed she'll be back in the game (pun intended) ๐Ÿ‘€. It's also interesting that HBO is trying out this multiple spinoff approach... can they make it work? ๐Ÿค”

I'm so stoked that they're finally moving forward with some actual plans ๐Ÿคฉ! I've been waiting for ages to see what George R.R. Martin's got cooking, and it sounds like he's got some crazy ideas ๐Ÿ’ฅ. Maisie Williams' potential project about Arya is super intriguing - I need more info on that ASAP ๐Ÿ˜. It's also kinda weird that HBO's trying to fill the void with multiple spinoffs, but if they're gonna make them good, I'm all for it ๐Ÿค—. One thing I am curious about though, is how Martin's gonna wrap up the remaining storylines in a way that'll satisfy us old fans who were left feeling kinda frustrated with the original series' ending... fingers crossed he's got something special planned ๐Ÿ”ฎ!

I'm kinda excited about this news ๐Ÿค”... think it's been a while since we've heard anything concrete about Game of Thrones spinoffs. Maisie Williams' potential project sounds interesting, especially if it's centered around Arya - that character's story didn't get the closure I wanted either ๐Ÿ˜. But at the same time, have to wonder what took HBO so long to get on board with Martin's plans ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ... all these spinoffs and prequels can be a bit overwhelming, especially if they're not well-received by fans. Think it's safe to say there are still some lingering concerns about the original series' ending that need to be addressed ๐Ÿค”. Still, gotta keep an open mind - George R.R. Martin has always been known for taking his time and doing things right... so maybe these spinoffs will finally give us the closure we're looking for ๐Ÿ’ก

omg I'm so hyped! finally something new from GOT ๐Ÿ˜Š I was super disappointed with how it ended and it's about time they made some changes ๐Ÿค” like Maisie Williams is already on board, that's a great sign ๐ŸŽ‰ can't wait to see what Aegon the Conqueror project looks like ๐Ÿ‘‘

Ugh ๐Ÿ™„ I'm so tired of all these spinoff projects! Can't they just leave it alone? I mean, I know some people were really invested in the original series and still are, but come on... how many more times do we need to revisit the same characters and storylines? ๐Ÿ˜’

And don't even get me started on Maisie Williams' potential spinoff ๐Ÿค”. I love Arya as much as the next fan, but can we just have some closure already?! It feels like HBO is just stringing us along at this point. ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ

That being said... ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ if George R.R. Martin has a solid plan and HBO is on board, maybe it'll work out. But I'm keeping my expectations low for now ๐Ÿ˜. Can't wait to see what they come up with though! ๐Ÿ‘€

I'm so hyped about this news!!! ๐Ÿคฉ I've been waiting for ages for some closure on the Game of Thrones storylines and it sounds like George R.R. Martin is finally ready to move forward with his plans. Maisie Williams' enthusiasm for another Arya project is a great sign that fans are still invested in her character! ๐Ÿ™Œ I'm all about seeing more of the Nine Voyages animated series, too - Corlys Velaryon's adventures sound epic! ๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™‚๏ธ I'm a bit curious to see how HBO plans to address the lingering concerns about the original ending, but I trust Martin to do it justice. Can't wait for these spinoffs to start coming out and seeing what Westeros has in store for us next! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

๐Ÿค” OMG, I'm so stoked to hear that HBO's got some real plans for a sequel series now! I mean, we've been left hanging on so many unanswered questions since the original series ended and it's been pretty frustrating not knowing what happens next with our fave characters. Maisie Williams' involvement is a good sign too, fingers crossed that Arya gets her due justice in whatever project she's part of ๐Ÿ™. I'm also really excited to see how George R.R. Martin brings these spinoffs together - he's got such a knack for world-building and storytelling! ๐Ÿ“š The fact that HBO is pushing multiple projects at once might be a bit overwhelming, but if they're all solid like the original series, then I'm 100% here for it ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Ugh, I'm still trying to process how far behind we are on this Game of Thrones sequel ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. I mean, I get it, George R.R. Martin is a mastermind and all that jazz, but can't he just give us some closure already?! It feels like we've been stuck in limbo for ages with these endless spinoffs and whatnot.

And don't even get me started on the state of our forum ๐Ÿคฃ. I swear, it's like nobody remembers the good ol' days when we could actually have a decent discussion without someone spamming "I still love Jaime" or whatever nonsense ๐Ÿ˜’. Now it's all just a bunch of noise and fan wars.

Anyway, back to Game of Thrones... I'm both excited and skeptical at the same time ๐Ÿค”. Maisie Williams is getting involved, which is cool, but can they actually deliver on these spinoffs? I need some answers, HBO ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. Fingers crossed they don't make me wait another 10 years for anything concrete ๐Ÿ˜ฉ.

I'm so down for more GoT ๐Ÿคฉ! I mean, I was super invested in the original series, but that ending just didn't sit right with me either... all those loose ends and unresolved storylines ๐Ÿคฏ. If they're gonna make spinoffs, I hope they address some of the issues we had back then. Like, what's up with Daenerys' sudden change? And don't even get me started on the whole Bran thing ๐Ÿ™„. But hey, Maisie Williams is on board for another Arya project? That's a solid start! Can't wait to see where these new projects take us. Maybe it'll be a chance to explore some of the wilder corners of Westeros' history too... like Aegon the Conqueror?

Yooo, I'm still trying to get over how Game of Thrones ended ๐Ÿคฏ... I mean, I know it's been years since it was cancelled but like, some of us are still bitter about it ๐Ÿ˜’. But hey, if George R.R. Martin is serious about creating more content that'll give the fans closure, I'm all for it ๐Ÿ’ช. Maisie Williams' potential new project sounds interesting, though - we need to know what's gonna happen to Arya ๐Ÿค”. And omg, an Aegon the Conqueror show? That would be EPIC ๐Ÿ‘‘! Fingers crossed that HBO knows how to revamp the franchise without messing it up too much... can't wait to see what they come up with next ๐Ÿ˜Ž

idk about this, tbh i was really upset with how it all ended ๐Ÿ˜• but at the same time, george r.r. martin is super passionate about his work & thats cool ๐Ÿค“ so if he's gonna do a sequel series that brings closure to some of the storylines i might actually be down for it ๐Ÿ’ก Maisie williams seems like a solid pick for another project too ๐Ÿ‘€ but we'll just have to wait & see how it all plays out in the end ๐ŸŽฌ

omg i cant believe its finally happening ๐Ÿคฉ game of thrones was literally my childhood so i have a lot invested in this show and i have to admit, the ending kinda left me hangin ๐Ÿ˜” but if george r.r martin is gettin back on the horse with some new spinoffs, idc what they are about, i'm down ๐Ÿคฏ especially if it means more of that epic fantasy world we all fell in love with. dont @ me, i know the ending was whack, but cmon fans can move on right?
