Here's How Every Dead & Company Member Has Honored Bob Weir

Bandmates, friends and fellow musicians pay tribute to the late Bob Weir with heartfelt statements.

John Mayer, a longtime collaborator and friend, remembered Weir as "a little brother" who inspired him. He praised Weir's musicality, saying that his chord choices were unique and influenced other musicians like Jerry Garcia. Mayer concluded by expressing his affection for Weir, writing "If you say it’s not the end, then I'll believe you."

Oteil Burbridge, bassist of Dead & Company, reflected on his relationship with Weir, describing their bond as "self-identification." He noted that Weir felt most at home when playing music and played an incredible number of live shows. Burbridge expressed gratitude for Weir's generosity and mentorship.

Mickey Hart characterized Weir as a lifelong companion who was both a friend and musical partner. He cherished the harmonies created by Weir, citing their significance in shaping his own solos. Hart confessed that he misses Weir dearly, feeling "lost" without him.

Jay Lane, drummer of Dead & Company, expressed his gratitude to Weir for giving him a chance at stardom. In an emotional post, Lane wrote, "Good morning its day one AB," reflecting on the bittersweet nature of Weir's passing.

Jeff Chimenti, keyboardist and fellow bandmate, reflected on the magnitude of Weir's impact. He praised their musical partnership and shared memories, describing him as a "brother" who welcomed him into his world 29 years ago.

As the music world mourns Bob Weir's loss, his bandmates and friends continue to celebrate his legacy through heartfelt tributes.

.. it's crazy how one person can leave such a huge void in our lives. I mean, think about it - these guys are mourning the loss of not just a musician, but a friend and brother figure πŸ€•... what does that say about us as humans? We form these deep connections with people, and when they're gone, it's like a part of us is gone too πŸ’”. I wonder if Weir's passing is making them re-evaluate their own priorities and make the most of every moment... maybe that's the real legacy he leaves behind πŸ™. It's hard to put into words how something like this can impact someone's life, but it's clear that Bob Weir was more than just a musician - he was a connection to something bigger ❀️.

I'm really bummed out about Bob Weir... :( πŸ€• He was like a musical ninja - always popping up with those unique chord choices that made you go "wow". I mean, Jerry Garcia was lucky to have him as a bandmate! πŸŽΈπŸ‘Š The way his music makes me feel is like... have you ever been on a road trip and the whole world just feels right? That's what Bob Weir's music is all about 😊

I drew a little diagram of a guitar with a big heart in it to represent how much love and respect we should be sending out to this amazing musician 🎸❀️

Anyway, it's clear that he had a huge impact on all the people around him... and we're still feeling his music. So let's keep making some beautiful noise in his honor! πŸŽΆπŸ’«

I'm like super bummed that everyone's making such a big deal about Bob Weir's passing πŸ€•... I mean, he was an okay musician, but not THAT iconic or influential, if you ask me 😐. The fact that people are saying he inspired other musicians like Jerry Garcia is kinda overrated - anyone can play the guitar and write songs, right? 🎸 And what's with all this "he felt most at home playing music" stuff? Like, yeah, who doesn't feel at home when they're doing something they love? It's not that deep πŸ’”. I'm just glad he's gone and we can all take a break from his music now... πŸ™„

idk why everyone's making such a big deal about Bob Weir passing away... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ like, sure he was an amazing musician and all, but I'm not losing sleep over it lol. I mean, have you seen the lineup of Dead & Company live? John Mayer's vocals can barely keep up with Oteil Burbridge's bass lines πŸ˜‚. And let's be real, Weir's guitar riffs were always a bit... basic 🎸. Don't get me wrong, he was a legendary musician and all that jazz, but I think his bandmates are just trying to save face after 29 years of him being the star of the show 🀩.

<3 just saw this and its getting me all emotional thinking about weirs amazing career πŸŽΈπŸ•Ί... he was such an inspiring musician and his influence on the jam band scene cant be overstated 🀯 i mean john mayer calling him a little brother says it all - weir had that kind of impact on people's lives πŸ’–

anyway, im loving all these tributes from his bandmates its clear how much they admired & loved him ✨ like otiel burbridge saying their bond was self-identification feels so true... and mickey harts harmonies with weir are just pure magic 🌊

πŸ€• just saw these tributes to Bob Weir and it got me thinking... how many of us can say that our favorite musician inspired a new generation of musicians like Jerry Garcia? Mayer said it best - "If you say it's not the end, then I'll believe you." still feels weird saying goodbye to someone we loved live music forever lost without Weir πŸ˜”

Man, I'm still trying to wrap my head around this... like, Bob Weir was such a huge part of Dead & Company and Grateful Dead, you know? 🀯 It feels weird that he's really gone. I mean, I grew up listening to those guys, and Jerry Garcia always seemed like the rockstar, but Weir was like the heartbeat of the band. Oteil Burbridge made me realize how much Weir meant to him too... they were like two peas in a pod or something. 🀝 It's crazy that we'll never get to see them play live again. I'm going to go listen to some Grateful Dead right now, probably "Dark Star" or "Truckin'". Those are my jams 😊

just saw this thread about bob weir and i gotta say, it's crazy how much he meant to these guys... like, john mayer calls him a 'little brother' - that's so deep. and otel burbridge's bond with weir is literally self identification or whatever that means 🀯. anyway, weir was definitely the heart of dead & company (and the grateful dead lol). i'm not even a huge fan of the grateful dead, but it's clear how much weir's music touched people

omg i'm literally dying over here 😭🎸 just thinkin bout all these iconic guys payin tribute to bob weir is like... wow 😍 john mayer callin him "a little brother" gives me chills 🀯 oteil burbridge's statement about their bond bein like "self-identification" is so deep πŸ™Œ and mickey hart missin weir like crazy is feelin my vibes πŸ’” jay lane's post tho... still gettin chills πŸ˜πŸ’• can't believe it's day one without him πŸ‘‹

omg i just found out about bob weir passing away πŸ€•πŸ˜’ its so sad he was such an iconic musician i loved jam band era music and dead & company is still one of my faves 🎸 i remember watching them live with my friends back in college those shows were always unforgettable weir's guitar riffs are still giving me chills to this day πŸ˜‚ his legacy will live on thru his music and the memories we shared with him ❀️
