How a Red-Light Hat Gave Me My Healthy Scalp Back

I've been struggling with trichotillomania, or hair-pulling disorder, for two decades. A bad reaction to a cheap shampoo at 15 triggered it, and I've battled bald patches ever since. My scalp is super sensitive and prone to breakouts and itching, which makes me reach for my hair out of habit.

So, when I was offered the chance to try HigherDose's Red Light Hat, I jumped at it. The hat uses a single wavelength of light – 650 nanometers of red light – to increase blood circulation to the scalp, which can lead to decreased hair loss and optimized hair follicle function. Sounds too good to be true? Well, I've been using it for months, and while I wouldn't call myself cured, my sensitive scalp hasn't had any bad reactions.

In fact, I've noticed fewer itchy spots and a decrease in the urge to pull at my hair. My hairstylist has also commented on how much healthier-looking regrowth I'm getting, with no signs of damage from my pulling habit. It's not a magic fix, but it's a game-changer for someone like me who's struggled with this issue for so long.

The hat is basically like a normal baseball cap with 120 medical-grade LED bulbs arranged in a circle to deliver the light therapy. You wear it for 10 minutes a day for 16 weeks straight to see results, and HigherDose recommends using it at least three to four times a week to maintain the benefits after finishing the initial treatment.

One of the things I love about this hat is how discreet it is – you can barely tell it's lit up while I'm wearing it. The battery pack on the back is easy to remove, and there's even an adjustment strap in case you need to customize the fit. It's designed to be worn out in public without drawing attention.

Using the HigherDose hat also reminded me of using an infrared brush. Both help lock in moisture, but with different effects. My hair felt a bit oily after using the hat, which is something I've experienced when wearing infrared brushes. Still, it's nice to know that there are products out there that can tackle this issue.

The results are pretty impressive – just look at my before-and-after photos! As soon as I started using the HigherDose hat, my scalp seemed happier, and my hair began growing in healthier-looking regrowth sections. It's hard to say for certain whether the treatment itself is responsible for the growth or if it's just helping my scalp recover from years of damage, but either way, I'm thrilled with the results.

Of course, there are no guarantees with any product, and individual results may vary. But as someone with a sensitive scalp who's struggled with this issue for so long, I've been really happy with how HigherDose's Red Light Hat has helped me.

I don’t usually comment but the fact that this thing actually works is kinda amazing 🤯. I mean, I can relate to having bad hair days and scalp issues – my sister’s always complaining about dandruff 😂. But seriously, using a light therapy hat for 10 minutes a day sounds like it could be game-changing for people who suffer from trichotillomania like this person.

I don’t know how much it costs to get one of these hats or if it's even worth the investment, but if it really helps someone feel more comfortable in their own skin, that’s all that matters 💖. And the fact that it doesn’t look too weird while you’re wearing it is a major plus 👍. It’s always cool to see innovative solutions for everyday problems 🤔.

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to deal with trichotillomania, that must be super hard to live with 😔. But the fact that you're seeing improvements after using this Red Light Hat is defo a game-changer! The design of it is also so clever, I love that it's discreet and doesn't draw attention away from your face or style 🎩. And it's cool that it's helping with scalp sensitivity and breakouts too, that must be a huge relief for you 💆‍♀️. I'm definitely gonna keep an eye on this brand, thanks for sharing your experience! 👍

I can imagine how frustrating it must be to deal with trichotillomania for two decades 🤕💇‍♀️. The idea of using a hat that emits red light to stimulate blood circulation and promote hair growth is definitely interesting 🌟. I'm glad to hear that it's helped you see improvements in your scalp sensitivity and hair regrowth 💆‍♀️. It sounds like the hat is pretty discreet and comfortable to wear, which is a big plus 👍. One thing that stands out to me is how much of an impact this treatment can have on someone who has struggled with this issue for so long 🤝. It's always exciting to see innovative solutions for chronic conditions! 💡

😔 The world just got a bit more depressing... another person finding some kinda solution to their hair-pulling disorder 🤕. Sounds like it might actually work, but we'll have to wait and see if it's just a temporary fix for everyone else struggling with the same thing 💔.

OMG u no i was reading about dis trichotillomania thingy 🤯 and it sounds super frustrating lol i mean my hair can get kinda annoying sometimes too but not like that much 😅 but seriously how does dis red light hat work tho? is it like a mood ring for your scalp or somethin 🌡️ i feel like i need to try it out for myself 🤔

I gotta say, using that Red Light Hat thing sounds like a total game-changer for people struggling with trichotillomania 🤯 It's crazy to think about how something as simple as wearing a hat can help with hair growth and scalp sensitivity. I mean, it's not like a magic cure or anything, but the fact that it's worked for this person is super promising 💡

I'm also loving the design of the thing - it's so discreet you'd never even know it was on 🙌 And the idea that you can wear it out in public without drawing attention is genius 😂 I've gotta try one of these out for myself, especially since I've been struggling with scalp issues myself (dryness and irritation from shaving 🧔).

The thing that's keeping me from getting my hopes up too high though is that individual results may vary... you know how it goes 💁‍♀️ People might get different results depending on their skin type, hair growth rates, etc. But overall, I think this is a solid product that could really make a difference for people struggling with trichotillomania 👍

I mean, it sounds kinda sketchy that they're selling you something with LED lights and expecting you to wear it for hours on end every day. I'm sure there's some fancy science behind it, but what if it just makes your scalp itch even more? Or what if it's just a placebo effect and you started feeling better because you believed you were gonna feel better? And don't even get me started on the fact that they're charging top dollar for this thing. It's probably just some gimmicky marketing nonsense designed to separate people from their hard-earned cash 🤑

I feel like we can all learn from your story 🤔. It's amazing that you finally found something that helps manage your trichotillomania. The fact that it doesn't have to be invasive or harsh on your skin is super empowering. For me, it's a reminder that sometimes the smallest changes can add up and make a big difference in our lives. We shouldn't be too proud to try new things and seek help when we need it – you've shown us that even 20 years into struggling with an issue, there's still hope 🌱.

I gotta say, I'm low-key impressed by this red light hat thingy 🤯. I mean, my mom had to deal with those awful stress-induced hair loss issues back in the 90s 💇‍♀️, and it was super annoying. But using some fancy lamp in a baseball cap? That's like something out of a sci-fi movie! 😂

Anywayz, it sounds like this thing really works for people with trichotillomania like you 🤗. I'm not surprised, tho - all those LED lights are supposed to be pretty intense 🔦. But what's even more cool is that it's discreet and comfortable enough to wear out in public 👕.

I can see why you'd want to try this, especially if you've been dealing with hair-pulling disorder for two decades 😳. That sounds like a real challenge 💪. So yeah, I'm all about giving this thing a thumbs up 🤚... even if it's not a magic cure-all or anything 💫.

Oh, and one more thing - can we get some of these hats on the market ASAP? My aunt's been struggling with hair loss too, and this would be like, totally amazing for her 😕.

🤔 This red light therapy thing is actually kinda interesting! I mean, I'd never heard of it before, but if it can help reduce hair loss and promote healthy regrowth, that's a total win for people like you who struggle with trichotillomania 💁‍♀️. The fact that it's discreet enough to wear out in public is also super convenient – I've tried other treatments that are just too flashy or obtrusive 🙅‍♂️.

I can see how the increased blood circulation could be beneficial for sensitive scalps, especially when combined with other treatments like infrared brushes 💆‍♀️. And hey, if it's helped you notice fewer itchy spots and a decrease in hair-pulling urges, that's a huge deal 🎉! Of course, individual results may vary, but I'm glad you're seeing positive changes – keep rocking that red light hat! 👏

OMG u guyz! 🤯 i think higherdose red light hat is literally a game changer 4 ppl w/ trichotillomania like me!! 💖 i've tried everythin from hair masks 2 infrared brushes & nothin worked till i got this thing. it's so discreet n easy 2 use, even my hairstylist said my regrowth looks healthy nd nice! 👍 the only downside is ur hair can get oily after wearin it, but im willing 2 deal w/ that 4 the benefits. the results r amazing & i feel like a whole new person! 🌞

omg 16 weeks of wearing a hat on your head is commitment 💁‍♀️😂 i feel like the only thing that could make it worse is if you had to wear it while watching netflix or something 🤣 but seriously though, glad to hear it's helping you out! those before-and-after pics do look impressive tho 📸

I'm still waiting for companies like these to make their devices more user-friendly! Like, why do we need an adjustment strap just because the fit is supposed to be customizable? Can't they just make it so that the hat sits comfortably on your head without needing extra tweaking? 🤔 And don't even get me started on the battery life - 10 minutes a day for 16 weeks? That's like, forever! 😴

I totally feel you, girl 😩. I had some issues with eczema back in the day and my grandma got me these cool LED face masks that were supposed to help. They worked wonders! It was like a mini-vacation for my skin 🌸. And now hearing about this Red Light Hat thingy is giving me hope for you too! I've noticed how much of a difference a good skincare routine can make on my aging skin 🤯. Maybe there's some similar magic happening with your scalp? It's awesome that you found something that works for you and it's not a total game-changer 💖. Keep rocking that hat and showing the world your gorgeous, healthy hair 💁‍♀️!
