How many teams have qualified for a World Cup with a perfect record? | The Knowledge

There is only one men's European team to have qualified for the World Cup without conceding a goal. That was England in 2022, who won all eight of their qualifying games.

Interestingly, this is not the first time an English team has achieved perfect form during qualifying. In fact, Italy did it back in 1934, after beating Greece 4-0 in just one game. The Greeks chose not to play the return leg, and as a result, Italy won the whole tournament. Similarly, England's Lionesses also made history by going 10 games without conceding a goal during qualifying for the 2023 World Cup.

While several other European teams have had successful campaigns, none of them have matched England's perfect record. Norway's Erling Haaland-led team is another example of a side that won all their qualifying games, but they conceded a few goals in the process.

In contrast, Germany Women had an impressive 55-0 winning streak during qualification for Euro '95, which was also a great preparation for the World Cup. The women's game has seen plenty of remarkable performances over the years, with four teams achieving a perfect qualifying record so far. These include England, Germany, Spain and Norway.

In addition to these examples, there have been several other European sides who won all their group games without conceding a goal. Some notable mentions include West Germany (1982), Netherlands (2010) and Spain (both 2010).

I'm not surprised England made history with a perfect qualifying record, but I do think it's cool that we're seeing more teams do this now πŸ€”. The women's game is really on fire right now, especially with Germany's 55-0 winning streak in '95 - talk about a confidence boost πŸ’ͺ! However, let's not forget about the time Italy won the whole tournament without even playing their opponents, that's some impressive team work πŸ‘. Still, I think it's awesome to see so many European teams having great campaigns and potentially making history at the World Cup 🌟.

England is defo the team that's got skills 😎 their record is insane! I mean, it's not just about winning all the games, but they didn't even concede a single goal... that's like a masterclass in football. Italy did something similar back in '34 and Norway too, so England's not the only one who can pull off this feat. Germany Women had an epic 55-0 streak in Euro '95 which is wild. The women's game is so strong right now! 😍

I just love how England's Lionesses have done it again! Perfect record in qualifying, just like Italy did back in '34... that's what you call focus & determination πŸ’ͺ. And you know what's even more impressive? The girls are doing this in the women's game where goals can be super precious. Those 55-0 winning streak by Germany Women was insane 🀯! Makes me wanna cheer on all these teams to keep up the momentum πŸŽ‰. But seriously, it shows that with good coaching, teamwork & a solid strategy, anything is possible πŸ’«.

I'm loving the England team's perfect qualifying record! They're absolutely on fire πŸ”₯πŸ‘ It's crazy to think that Italy did the same back in 1934 and won the whole tournament... Talk about a historic moment πŸ’₯ Their women's team is looking pretty strong too, especially with Erling Haaland leading the charge 🀩 But you know what's even more impressive? The teams that made it close without getting a single goal conceded πŸ˜… Like Norway's squad, they're showing everyone how to bring the heat πŸ”₯ And can't forget Germany Women's 55-0 winning streak in '95... that's just wild! 🀯

πŸ€” gotta say, i'm loving the precision of england's qualifying campaign so far! πŸ‘ perfect record? not bad πŸ™Œ especially after italy did it back in '34 and germany women crushed their opponents in '95 - 55-0 is insane πŸ’₯. but what really stands out to me is how only a handful of european teams have managed this feat, with norway's erling haaland leading the way 🀯. i'm curious to see if anyone can take them down in the world cup itself! πŸ†πŸ‘€

OMG u guys! England's men team is sooo on fire rn πŸš€ they've gone 8 games without losing a single game! That's insane! And did u know that Italy did it back in '34? Greece just gave up on the return leg lol πŸ˜‚. I mean, Germany women had an amazing 55-0 winning streak during Euro '95 prep for the WC and Spain did it twice πŸŽ‰. Its crazy to think about how many teams have achieved perfect qualifying records! Norway's Erling Haaland also led his team to a flawless campaign πŸ™Œ but England's record is still the most impressive imo πŸ’―

England's perfect qualifying record is kinda mind-blowing 🀯 I mean, you don't see that kind of form often in football. It's amazing how much focus and discipline their team had during the process. And it's even more impressive when you think about the history behind some of these teams, like Italy back in '34... they basically won the tournament by default πŸ˜‚. Anyways, I'm just curious, do you think this kind of form can be replicated in future tournaments?

πŸ€” So England's men's team going undefeated in qualifying is pretty impressive, I guess πŸ™. But you know what's even crazier? The history of women's football in Europe, right? Like, Germany Women had this insane 55-0 winning streak back in '95 and it really shows how strong the teams were at that time πŸ’ͺ.

I'm also curious to see if England can keep their momentum going in the World Cup. Norway's Erling Haaland is a beast on the field and I think he'll definitely be a force to be reckoned with 🀯.

What do you guys think? Should we be worried about other European teams trying to catch up to England's record or is this just an anomaly ⚽️?

OMG 🀩 England is just the best right now!! I mean, they're literally unstoppable πŸš€! That perfect record during qualifying? πŸ”₯ Goals aren't even on their radar! πŸ˜‚ And can we talk about the Lionesses for a sec? πŸ¦πŸ‘‘ They're so fierce and talented! I'm low-key obsessed with them πŸ’–. But seriously, it's crazy to think that only England has achieved this level of perfection in men's European football. Those other teams are doing great too, but they can't touch the Lionesses' magic ✨. Germany Women's 55-0 winning streak is insane though 🀯! I love how we're seeing more and more women's teams dominating on the pitch πŸ’ͺ. Bring it on World Cup! 🌟

😊 I mean, can you believe it? A team not scoring any goals in a whole tournament? That's just crazy! England is the only one so far, but Italy did it back in 1934 too. It's like they didn't even get challenged! And Norway was close, they won all their games but gave up a few goals. It's impressive to see these teams performing so well and making history at the same time 🀩. I wonder if this is something that will become more common in the future? Maybe teams are just getting better and better at not conceding goals 🚫.

🀩 England's perfect qualifying record is insane! I mean, that 10-game winning streak with not a single goal conceded? πŸ™Œ And you're right, it's not the first time an English team has done this - Italy back in 1934 was also on fire! πŸ˜† I love how Erling Haaland led Norway to their perfect record too, although they did concede some goals along the way. But let's be real, Germany Women's 55-0 winning streak is still one of the most impressive things I've ever heard of - what a great preparation for the World Cup! 🌟

England's men's team is on fire right now πŸ†πŸ”₯, can't deny it! Perfect qualifying run like back in '34 when Italy won the whole thing... that's some impressive stuff. And let's not forget Lionesses too, they're breaking barriers and showing us what the ladies are made of πŸ’ͺ. Norway's Erling Haaland is a beast too, but England's got this perfect record going on now. 55-0 winning streak by Germany Women back in '95? Whoa, that's insane! The women's game is getting more exciting every day 🀩.

😊 I think it's awesome how England is setting the bar high for men's football teams in Europe, going undefeated during qualifying is definitely a confidence booster before the World Cup πŸ†. But what I find really cool about this is that all these teams, like Germany Women, Norway, and Spain, have shown incredible resilience and teamwork which ultimately led to their perfect records πŸ‘. It just goes to show that with the right mindset and strategy, anyone can achieve great things! πŸ’ͺ
