Microsoft founder Bill Gates has broken his silence on his close ties to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, expressing regret for ever knowing him. The billionaire acknowledged that he had "foolishly" spent time with the financier, who was recently found dead in prison while awaiting trial.
According to an email exchange from 2013, Epstein claimed that Gates contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD) from unnamed Russian girls and requested antibiotics to give to his ex-wife Melinda French Gates. However, Gates' office denied these allegations, stating that they were false.
French Gates publicly called on her ex-husband to answer for his ties to Epstein, urging him to be transparent about their relationship. She stated that she was not responsible for addressing the issue, rather leaving it up to those involved and even her ex-husband.
In an interview with Australian news outlet 9News, Gates acknowledged the false nature of the email claims. "Apparently, Jeffrey wrote an email to himself. That email was never sent," he said. "I don't know what his thinking was there. Was he trying to attack me in some way? Every minute I spent with him, I regret and I apologize that I did that."
Gates denied ever visiting Epstein's residence in the U.S. Virgin Islands or engaging in any form of sexual activity with the women present on the island. He stated that his time spent with Epstein was a "mistake" but insisted it had no bearing on his behavior.

bill gates finally spoke out about his ties to epstein and honestly its a shame he took so long to do it... like i get it ppl make mistakes but this one kinda hurt a lot for melinda french gates & her fam 
the way epstein manipulated situations like that email exchange was super sketchy... & now we know he just wrote it to himself 
bill gates is right tho, every minute he spent with epstein r a huge regret... can't say im surprised tho, ppl who prey on others like epstein deserve our disdain 
I'm still trying to wrap my head around this one... I mean, Bill Gates is a good guy right? He's done so much for philanthropy and tech 
... but then you find out he was buddies with Epstein... and it's just weird. Like, what was going on in his head? 
And the email thing? Yeah, that's some crazy stuff... I don't know if Gates is being entirely honest about everything. 
My grandma always said you should never judge a book by its cover, but this one's got me like "judge the whole life"

Bill Gates is owning up to being blind to the red flags around Epstein. I'm not buying that email thing was a joke... 
. But for real though, it's pretty weird that he spent so much time with someone who was basically a convicted sex offender

i always knew bill gates was like the OG rich guy but this is crazy! so he just got caught up in jeffrey epstein's orbit and now he's like "oops I regret ever knowing him" lol I feel bad for his ex-wife melinda tho, she's been hollering at him to spill the tea on their complicated relationship. anyway, bill g's explanation of what went down is pretty wild - apparently epstein sent an email to himself with false claims about contracting an STD from russian girls 
i'm just glad bill g is owning up to his mistake and taking responsibility for it. still weird that he's only speaking out now that more info is coming out tho 
I'm not surprised to hear Bill Gates is speaking out now. He should've done so years ago, considering all the rumors & whispers around him & Epsteins friendship
