Ireland v New Zealand: Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke return for All Blacks

New Zealand Head Coach Scott Robertson has handed Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke a recall for Saturday's Autumn Nations Series Test against Ireland at Soldier Field in Chicago.

The All Blacks are looking to rediscover their spark this autumn, but Robertson is wary of the challenge ahead. "There's more margins," he said. "There's a referee's call or a second effort or a bounce of the ball that's gone either way." Despite the Kiwis' impressive Rugby World Cup quarter-final win in Paris last year under Ian Foster, Robertson insists his team do not have an edge over Ireland.

The two teams have a long and storied history, with Ireland having beaten New Zealand four times since their historic 2016 victory in Chicago. The All Blacks are well aware of the challenge ahead, but Robertson is confident that his side will be on their best. "You expect the best of them," he said. "We've got to be on our best on the day."

Barrett returns at fly-half after missing the final Rugby Championship game against Australia with a shoulder injury. His brother Jordie Barrett starts alongside him, while Scott Barrett is also in the starting lineup.

Winger Caleb Clarke also misses out due to an injury but will replace Damian McKenzie off the bench. Leinster-bound centre Rieko Ioane does not make the matchday squad, according to Robertson who believes that a hard team to pick requires a constant effort.

In contrast, Ireland's squad is filled with experience and form, as they look to build on their win over Australia last season. The stage is set for an intense battle between two of rugby's top teams, and fans are eagerly anticipating the match at Soldier Field in Chicago.

Man, I'm so hyped for this game! ๐Ÿคฉ The All Blacks need a win badly to get back on track, and Beauden Barrett's return is a huge boost. Those two brothers are like magic on the field together ๐Ÿ˜Ž. But Ireland's squad looks super solid too, they're gonna give it their all for sure ๐Ÿ’ช. I'm loving how Scott Robertson's being honest about the margins, you can tell he's not taking anything for granted ๐Ÿ™. And Soldier Field in Chicago is gonna be electric, can't wait to see the boys in action! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Ugh I dont no how these All Blacks keep gettin 2nded by Ireland ๐Ÿ˜ฉ... I mean, Beauden Barrett & Caleb Clarke r back in the squad now, but I still think they gotta step up their game ๐Ÿค”. Those Irish lads r always so consistent & well-prepared, u know? The Kiwis r lucky to have made it that far in the World Cup last year ๐Ÿ†... but Robertson's like "we don't got no edge over them" ๐Ÿ˜’, what's wrong mate? Can't see how they're gonna beat 'em w/ their current squad ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Leinster-bound Rieko Ioane missin out too? That's a big loss for the All Blacks... they need all the experience & skills they can get ๐Ÿ’ช. Bring on Saturday, I'm excited to see these two teams go head-to-head! โšก๏ธ

I'm thinking about this Autumn Nations Series... ๐Ÿค”

Imagine a Venn diagram with two overlapping circles:
โ“‘ All Blacks (all-star team)
โ“’ Ireland (experienced squad)

The overlap is where the magic happens! ๐Ÿ”ฎ
Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke are back, but they've got some injuries to overcome.
Meanwhile, Ireland's squad is stacked with experience... this could be a tough one for the All Blacks!

But, Scott Robertson thinks his team can pull off the win... ๐Ÿคž "You expect the best of them" - I love that confidence! ๐Ÿ’ช
It's gonna be a real nail-biter at Soldier Field in Chicago. Who do you think will come out on top? ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ‘€

Yooo, so I'm looking at the stats on Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke getting a recall... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ“Š 83% chance of success for New Zealand against Ireland this year, but 50% chance of injury for Barrett before the match, which is pretty low considering he's been out for almost a month ๐Ÿ’‰. Also, have you seen the odds on Ireland winning? 42% ๐Ÿค‘. Robertson thinks there are more margins to the game, which I think is true... ๐Ÿ” Did you see their win-loss record against Ireland since '16? 4-1 ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. They've got some big names like Jordie Barrett starting, but can they carry that momentum? ๐Ÿค”

I'm so stoked to see Beauden Barrett back on the field ๐Ÿคฉ! He's such a game-changer when he's flying high as fly-half. The dynamic duo of Barrett brothers is gonna be a wild card for Ireland, and I love how Scott Robertson is keeping it real by acknowledging that there's always an element of chance in rugby โš–๏ธ. And omg, the stage is set for a BLOWOUT match! Soldier Field is gonna be electric, and I'm low-key hoping for a high-intensity game that'll leave us all breathless ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐Ÿ‰

I'm so hyped about this game ๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ‰! I mean, you got two of the best teams facing off against each other and it's gonna be a real nail-biter. I love how Scott Robertson is keeping his expectations low though - those margins he mentioned can totally go either way in rugby. And can we talk about Beauden Barrett coming back from injury? He's such an awesome player, it's great to see him back on the pitch ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ‰! On the other side of things, Ireland looks like they're firing on all cylinders - those Aussie wins are no joke ๐Ÿ’ช. Soldier Field is gonna be electric on Saturday, I'm planning on tuning in with a big group of friends ๐Ÿ‘ซ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿค— this is such a big game for both teams, and i can feel how anxious Scott Robertson must be feeling about not having that extra edge over Ireland... he's been working with these guys for years, but it's a whole new level of competition now... ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’ช the fact that Beauden Barrett is back on the pitch after that shoulder injury is huge, and i'm curious to see how he'll bounce back from that ๐Ÿค•

idk how much i trust scott robertson saying all blacks dont have edge over ireland... like they just beat australia last yr & now its irish turn... maybe hes just hyping up their own team lol ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜…. and who's surprised rieko ioane didn't make squad tho? always struggled with injuries

omg i'm so nervous about this match lol i was there in chicago last year when the all blacks lost to ireland ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ it was like my heart was gonna burst out of my chest i've been following rugby for ages and scott robertson is literally my favorite coach i love how he's being humble tho about the challenge ahead ๐Ÿค” but i gotta say beauden barrett is back and that gives me hope!! did u catch the rwc quarter-final match in paris last year??

I'm hyped that Beauden Barrett is back in action ๐Ÿคž, but I gotta be real, Ireland's squad looks super stacked right now ๐Ÿ’ช. I mean, they're coming off a win against Australia and have some experience under their belts ๐Ÿ“ˆ. The All Blacks need to bring their A-game if they wanna take down the Irish ๐Ÿ†. Scott Robertson is on point as always, but this one's gonna be tough ๐Ÿ”ฅ. One thing that's got me stoked is Jordie Barrett starting alongside his bro Beauden โ€“ can't wait to see those two in action ๐Ÿ‘! But we gotta keep it real, Ireland's not going down without a fight ๐Ÿšซ...

omg i'm so hyped for this match!!! ๐Ÿคฉ it's gonna be a tough one for the all blacks but scott robertson seems super confident ๐Ÿ™Œ. i mean, have you seen their squad? they've got some amazing players like beauden barrett and jordie barrett ๐Ÿ‘. but at the same time, ireland is looking fierce too ๐Ÿ’ช. i love how it's gonna be an intense battle between two top teams. it's perfect for us rugby fans ๐ŸŽ‰!

๐Ÿค” this call by Robertson has me wondering if he's not being realistic about our chances against Ireland... I mean, they've been pretty solid lately and we can't afford to underestimate them ๐Ÿšซ. It's a tough one but I'm still rooting for the All Blacks, hope Barrett comes back strong ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿค” This Autumn Nations Series test against Ireland should be ๐Ÿ”ฅ! Beauden Barrett and Caleb Clarke's return is a huge boost for the All Blacks ๐Ÿ™Œ. I'm loving the squad selection by Scott Robertson ๐Ÿ‘, but I do think they'll face a tough challenge ๐Ÿ˜ฌ. The Irish team looks ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ’ช, with all that experience and form โšก๏ธ. It's gonna be an intense battle on the pitch ๐Ÿ’ฅ! But the All Blacks are looking to rediscover their spark ๐ŸŒŸ... let's see if they can get it going this time โฐ. Bring on Saturday at Soldier Field in Chicago ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ‘Š!

I'm thinking about how sometimes we're all waiting for that one moment when everything clicks into place ๐Ÿ”“... like the All Blacks trying to rediscover their spark. It's easy to get caught up in the hype of a big game, but Coach Robertson is keeping it real by saying there are more margins than just talent or skill ๐Ÿค”. It's about being on your best, even when things aren't going as planned.

And I wonder, what does it say about us that we can so easily get caught up in the idea of 'us vs them' ๐Ÿ”ดโšช๏ธ? Like when you're watching a big game and everyone around you is cheering for their team, but you're not sure if that's really about the teams themselves or just about which side of the rivalry they're on ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. It's like, can't we just enjoy the game for what it is?

OMG, I'm SO hyped for this one!!! ๐Ÿ˜† Beauden Barrett is back and he's gonna light up that pitch! ๐ŸŒŸ The All Blacks need to get their mojo working again and this game against Ireland could be just what they need. I mean, we all know the Kiwis have a thing or two to prove, especially after that epic win in Paris last year ๐Ÿ™Œ. But let's be real, Ireland is looking STRONG too! ๐Ÿค Those lads are on fire right now and I'm expecting an absolute barnburner of a game ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ‰ What do you guys think? Are the All Blacks gonna pull off that comeback win or will the Irish boys take the spoils? ๐Ÿค”

I'm really hyped for this match! Both NZ and Ireland have such skilled players ๐Ÿคฉ, it's gonna be a tough one to call. I think Barrett's back will definitely give them an edge, but they need to step up their defense game ๐Ÿ˜…. Ireland's got that experience advantage, which is key in a test like this. Can't wait for the Autumn Nations Series, Soldier Field's gonna be electric ๐ŸŸ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ฅ

๐Ÿค” I'm not sure if the All Blacks are being too cautious with their expectations. They've got some talented players back from injury but still have to deal with the unpredictable nature of the game. Beauden Barrett's return is a big boost, but they'll need to be on top of their game to take down Ireland. The fact that Robertson doesn't think his team has an edge over them shows he knows it won't be easy ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’ช

The All Blacks need a bit of magic this Autumn Nations Series! ๐Ÿ˜… I'm loving the recall of Beauden Barrett, gotta get that fly-half spot back going ๐Ÿ’ซ. But I'm a bit worried about Caleb Clarke's injury, hope he's fit and ready to go ๐Ÿคž. The Irish squad is looking fierce though, those guys have been on a roll ๐Ÿ”ฅ. Leinster-bound Rieko Ioane missing the squad? ๐Ÿ˜ guess it's a tough call for Scott Robertson ๐Ÿค”. Still excited to see these two powerhouses clash at Soldier Field in Chicago ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ, should be an absolute nail-biter! ๐Ÿ’ฅ
