I’ve Been Writing About Black Friday for 12 Years. Here’s My Advice

For 12 years, I've been covering the frenzy that is Black Friday. It's grown from a single day of door-bashing chaos to a month-long shopping extravaganza that can leave even the most seasoned shoppers bewildered.

If you're new to this sales spectacle, it's worth taking some time to prepare yourself for the onslaught of deals and discounts. My advice? Stay up late on Wednesday, November 26, to check online sales starting at midnight Eastern Time. This is usually when the best deals go live, and they can sell out quickly.

Another crucial tip is to do your research beforehand. Create a shopping list of what you're looking for, and use tools like Camelcamelcamel or Keepa to track price history on Amazon. These tools will help you determine if a deal is truly worth it.

Nowadays, doorbusters are rare in-store deals that require camp-outs. Instead, look for online-exclusive discounts marked as "doorbusters." You'll still need to refresh your browser at the exact time of sale to snag these limited-time offers.

To avoid missed-out opportunities, create accounts and save credit card information on retailer websites beforehand. This will speed up checkout processes when deals go live. Also, clear your web browser cache before shopping to ensure you're getting the best price.

Don't fall for impulse buys or repeat sales that aren't truly great deals. Research prices beforehand, and ask yourself if you really need that gadget or item.

Black Friday often brings significant savings on TVs, clothing, toys, home goods, and more. While these discounts are enticing, keep in mind that some products may be available at lower prices throughout the year.

The bottom line is that there are deals on almost every type of product out there. If you're diligent about scoring a sale, you can save money on the things you need and want to buy.

Ultimately, Black Friday can be a great time to score amazing deals if you know how to navigate the sales landscape. By doing your research, being prepared, and avoiding impulse buys, you'll be able to find fantastic discounts that will save you money all year round.

📊 I think it's interesting how Black Friday has evolved into a month-long shopping extravaganza...the pressure to snag deals is intense! 🤯 One thing that's always bugged me is the whole "doorbuster" phenomenon - in-store camping and rush lines can be super stressful. Online-exclusive doorbusters seem like a better way to go, but it's all about timing ⏰ and having your browser ready to roll...I wish there were more transparent deal tracking tools out there 🤔. Ultimately though, if you're smart about it, Black Friday can lead to some amazing savings 😊

omg i'm so done with black friday 🙄 it's like, what even is the point of camping out overnight for a bunch of stuff i already need? and don't even get me started on the whole 'it's a great time to score deals' thing... yeah no thanks i'll just wait till after christmas sales when everything is 50% off 🎁 anyhoo gotta prep ahead tho lol what are some good tools to track price history on amazon? keepa sounds cool but does anyone else use camelcamelcamel? 😂

lol u gotta prep urself for black friday lol! i mean, its not just 1 day of crazy sales anymore, its like a whole month of shopping frenzy 🤯! so, like, do some research beforehand, check out those price history tools on amazon, and make sure u have ur credit card info saved on retailer websites. dont be that guy who misses out on a sale cuz u didnt refresh ur browser fast enough lol! also, be smart about it, dont buy stuff u dont need, and dont fall for repeat sales 😂. its not all bad tho, i mean, u can score some amazing deals on tvs, clothes, toys, etc... just remember, some products r cheaper everywhere else all year round 🤑

I swear, back in my day, we didn't need all these online tools to shop on Black Friday 🤣! Just remember the 90s, when we'd line up outside stores for hours, waiting for those sweet doorbuster deals 💸. Nowadays, it's like shopping online is the norm 📊. But, I gotta say, it's still pretty cool that you can snag some awesome deals on TVS, clothes, and home goods... just don't expect me to camp out in front of my computer at midnight ⏰!

omg u guys! 🤯 so black friday is literally like a whole month now lol. it used to be just one crazy day of door-bashing chaos but now its like a shopping extravaganza 🎉. i would say the most important thing is to research beforehand and make a list 📝. dont just grab anything that looks shiny and new, ask yourself if u really need it 💭. also, clear ur web browser cache before shopping cuz u dont wanna miss out on those online deals 🚫. another tip is to save ur credit card info on retailer websites beforehand so u can checkout super fast 🚀. just remember, not all deals r created equal, do ur homework and find the best ones! 👍

🤔 so i think black friday is like a wild west for shopping 🎉 it's crazy to see how much stuff people want to buy during this time. but like you said, if you know the tricks and tools to use, you can score some awesome deals 💸 especially with online exclusive discounts, those doorbusters can be super tricky to snag 🕹️

i'm also a fan of making a list and checking it twice (or at least tracking price history) before buying anything. that way you don't get caught off guard by prices changing mid sale 🚨 and can make sure it's really worth the cash 💸

omg u guys 🤯 black friday is literally taking over our lives rn! i'm low-key obsessed with those online deals 🛍️ but like, don't even get me started on the doorbusters lol what's up with everyone camping out for hours to snag a discounted toaster 🧈 anyway, if u r new to black friday i say prep ahead of time ⏰ make a list, use price tracker tools, and save ur browser info before it's too late 🔥 also, dont even think about buying something just cuz its on sale...research first, pls 🤓

I think some ppl dont understand how to use online tools like Camelcamelcamel & Keepa lol they can literally track prices and alert u when things go on sale . its so easy to score deals now that most retailers offer them online anyway. and yeah doorbusters are old news nowadays u should just be refreshing ur browser at midnight ET when sales go live instead

omg u gotta prep for black friday lol 🤯! like i know some ppl think its just about barging into stores at dawn but trust me online shopping is key 🛍️! stay up late on wednesday Nov 26th to check out deals and use tools like camelcamelcamel or keepa to track price history 👀. also clear ur web browser cache beforehand so u get the best price 📊. dont fall for impulse buys tho, r u really need that gadget? do ur research and ask yerself if its a good deal 😒. black friday can be lit if u know how to navigate it 💸!
