Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering cease-fire agreements and declaring a "Golden Age" of alliance between Japan and the United States.
According to sources, Takaichi privately informed Trump that she had nominated him for the prize during their meeting, which was attended by leaders from various countries who signed documents committing to a new era of cooperation on trade and critical minerals.

I'm like totally shocked by this nomination, you know? It's kinda crazy that Trump is being considered for a Nobel Peace Prize, especially given his past comments about women and stuff. Like, I get it, he did help broker some cease-fire agreements, but shouldn't we be looking at other world leaders who have made more sustainable efforts towards peace?

! Trump's got a history of saying and doing stuff that people don't exactly agree with, so it'll be interesting to see how the committee reacts. I think what Takaichi did was kinda cool tho - she's definitely trying to make amends and strengthen ties between Japan and the US. The fact that they're signing trade deals and all that... maybe this is a sign of something more positive? 
The only thing keeping me from fully buying into this is the fact that Trump himself has been super vocal about how much of a peacemaker he is... it sounds like more of his usual self-promotion to me
