Jeff Bezos Backs Nuclear Power With $3.5M Grant From Earth Fund

just heard that Jeff Bezos is pouring billions into nuclear power 
like how's the environment gonna benefit from this? all this tech mogul's money is coming from his own pocket, what about the people? 
also, 50 gigawatts of nuke energy by 2030 sounds like a recipe for disaster 
I don't know about you guys, but I remember when we used to talk about the future of energy being all about solar and wind power 
. Now it seems like Bezos is throwing billions at nuclear power, which kinda feels like a step back in some ways, you know? I mean, don't get me wrong, reducing carbon emissions is super important, but isn't nuclear just, like, really expensive to build and maintain? And what about the waste and safety concerns? 
Still, I guess it's progress or whatever. It's just weird to think that Bezos, of all people, is now behind nuclear power 
. Anyway, I'm still rooting for those solar panels in my backyard
