I'm low-key impressed that Jerome Powell finally stood up to Trump's antics. I mean, it's not every day you see someone call out a sitting president and still keep their job . But seriously, this is a huge deal for the Fed's independence. It's like they were saying, "Hey, we're not just some puppet bank that you can control with your tweets". Powell's like the ultimate adult in this situation, keeping calm and collected despite all the drama. And I'm curious to see how this plays out - will Trump really follow through on his threats? Only time will tell
Trump's been goin at Powell like a dog with a bone, think he can just fire him and everyone'll forget about it? Not on this guy's watch! Powell's standin firm, no matter what they throw at him. Like, seriously, who tries to discredit someone by investigatin the HQ renovation? Come on, dude!
I'm not sure if having a Fed Chair who's all steely and unflinching is such a good thing... I mean, can't they just have a chill conversation with Trump instead of going full-on warrior mode? And what's up with this whole "pretext" thing? It sounds like some kinda setup to me. Don't get me wrong, Powell's gotta stand up for the Fed and all that, but can't we just have a more... diplomatic approach to dealing with the President's antics?
