The stats on jobless claims are kinda weird, right? One minute they're going up, next minute they're plummeting ! I'm still trying to figure out why . Could be wages are rising or people just got their jobs back ? Not sure but it's def making experts nervous .
The fact that continuing claims went down too is interesting . Maybe we're seeing a shift in the job market ? Anyway, inflation data coming next month will give us more insight . We'll just have to wait and see if this trend continues or was just a blip .
so now we're getting all excited about 9k fewer people wanting unemployment benefits? like, yay I guess? the thing is, this is just a blip on the radar and doesn't change the fact that the unemployment rate is still stuck at 4.4%. it's not like anyone who was unemployed last week got a job offer or something and btw, 198k is still pretty low so I'm not convinced we're seeing some kinda major economic rebound just yet...
This drop in jobless claims is weird... like, what's going on? 198k applicants last week? That's crazy low! It's not just the new claims either, continuing claims are down too... that means people who already got those benefits might be getting less money now. But wages and job availability aren't rising that fast? I'm missing something here... where's the data on that? Need more info before I start jumping to conclusions
9k less jobless claims last week is defo a weird move ! Analysts are stumped and unsure of the reason behind this unexpected flip . Could be rising wages or more jobs available ? Or maybe just a blip on the radar? Anyway, 198k new claims is still super low , and 1.88 million continuing claims is a relief for those recieving benefits. But 4.4% unemployment rate is still hanging around . Bring on that delayed inflation data next month ! Will it show us what's really going on ?
ummm so like i was thinking that maybe people just got some more money or something from their jobs they must've gotten raises or bonuses or idk? thats why jobless claims went down so fast... but at the same time, unemployment rate is still 4.4% which is pretty high so idk if its just a temporary thing or not... and what about inflation news next month? will it be good or bad for everyone? i wish i had some insight into this
wow, jobless claims dropped by 9k last week that's crazy! i'm thinking maybe ppl r finding better paying jobs? or maybe the holiday season really helped some folks get back on their feet anyway, this is def a bit of a surprise, but hopefully its just a small blip and not a sign of anything more serious
