The Moroccan film festival has unveiled a star-studded lineup for its conversations program, featuring an eclectic mix of Hollywood heavyweights and international talent. Among the esteemed guests are Academy Award-winning actress Jodie Foster, acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, and Oscar winner Bong Joon Ho.
Foster will be discussing her critically acclaimed 2017 film "A Private Life," which earned her a nomination for Best Actress at the Oscars. The Marrakech Film Festival has also announced two panel discussions featuring prominent figures in the industry. The first conversation pairs French-Belgian actress Virginie Efira with Italian-French singer and actress Chiara Mastroianni, who will explore themes of freedom in roles and cinema's relationship to the world.
In a second discussion, director Asmae El Moudir, who won the Un Certain Regard award for best director at Cannes last year, will be joined by "A Way Home" helmer Karima Saïdi. The conversation will focus on how Moroccan documentaries capture collective history and intimate narratives through personal stories.
