Journalists rally for press freedom after Don Lemon's arrest

Ugh, can't believe how this is all playing out 🤯. I mean, seriously, a journalist gets arrested for doing their job? It's like, what even is the point of having a free press if we're just gonna get charged with disorderly conduct for covering a protest? 🤔 And don't even get me started on how this is setting a precedent for future generations of journalists... it's basically saying that reporting on public events is optional, and if you break the rules, you'll be held accountable. Not cool, CNN. Not cool at all 😒. I'm all for journalists being held to high standards, but this feels like an overreach, ya know? 🤷‍♀️ The fact that some folks are welcoming these charges just makes me even more anxious about the future of press freedom... it's a slippery slope for sure 🚨

idk why ppl are getting so worked up over don lemon's arrest 🤷‍♂️ he was just doing his job, reporting on a protest. like, come on guys, journalists gotta follow the law too ( sorta ) 💁‍♂️ the first amendment is all well and good, but it doesn't mean u can be a total jerk on live TV 😒

and btw, what's with the whole "journalism is not a crime" thing? 🤦‍♂️ if u break the law, then u gotta face the music. no special treatment for journalists just cuz they're "reporting the news". 📰 it's all about accountability, ppl! 👮‍♂️

🤯 I'm low-key freaking out about this whole situation 🚨. Like, don't get me wrong, we gotta hold journalists accountable for their actions, but this is a slippery slope, fam 😬. If you can't cover protests without getting arrested, what's the point of reporting on the stories that matter? It's not like they're just standing there with cameras, sipping tea 🤣.

I'm all about free speech and press freedom, and I think it's crazy that some people are already framing this as a win for conservative causes 🙄. Newsflash: being a journalist isn't just about showing up to events, it's about holding those in power accountable 💯. Don Lemon was doing his job, and if he gets charged with disorderly conduct, that sets a bad precedent.

I'm all for transparency and accountability, but let's not confuse this with a debate about the First Amendment 🤷‍♀️. We gotta protect our right to report on the stories we care about, even if it means putting ourselves in uncomfortable situations 🔥. The hashtag #journalismisnotacrime is everything I need right now 💖.

I mean, I think it's crazy that people are so divided about this 🤯... but at the same time, don't we all want to make sure journalists aren't breaking the law? Like, if they're not following the rules, how can we trust them to report on important issues? 📰 But on the other hand, isn't it their job to expose what's going on and hold people in power accountable? And shouldn't that be protected by the First Amendment? 🤔... I don't know, maybe I'm just torn because Don Lemon was kinda being a bit reckless with those protests 😒.

😬 I'm still trying to process how this whole thing went down... like, what even happened here? 🤔 Don Lemon gets arrested for reporting on a protest and now everyone's talking about how journalists aren't protected by the law when they're covering stories. It's crazy! 💥 I don't think it's right that some people are saying reporters should be held to the same standards as protesters - like, that's not how journalism works at all! 📰 But at the same time, you can understand why there would be concerns about people breaking the law when reporting on protests. It's all just really complicated right now... and I'm not sure what the outcome of Don Lemon's case is gonna be. 😕
