Judge halts rushed Leland House auction, intervening again in fight over Detroit’s historic building - Detroit Metro Times

This is so messed up 🤯 I mean, come on, you can't just sell off a building like that without even giving the tenants a chance to fight back? It's like they're being pushed out onto the street without any help from the city 🚫 Like what if they didn't have anywhere else to go? The Leland House has been around for ages and it's got history and character - you can't just erase that for some big corporation trying to make a quick buck 💸.

This is just great, another building gets saved at the last minute and it's all thanks to some fancy lawyer who managed to string out the process enough to give the tenants some breathing room . Meanwhile, the owner's still got their fingers crossed for a quick sale and I'm sure they're just thrilled that their plans are being put on hold again. And don't even get me started on DTE Energy - what's their real motive here? Are they just trying to do the right thing or is this all some clever PR stunt? Either way, it's only a matter of time before the owners come crawling back with another proposal and we're back to square one. Can't we just have a straightforward sale already?! 🤦‍♂️😒
