I mean, I'm all for justice and all, but sometimes it feels like the system is more focused on "winning" cases than actually making sure people are innocent.
Anyway, I'm glad the jury saw through the prosecution's arguments and gave Juan a fair shot. But now that he's acquitted, what's next? Will he be able to stay in the country without fear of deportation?
I think we need to start having some serious conversations about systemic racism and bias in our justice system. It's time for us to take a closer look at how we're treating people of color, especially those who are already marginalized.
