Lure review – eligible bachelors dying for romance in Saw-style dating game

A Low-Budget Horror That Fails to Deliver on Promised Thrills

The Bachelorette-meets-femme-Jigsaw premise is an intriguing one, but "Lure" fails to deliver a suspenseful experience. The film's concept, which pits six eligible young men against a deadly game of survival in a country estate, has all the ingredients for a thrilling ride. However, the execution falls short due to a lack of suspension of disbelief.

The movie's biggest problem lies in its inability to convincingly transport viewers into the world it creates. The horror genre relies on creating an atmosphere that feels real and immersive, while also embracing its absurdity when necessary. Unfortunately, "Lure" fails to achieve this balance, instead feeling like a low-budget student production.

Individual moments showcase flashes of potential, but they are never fully realized. The audience is left feeling disconnected from the characters, neither invested in their escape nor willing them to face their demise.

The film's identity crisis doesn't help matters. It tries to blend elements of folk horror, torture porn, and a twisted family drama, but fails to commit to any one approach. This results in a disjointed viewing experience that feels like channel-surfing rather than a cohesive narrative.

Furthermore, the production values are subpar, with flimsy cable ties and gags used to restrain the victims giving off an air of escapability. The film's lack of conviction is palpable, making it difficult to become fully immersed in its world.

Ultimately, "Lure" fails to deliver on its promise of a suspenseful horror experience. Despite its intriguing premise, it succumbs to poor execution and a lack of faith in its own narrative, leaving viewers disappointed and unimpressed.

omg I just watched this super low budget horror film Lure and tbh it was so meh 🤷‍♀️🎃 the concept is wild a bachelorette meets fem Jigsaw game show but like the execution is trash 🚮💔 they tried to blend all these different styles like folk horror torture porn etc but it just didn't work out 😂 and don't even get me started on the production values lol cable ties as gags 😂👀 it's like they were trying too hard to be edgy instead of actually being suspenseful 🕵️‍♀️

the idea of a femme-jigsaw style horror movie is cool 🤔🕷️ but the execution here is super weak 💀 the production values are low key ridiculous with cable ties and flimsy stuff 🤣 it feels like they didn't even try to make it look scary or impressive 🚫

i get that suspense is hard to achieve but this movie takes it too far 🙅‍♂️ its like they're trying to confuse us instead of actually scaring us 😳 and the characters are all meh 👎 not much emotional investment when things go down

they try to mix up genres but its just a mess 🤯 folk horror, torture porn, family drama... what were they thinking? 🤷‍♂️ it feels like a bunch of different ideas thrown together without any cohesion or purpose

overall i'd say this movie fails to deliver on its promise 😔 would rather watch paint dry than sit through this again 😴

man I was super stoked for this movie like I'd heard the premise was so cool 🤩 but honestly it felt like they took every decent horror cliche threw them in a blender and hit puree...i mean what's up with the country estate? it just feels like they wanted to make some generic rich ppl drama and shoehorn in some horror elements 🤷‍♂️ i get that suspense is key but "Lure" just can't deliver on that front, every jump scare felt so predictable, it was like they knew we were gonna see it comin' a mile away 😴

I watched this movie and I gotta say, it was so underwhelming 🤦‍♂️. The idea of a bunch of dudes getting stuck on a creepy estate sounds like horror gold 💀, but the execution is all wrong. It's like they're trying to make a puzzle with too many pieces that don't fit together.

I drew this 🎨

It's like they're trying to be all things to everyone, but ends up being nothing. 😐 The production values are low-key 🚮 and it shows. I mean, come on, flimsy cable ties? That's just lazy 🤦‍♂️.

Anyway, if you're a fan of horror movies, there are way better ones out there that deliver on the thrills 💥.

🤔 I was really looking forward to this one, but honestly, I left feeling kinda underwhelmed 😐. I love the idea of six guys trapped in a creepy country estate with some twisted game on, sounds like a total thrill ride 🎢! But somehow it just didn't come together for me. The atmosphere felt super cheap and low-budget, and the characters just didn't feel real 🙅‍♂️. I mean, can you really root for guys who are basically being manipulated into this whole nightmare? Not buying it 😒. And don't even get me started on those cable ties... what's next? 🤣 The production values were seriously lacking, and the pacing was all over the place 🕰️. Overall, I'd say it was a total miss for me. Maybe if they went back to the drawing board and tried again?

I don’t usually comment but... I went into this movie expecting something that would give me the heebie-jeebies 🕷️ and was thoroughly underwhelmed. The idea of six guys trapped on a creepy estate sounds like a recipe for horror gold, but it feels like they took every thrifty tip from a YouTube "budget filmmaking" tutorial 📹

The whole thing just felt so... cheap 🤑. Like, the production values are straight out of a low-budget indie flick that's trying to make some buzz on Netflix 🌊. The cable ties are laughable 😂 and the "twists" are predictable as hell 🤣. I mean, I get it, you're on a tight budget, but come on... can't you at least try to make it look like you're putting in some effort? 💪

It's like they took all the ideas from other horror movies and mashed them together into this mess 🤯. It feels like they were trying to be everything to everyone and ended up being nothing at all 😐. Sorry, guys, but "Lure" just didn't cut it for me 👎

idk why directors think they can make a good horror movie with such low budget lol 🤣 the whole concept was so cool but then it just fell apart like a poorly made puzzle 🧩 anyway i feel kinda bad for the actors, they must have had to deal with some really awkward direction 🤦‍♀️ and that cable tie gag was just 😂 too much, like what were they thinking? 💡

🤦‍♂️ I mean, come on! A movie with such a wild idea like a guy killing people to win the heart of his mystery woman just shouldn't be so boring 😴. It's like they took all these cool horror elements but didn't know how to put them together like glue 💪. The special effects looked super cheap and it was hard not to think about how ridiculous some of the scenes were 🤣. I'm not asking for much, just a fun scary movie that doesn't make me roll my eyes 😒. Guess they just fell short on this one...

idk man, i was really hyped for this movie 🤷‍♂️, thought the whole "bachelorette meets jigsaw" thing sounded so sick 😈. but like, it just didn't deliver right? its got all these cool ideas and whatnot, but somehow they just fall flat. i mean, the production values are super lowkey 🤦‍♂️, like you can literally see the cable ties used to restrain the victims. and the acting is meh, feels like they're all just phoning it in 😴. i was expecting this movie to be like a really intense, immersive horror experience but instead its just kinda...meh 🤔.

omg i'm soooo disappointed in this movie! 😭 i was like "okay, let's see what this bachelorette-meets-femme-jigsaw horror thing is all about" but nope! the suspense just wasn't there... it felt like they were phoning it in. 📺 and don't even get me started on how cheap the special effects looked 🤑 i mean, come on! cable ties? 🤣 seriously?! it's like they took a bunch of ideas and threw them together without thinking "wait, this doesn't work" 🤦‍♀️

i loved the premise tho... 6 guys trapped in a creepy mansion with some psycho lady who likes to play games 💁‍♀️ it had all the makings of a sick horror movie! but ugh, they just didn't deliver 😔 so yeah, not gonna be watching this one again anytime soon 🙅‍♂️

Ugh I'm so over low budget horror flicks 🤯♂️! This "Lure" movie had all the ingredients for a wild ride but they just phoned it in 📞. It's like they knew it was going to be bad and were just going through the motions 💁‍♀️. I mean come on, flimsy cable ties? 😂 That's not even a real horror trope anymore! And don't even get me started on how unconvincing the whole setup is 🤦‍♂️. It's like they're trying to make you feel bad for laughing at it, but honestly it's hard not to 🤣. I was expecting something that would mess with my head, but this just felt like a lazy attempt at scaring me 😴. Total disappointment 🎬

🤔 I'm really bummed about this one... I mean, the idea sounds so cool - like a country estate with a killer game going on 🏠💀. But honestly, it just didn't deliver for me. The whole thing felt like it was missing that special something to make you go "whoa" 😱. And don't even get me started on how cheesy the restraints were... cable ties? 😂 come on!

I think the biggest problem is that it tried to be too many things at once and ended up being nothing 🤷‍♀️. It's like they were trying to make a horror movie, but also a family drama, and just kinda... stopped halfway through 💭.

For me, I need a good horror movie to really get in the zone, you know? And unfortunately, this one just didn't do it for me 😔. Maybe I'll give it another watch down the line, but for now... 🤷‍♀️

I gotta say, I was hyped for this one 🤔...the whole Bachelorette-meets-femme-Jigsaw thing sounded like a wild ride. But honestly, it just didn't hold up for me 😐. The premise had some great potential, but the execution was super lacking. Like, you can tell they were trying to create a creepy atmosphere, but it just felt like they phoned it in 📺. And don't even get me started on the production values...I mean, cable ties? 😂 It's like they didn't want us to be scared for them. Overall, I was really let down by this one 👎. I guess sometimes you just can't save a bad idea 💔.

Ugh, I was so hyped for this one, but I guess I was wrong 🤦‍♀️. The idea of a deadly game show sounds like something that could've been super intense, but the way it's done in "Lure" is just meh. It feels like they took some cool concepts and mashed them together without thinking about how they'd actually work together. And don't even get me started on those cable ties 😂... I mean, come on, that's just lazy. Anyways, if you're a horror fan looking for something to watch, I'd say skip this one and look elsewhere 🎃

I was thinking the same thing about this movie 🤔. I mean, who wouldn't want to watch six guys fighting for survival on a creepy country estate? Sounds like a recipe for thrills right? But honestly, it just didn't deliver for me. The whole atmosphere thing is key in horror movies and "Lure" just didn't get it right. It felt like they were trying too hard to be all things to all people and ended up losing focus on what made the genre good in the first place. And don't even get me started on the production values 😂... I mean, come on, cable ties? That's just lazy. Anyway, gotta agree with this review that it was a disappointment 🤕

I just watched this one low-budget horror flick "Lure" and I gotta say, it was like they took all these cool ideas but never actually brought them together 🤯. The plot's got some wild twists and turns but the whole thing feels so shallow and unrealistic, you can't even pretend to be scared 😅. And don't even get me started on the production values - I've seen better made in a high school film class 🎥. What really gets me is that they're trying to mix so many different genres together like folk horror, torture porn, and family drama but it's just a mess 🤪. Overall, if you want some real thrills, keep looking elsewhere 👻💀

I gotta say, I was really hyped for this one, but "Lure" just didn't deliver 🤔. The whole Bachelorette-meets-Jigsaw vibe sounded so promising, but it ended up feeling like a low-budget student film 🎥. They had some cool moments where you're like "ooh, suspenseful!" but then they'd drop the ball and make you go "wait, what's going on again?" 😂.

And don't even get me started on the production values 🚮. I mean, come on, cable ties as a gag? It's just lazy 💁‍♀️. The film tried to blend so many different styles, but ended up feeling all over the place like a weird TV show 📺. Overall, it was just a disappointing watch 🤕.

I just got back from the most random vacation to the beach 🏖️, and I saw this hilarious bird playing with a piece of string 😂. Like, seriously, it was trying to figure out how to catch it... meanwhile, my fish food was getting away 🤣. Anyways, back to horror movies... have you guys seen "Lure"? It's like they tried to make a game show for adults but forgot the prize 🎲👀. I mean, what's up with the country estate? Sounds super sketchy, right? Can we just talk about the best types of fish food instead?

I'm still tryna figure out what went wrong with this one 🤔... the concept is solid, but I think they tried 2 hard 2 hold onto all those different horror vibes & it just ends up feeling like a mess 😒. I mean, the production values are hella basic, it's like they raided the dollar store 4 props lol . I was tryna get invested in the characters, but they just felt so... disposable 🤮. I'm all 4 a good ol' fashioned folk horror vibe, but this one's got too many identity crisis vibes 🌪️. Overall, it's a skippable watch IMHO 👎
