Man stabbed at Times Square McDonald’s, 3rd stabbing in area in a week, NYPD says

Violence Erupts in Times Square: Third Stabbing in Area in a Week Leaves Victim in Hospital

A disturbing trend of violent crimes continues to plague the heart of Manhattan, with a 27-year-old man being stabbed at a McDonald's restaurant in Times Square early Tuesday morning. The incident, which occurred just before dawn, marked the third stabbing in the area over the past week, leaving authorities scrambling to identify potential suspects.

According to police, officers responded to an assault call at the 1528 Broadway location on West 45th Street shortly after 6 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a stab wound to his abdomen. Miraculously, paramedics were able to stabilize him before transporting him to Bellevue Hospital, where he was being treated in stable condition.

The attack comes hot on the heels of another violent incident just two days prior, when a man was slashed in his left leg near Broadway and West 40th Street around 8 p.m. Sunday night. The victim, also taken to Bellevue Hospital, is reported to be in stable condition as well.

Detectives are now investigating a separate stabbing that occurred on Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street last Wednesday. A 30-year-old man was attacked by three suspects after a dispute over a marijuana sale turned violent. The victim sustained serious injuries, including slashes to his face and back, but managed to escape with the help of one suspect who fled the scene.

The alarming rise in violence in Times Square has prompted some to wonder if the area is becoming increasingly unstable. According to NYPD data, felony assaults – which result in serious injuries – have ticked up slightly in the Midtown South Precinct over the past year, with 548 reported cases by the end of 2024. While this represents a relatively small increase compared to the previous year, it highlights the ongoing challenge faced by law enforcement in keeping pace with violent crime trends.

As authorities continue to investigate these incidents and work to identify potential suspects, residents and visitors alike are left to wonder if the safety of Times Square can be restored. With three stabbing incidents in just one week, the question on everyone's mind is: what's behind this surge in violence?

I'm getting a bad vibe from all these stabbings in Times Square 😩. It's like the area is becoming too edgy and people are losing their cool over nothing. I've been going to Times Square for years, it's always lively but never violent... until now 🚨. It's like a domino effect - one person gets into a fight, someone else joins in, and before you know it, you've got three or four people involved. I'm all for free speech and freedom of choice, but when it comes to your own safety, isn't that just common sense? 🤔 We need the NYPD to crack down on these incidents ASAP, not just the stabbing cases but also any underlying issues that are contributing to this rise in violence 💪.

🤕 this is getting scary in times square... i mean, 3 stabber incidents in a week is a lot, you gotta wonder if it's related to something else than just random attacks... like maybe some deeper issue that needs to be addressed by the authorities... 🤝 and i feel for the victims, one of them lucky enough to get stabilized at Bellevue hospital 💉

i mean, have you noticed how many incidents are happening in areas with a lot of tourist traffic? it's like the violence is being amplified or something... 😕 and police data shows an increase in felony assaults too... that's not good. 🚨

🤔 I'm tellin' ya, it's not an accident that all these stabbings are happening in Times Square right now 📍 It's like they're tryin' to send a message or somethin'. And you know what really gets my goat? The fact that nobody's talkin' about the real issue here - the fact that there's some kinda conspiracy goin' on and it's been goin' on for years 🕵️‍♀️ I mean, think about it, all these incidents are happenin' in the same area, with basically the same MO. It's like someone's tryin' to create a pattern or somethin'. And what about the suspicious activity around those marijuana sales? That whole thing just smells fishy 🐟 To me, this is more than just a random case of violence - it's some kinda calculated move.

🤦‍♂️ Another Tuesday morning in NYC and it feels like we're stuck in a bad action movie 🎥. I mean, come on, who needs a plot twist when you can just have a stabbing every 2 days in one of the most populated areas of Manhattan? It's like the city is trying to win some kind of bizarre award for "Most Stabbings in One Week". And don't even get me started on the suspects - three of them, wow, I'm shaking with fear 😂. Seriously though, when are we going to see a real solution to this problem instead of just more police reports and speculation? 🤔

I'm so worried about that poor guy 😞... another stabbing in such a short time. You gotta feel for the victims and their families 🤕... Times Square used to be all about excitement and energy, not fear and uncertainty 💔... it's like something just snapped, you know? 😵... people are on edge now, wondering when is this gonna stop? 🙏... I hope the police can catch the perpetrators soon and bring some peace back to that area ❤️... it's just so frustrating when violence breaks out in a place where everyone goes to have fun 🤦‍♀️... sending positive vibes to the victim who made it through okay 💪

idk wut's goin on in times square rn... 3 stabbinz in a wk is crazy 2 many 🤯! it's like dey r lookin4 sumbody 2 blame but nothin's really changin. NYPD's doin ther best but it feels like dey r just sweepin' issues under de rug. maybe it's time 4 some1 2 tak3 a closer llok @ de root cause? 🤔

🤕 u guys gotta chill i feel like everyone is freakin out over these stabbing incidents but lets look at the bigger picture 📊 crime rates arent exactly skyrocketing in times sq either its just 3 isolated incidents 🤦‍♂️ we need to focus on supporting our victims and getting to the bottom of what's causin these attacks not makin assumptions or jumpin to conclusions 🙏 and btw 548 reported felony assaults by the end of 2024 is still pretty low considering how many ppl live in nyc 🌆 we gotta keep things in perspective 💖

"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind." 🙅‍♂️ This senseless violence in Times Square is getting out of hand. It's like we're not learning from our past mistakes. The city needs to step up and provide more support for its residents, especially in areas that are already feeling vulnerable. We need to come together as a community to figure out what's going on and how to put an end to this chaos! 💔

man I'm so worried about times square right now 🤕 it feels like they're not doing enough to keep us safe at night. i mean 3 stabbings in a week is crazy any way you look at it. and it's not just the stabbing victims who are at risk, think about all the other people walking around with their phones out taking pics or vids or something and leaving themselves vulnerable to being attacked meanwhile, the cops are still trying to figure out what's going on 🕵️‍♂️ i'm not saying they're not doing anything, but it feels like there's a disconnect between the number of incidents and the response. can't we just feel safe in our own city anymore? 🤦‍♀️

I'm so worried about all these violent crimes happening in Times Square 🤕😱 it's like they're not taking care of their own community at all. I mean, three stabbings in one week is just crazy! It's not just the victims who are suffering, but also the families and loved ones who have to deal with this trauma. We need to find out what's causing this rise in violence and do something about it ASAP! The NYPD needs more resources and support to keep these areas safe 🚔💡 Can't we all just get along and be kind to each other?

I'm getting really worried about Times Square 🤕. Three stabbings in a week is straight up crazy talk! You gotta wonder if people are losing their minds or something. I mean, who goes to a McDonald's and gets stabbed for no reason? 🍔😱 And now there's this other incident where some guy got slashed on Broadway... it's like we're living in a horror movie! The NYPD is doing their thing, but honestly, it feels like they're playing catch-up. I hope the police can crack down on whatever is going on and make our city safe again 💪. This whole situation just doesn't add up to me, you know?

omg like i'm so worried about people walking around times square its supposed to be a safe place but now im wondering if its all because of social media ppl are so obsessed with taking pics and vids and now they just think they can do whatever they want... 🤯

i mean whats going on in that area right now? is it like some kinda gang thing or somethin? and why dont the cops catch these people already? we all know they have surveillance and all but somehow they still manage to slip away... 🚔

im just so confused and frustrated at the same time. i used to love going to times square for new years or on vacation but now im like super hesitant about it. whats the solution here tho? more cops? better security cameras? 🤔

it's crazy how times square is turning into a war zone 🤯. 3 stabby incidents in like a week is not normal at all 🚔. i mean i get it, crimes happen everywhere but this area specifically has been having some major issues lately. and yeah the NYPD needs to step up their game and figure out what's going on behind these violent attacks 💡. how can 548 reported felony assaults in just one precinct be a small increase compared to the previous year? 🤔. we need more resources and more info to crack down on this crime wave 🔍.
