Wow, I'm loving the fresh take on classic Bach tunes Martin Fröst's got some serious skills on that clarinet! The addition of his brother Göran on viola adds a nice depth to those Inventions and that Air on the G String is so chill, like Jonas Nordberg was totally vibin' with the piece . And who knew Anastasia Kobekina's Ave Maria would be amazing? That Prelude in C is just elegant . Benny Andersson guesting on Largo? Genius! This album has me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside
omg i mean, this new bach album is pretty cool fröst's playing is so smooth it'll make you want to just relax into the music and never leave not sure what's more surprising though, the fact that abba got involved or that their guest appearance doesn't completely ruin the whole thing anyway, gotta give props to dubé for bringing some much-needed jazz vibes to the mix
just listened to Martin Fröst's new Bach album and I'm feeling so inspired! his playing is like butter on a warm croissant - silky smooth and indulgent. I love how he puts his own spin on the classics, it's like he's sharing a secret joke with you . And that tone in the Goldberg Variations opening... it's like having your heart string-plucked and put back together again . not to mention Göran Fröst slaying it on the viola, what a brotherly love affair! all in all, this album is pure joy
I gotta say, I'm still a bit skeptical about this whole "Bachmania" trend . Don't get me wrong, Martin Fröst's album is definitely catchy and fun, but is it really adding anything new to the conversation? Like, we've had Inventions and Sinfonias on repeat for ages... does this just mean people are getting bored of their usual repertoire or something? I'm also not convinced by the inclusion of Abba in an all-Bach album. I mean, it's nice to see artists having fun with classical music, but can't they just stick to the original composers for once?
I'm loving Martin Fröst's new album! He's really managed to breathe some life into those classic Bach pieces . I mean, who wouldn't want to hear a jazzy bass line underpinning that opening aria from the Goldberg Variations? It's like he's taken the music and turned it on its head . And that performance with his brother Göran on viola? MIND BLOWN ! Plus, Benny Andersson dropping by for the Largo from the Keyboard Concerto No 5? Genius! Even Abba fans can appreciate the unexpected twist . What do you guys think about this album?! Should we all be giving it a listen ASAP?
