Mike Vrabel says recent Patriots changes have nothing to do with wanting to separate from the past

New England Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel says his recent changes to team traditions have nothing to do with a desire to distance himself from the legacy of Bill Belichick and the dynasty days of the franchise.

When asked if he felt like erasing the burden of past success, Vrabel scoffed at the question, saying it's all about moving forward. The Patriots' new approach to pregame introductions, ditching the long-standing tradition of team introductions for individual player introductions, has been a notable change that was made ahead of their Week 8 win.

Vrable also acknowledged that there may be some "clunkers" in his decisions so far, but emphasized that he's committed to making them work. He expressed excitement about coaching the current players and building a winning culture.

While some might view these changes as an attempt to break away from the Patriots' storied past, Vrable insists it's all about creating a new identity for the team while still honoring its legacy. The results so far have been promising, with the Patriots sitting at 6-2 and leading the AFC East.

Ultimately, Vrable's approach is centered on finding what works best for his team and not getting bogged down by what came before. He's focusing on building a winning culture that will allow the Patriots to compete at the highest level in the future.

I gotta say, Vrabel's got some valid points here. I mean, it's all about moving forward, right? Can't just sit around and dwell on past success. But at the same time, you can't ignore the fact that those legacy days are a big part of what made the Patriots so great in the first place.

I think he's got the right idea in mind, but some of his execution might be a bit off. Like, ditching team introductions? It feels like a small change that might not make a huge impact on the field. But hey, if it works for him and the players, more power to him, I guess 🤔.

One thing's for sure, though: if Vrabel can find that winning culture he's talking about, I think the Patriots are gonna be just fine. And who knows, maybe these changes will lead to something even better than what came before? Stranger things have happened, right? 😏

I don't get why ppl need 2 change things that r already working 🤔. I mean, the Pats were killing it under Belichick, and now they're like... what? They're just trying 2 find their new identity or something 🔄. Newsflash: changing traditions doesn't make u more modern 😐. It's all good to want 2 move forward, but sometimes u gotta respect where u came from 💯. I mean, I'm happy 4 the Patriots, but can't they just stick w/ what made them successful in the first place? 🤷‍♂️

I gotta say, I'm all about change and progress 🔄💪 but this new direction from Mike Vrabel is kinda weird . Like, erasing the whole team intro thing just 'cause of past success? That's a big ask for fans who've grown up with that tradition 🤔. Can't he just find a way to honor the legacy while still making it his own? Maybe this new identity thing isn't gonna work out and they'll be back to their old ways soon 💁‍♂️. I'm curious to see if Vrabel's approach actually leads to more wins or just a bunch of "clunkers" 🤦‍♂️.

I don't usually comment but I just watched some of Vrabel's post-game presser vids and idk man, I get where he's coming from...trying to establish his own identity with the team, but it feels kinda weird that they're ditching the old traditions like that 🤔. I mean, those Belichick years were iconic and I can see why some fans would wanna hold on to them. But at the same time, I guess you gotta move forward and all that jazz 💪. If Vrabel's approach is working for now, then more power to him, but it'll be interesting to see how it plays out in the long run ⏰...I'm still a fan of the Pats no matter what 🎉

come on guys dont be so hard on mike vrabel hes just tryna shake things up and create somethin new for the patriots he wants 2 move forward, not erase the past u gotta respect his vision 🤝 the guy's got a winning culture goin and its lookin good 6-2 and still in 1st place dont count him out yet

OMG u guys I'm literally shaking with excitement about Mike Vrabel's new approach to coaching the Pats 🤩🏈 he's totally killing it by not trying to erase the past legacy of Bill Belichick but instead making his own mark on the team 📚💪 I mean, who needs tradition when u can create a new identity that's still rooted in winning 🏆 and let's be real 6-2 is no joke 🤯 Vrabel's all about building a winning culture that's gonna take the Pats to the top 💥

idk why ppl keep talkin bout tryna erase the past lol, it's like they wanna take away all the good memories of Belichick era 🤣. but seriously, Vrabel seems like a cool coach who just wants 2 make his own mark w/ the team. he's not tryna outdo Belichick or nothin, he's just tryin 2 build somethin new & exciting. and let's be real, the results so far are pretty promising 📈. i'm hyped 2 see how this season plays out 👀

Wow 😮 this guy Vrabel is low-key genius lol, just think about it if he can change the whole game with some small tweaks like changing intro's 🤯 but still keeping the legacy alive its all about evolution bruh 🔥

lol what does it matter if he's tryin to distance himself from Belichick tho? like, I get it Vrabel wants to create his own identity but can't help but think some of these changes feel super out of touch 🤔. and I'm not sure 'moving forward' is the right phrase for this... seems more like he's just tryin to wipe the slate clean of everything that made Belichick so successful 😐.

lol what's up with this new coach trying to distance himself from Belichick? like, come on Mike u can't just erase the legacy of the Pats dynasty 🤣 it's not like u r trying 2 outdo him or sumthin... i mean, i get it, moving forward and all that jazz but still gotta respect the past 🙏. plus, ditching team intros for individual player ones? what's next, changing the color scheme? 😂 idk man, im just sayin' if u wanna make changes, make 'em meaningful not just random stuff 🤔

I think Mike Vrabel is being super honest about why he made those changes 🤔💡 The whole "erasing the burden of past success" thing just sounds like code for trying to distance himself from Belichick's shadow, you know? But at the same time, I get it – change is hard and sometimes you gotta shake things up to keep moving forward 💪. It's all about finding what works best for his team now, not dwelling on what came before. And honestly, the results so far have been pretty promising 🏈💯... still gonna be interesting to see if he can make those "clunkers" work out 🤞

I'm kinda curious about Mike Vrabel's decisions, you feel? I mean, he wants to create a new identity for the Patriots but some fans might be worried that it's gonna dilute their rich history 🤔. It's great that he's committed to making things work and is all about finding what works best for his team, but at the same time, those changes didn't go unnoticed... like, why ditch the old tradition of team introductions? Still, I guess you can't deny that they're 6-2 and leading the AFC East, so maybe it's all good in the end 🏈.

idk about this new thing with mike vrabel trying to distance himself from bill belichick's legacy 🤔... it just feels like he's trying to reinvent the wheel and change stuff without even thinking it through. i mean, i get it, change can be good, but sometimes you gotta appreciate the past, ya know? 🙄 the whole team introductions thing was a weird move, felt kinda awkward watching those individual player intros for the first time 👀... and now they're saying there might be some "clunkers" in his decisions? yeah, that's like saying i'll just try all this new stuff on you guys until it works 🤷‍♂️ anyway, gotta see how this whole thing plays out, but atm, i'm not totally sold on vrabel's approach 😐

OMG I'm so stoked about this new direction under Mike Vrabel!!! 🤩 I know some people might be worried about losing the old legacy but honestly, I think it's all about evolution and growth! 🌱 The team is still killing it and showing no signs of slowing down. Let's give Coach Vrabel a chance to make this new identity work and see where it takes us 🤔💪

I'm low-key loving Mike Vrabel's vibes right now 🤩. He's taking some bold moves to shake things up and create a new identity for the Patriots, but it's all about moving forward, you know? I think it's cool that he's not trying to erase the past or distance himself from Bill Belichick's legacy - that would be weird 😂. Instead, he's focusing on building a winning culture and finding what works best for his team. And let's be real, the results so far are looking 🔥! 6-2 is no joke, especially in the AFC East. I'm hyped to see how this new approach plays out and if Vrabel can make those "clunkers" work 💪.

can't believe mike vrabel is trying to distance himself from bill belichick's legacy like he's some kinda genius, lol 🙄 anyway, i think its cool that he's making changes to create a new identity for the team, it's about time we saw something new from new england. but gotta wonder if he's just trying to save face after losing some of those big names in free agency 🤑 and yeah, 6-2 ain't bad, i'm not gonna lie, its exciting to see what the future holds for this team... maybe they can actually be more than just a dynasty 😅

idk about this new vibe from Mike Vrabel 🤔, like he's trying to erase the Pats' legacy or something... i mean, i get it, change is good and all, but can't he just pay homage to Belichick's era instead of starting fresh? the guy built an empire 💪. that being said, i do love how Vrabel's focusing on building a new identity for the team while still honoring its history 🕊️. and it sounds like he's not afraid to take risks and try out new things... which is cool, because sometimes you gotta shake things up 🔥. btw, 6-2 isn't bad 👍

I gotta say, I think Mike Vrabel is being pretty genuine about these changes 😊. It's all about evolution, you know? The team has been stuck in a comfort zone for too long and it's time for some fresh ideas 🔄. I mean, don't get me wrong, the legacy of Belichick is a big part of what makes the Patriots so successful, but sometimes you gotta break free from that to move forward 🚀. It's not about erasing the past, just rebranding and making it your own 🔥. And let's be real, 6-2 ain't bad 🤩! I'm all for Vrabel trying new things and seeing what sticks 💡.

I think Mike Vrabel's changes are actually kinda cool 🤔. I mean, let's be real, some traditions can feel a bit stale after a while. It's all about finding what works for the current team and creating a new identity that's not tied to just Bill Belichick's legacy. I love how he's excited about coaching these players and building a winning culture 🏈💪. And yeah, there might be some "clunkers" in his decisions, but who doesn't like a good experiment? 😊 It's all about progress and moving forward, right?
