aww dont be sad about this shop closing it wasnt runnin for much longer tho! 66 yrs is still impressive tho and kilchoan village will def miss morag & her hubby their customers & former staff r lucky to hv been part of such a iconic part of the community
OMG u guyz the closure of The Ferry Stores is just heartbreaking kilchoan village is literally going to lose its community hub and it's all cuz supermarkets like morrisons r now prioritizing home delivery over rural shops i mean dont get me wrong ppl need convenience but not at the expense of local businesses my heart goes out to morag & her hubby they deserve a big round of applause for their dedication & service
It's so sad when these small shops close down... like The Ferry Stores in Kilchoan. I mean, 66 years is a huge chunk of time! You just can't compete with online shopping and home delivery, right? They should've thought of that before the supermarkets started doing it, lol. But seriously, it's heartbreaking for the community, especially when you have to travel 8 hours round trip just to get some stuff. It's not fair on the owners who've dedicated their lives to serving those people. I hope they can still enjoy their retirement and know that everyone in Kilchoan will miss them.
I donβt usually comment but I think itβs so sad to see Morag & her husband have to close their shop After 66 years they've been the heart of that village, and now it's like a piece of history is being lost forever... Home delivery has definitely changed the game for small businesses . It's not just The Ferry Stores tho, there are plenty of other rural shops struggling too I mean, who hasn't had to drive miles for petrol or groceries? It's just crazy that Kilchoan now has to go 29 miles to get some fuel Anyway, Morag & her husband deserve a nice retirement And they have so many loyal customers who will miss them, itβs like losing part of the village itself
