National cabinet to meet on Friday on health and disability funding – as it happened

Australian politicians always talking about money, can't they focus on the environment for once? I mean, Victoria's gonna be baked in 40C temps for a week - shouldn't we be using that cash to save our forests?

And what's with Trump saying those Australians "stayed a little off the frontlines" in Afghanistan? Like, what even is that supposed to mean? Should we be proud of not getting ourselves killed or what?

I'm not sure I agree with the plan on transferring NDIS costs back to states. How is that gonna help anyone? We need more funding, not less.

Mark Carney's coming to Australia soon - hopefully he'll talk about something other than just trade deals

And those protesters at the Tour Down Under cycling event? I get why they're upset about fossil fuels, but blocking the start of an important event like that? Can't they find a better way to make their point?

Malcolm Turnbull's welcome news for Australia - finally someone who knows what they're doing

Ugh, can you believe those record-breaking temps in Victoria? I mean, I know we're Australia and we're all about sunburns and barbies, but seven consecutive days over 40C? That's just crazy! 🤯 And to think it's only gonna get worse. Forest fires are a real concern now, especially with all the hot air around climate change... anyway, gotta give credit where credit is due - Malcolm Turnbull's welcome message for Greg Moriarty, I guess that's a positive sign or whatever. But seriously, who's gonna stop those bushfires? The NDIS funding deal's looking good tho - 23 billion bucks to help out our hospitals and whatnot. Guess it's about time we started taking care of ourselves instead of just talking the talk...
