Nations Championship to feature north v south hemisphere contest

Rugby's top nations are set to clash in a biennial tournament that will crown champions and determine which hemisphere dominates the sport. The 12-team Nations Championship, starting next summer, features six rounds of matches across the summer and autumn Test windows before three double-header fixture days on 27-29 November at Allianz Stadium.

The format for the finals weekend is designed to create an incredible spectacle with a culmination that promises to crown champions. However, while the winners will be crowned, only two teams from each hemisphere will qualify for a second place match, but no promotion or relegation.

England has been banned from selecting R360 recruits for their national team, as have New Zealand, Ireland, France, Scotland, Australia, South Africa and Italy.

I think this Nations Championship is gonna be lit ๐Ÿคฉ! Having the top nations go head-to-head in a biennial tournament is gonna create some epic rivalries. But, I'm not sure about the format for the finals weekend... having only two teams from each hemisphere qualify for a second place match kinda feels like it's not giving all teams a fair shot? ๐Ÿค” Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of crowning champions and seeing which hemisphere dominates, but maybe we could've seen more teams get a chance to shine? ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ’ช

omg the rugby nations championship sounds lit ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‰ i mean who doesn't love a good biennial tournament where the big guns come out to play? but seriously, it's kinda weird that only two teams from each hemisphere get to fight for second place... seems like they're gonna leave some talented players stuck on the bench ๐Ÿ˜”

and what's up with all these countries being banned from selecting R360 recruits? is it because of some rule change or something? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ either way, i hope the teams can still find a way to make their squads work... don't wanna see any talented players get left behind ๐Ÿ’”

omg can't believe they're not letting anyone in ๐Ÿ™„ meanwhile the "champions" get to play in a mini-tournament with only 2 teams from each hemisphere gonna be so exciting watching the same old countries win again ๐Ÿคฏ at least its not like they're going to make it super competitive or anything ๐Ÿ˜’

omg imagine playing rugby with the best of the best ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ‰ like who's gonna come out on top in this 12-team tournament? ๐Ÿค” i think it's a bit weird that no promotion or relegation tho, feels like they're just keeping it all within these established nations ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ but at least we get to see some epic matches next summer! ๐Ÿ’ฅ and can you believe England's banned from selecting those R360 recruits? ๐Ÿ˜ฎ what's the story behind that anyway? ๐Ÿ‘€

I'm low-key hyped about this new Rugby Nations Championship thingy ๐Ÿคฉ. I mean, imagine the best teams from both sides of the world going head-to-head every summer ๐ŸŒž๐Ÿ‰. It's gonna be insane! But, tbh, the format is a bit meh... like, why only two teams from each hemisphere get a second chance? ๐Ÿ˜ It feels kinda unfair to the teams that don't make it to the finals ๐Ÿค•.

And, um, what's with the R360 recruits ban? ๐Ÿค” Like, I get it, they want to ensure everyone is on an equal playing field, but it's still pretty random. New Zealand's got some of the best players in the world, and now they can't even bring them onto the team? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I'm still stoked for the tournament, though! ๐ŸŽ‰ I'll be keeping an eye on how everything goes down ๐Ÿ‘€.

I gotta say, I'm both stoked and kinda disappointed about the Rugby Nations Championship ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ฅ. On one hand, it's awesome that we're seeing a major upgrade in rugby tournaments, with more teams and a bigger prize at stake. But on the other hand, I wish they'd include some sort of promotion/relegation system - you know, so teams can be held accountable for their performance and there's actual competition throughout the season ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

And what's up with all the bans? ๐Ÿ™„ England, New Zealand, Ireland, France... it's like, come on guys! Let your young players develop and compete without being stifled by these rules. I get it, they're trying to protect their teams from injuries or whatever, but it feels like a bit of a blanket ban ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Maybe there's a way to find a balance between player safety and competitive integrity? ๐Ÿค”

So the Rugby Nations Championship is a thing now ๐Ÿค”... I'm not entirely sure about it, but I guess it's cool that top nations are gonna get together and fight for supremacy ๐Ÿ’ช. The idea of biennial tournaments sounds a bit intense, though - what if some teams just can't keep up? ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ I mean, promotion and relegation would be a great way to add an extra layer of competition... but no, apparently not in this case ๐Ÿ˜.

And what's with the restrictions on team composition? 360 recruits from England? That's a lot of talent being left out in the cold ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And France and Italy are also banned? It seems like a bit of a bottleneck already ๐Ÿ‘€... I just hope they can get it right and create an epic spectacle come November ๐ŸŽ‰

so the new rugby nations championship is gonna be lit! ๐Ÿ˜Ž 12 teams going head-to-head in a biennial tournament - that's some serious competition right there! ๐Ÿ† but i'm not sure about the lack of promotion or relegation... it kinda feels like they're holding back the growth of some teams just 'cause it's only for two teams from each hemisphere. ๐Ÿค” and what's up with all these nations being banned from selecting players from other countries? r360 recruits, huh? seems like a pretty strict rule to me! ๐Ÿ‘Š maybe it's just to keep things fair and equal or something...

omg rugby is back with a bang! biennial tournament is gonna be lit ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ‰ but hold up who needs promotion or relegation right? it's all about the prestige and bragging rights, amirite? ๐Ÿ™ƒ those teams that get left out must be all like "woe is us" meanwhile we got our 6-7 top nations duking it out for supremacy ๐Ÿ”ฅ and btw what's up with the R360 recruits ban? sound like some secret handball going on ๐Ÿ˜ anyway, cant wait to see England get their butt kicked by Ireland or something ๐Ÿคฃ

I'm low-key hyped about the new Rugby Nations Championship format ๐Ÿคฉ... said no one ever! I think it's a total snooze fest โ€“ who wants to watch a bunch of teams play each other for months on end? The whole thing feels like a long, drawn-out summer camp. And don't even get me started on the finals weekend โ€“ three days of rugby games? No thanks, give me something with a little more excitement, like a shorter tournament with more dramatic matches. I mean, who needs promotion and relegation when you can just have the winner-takes-all mentality? It's all about bragging rights, right? ๐Ÿ†

omg is this tournament gonna be lit!!! i cant wait to see all the top nations go head to head in a real competition ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ˜ rugby needs a major upgrade and this format sounds like just what it needs! two teams from each hemisphere competing for 2nd place, but no promotion or relegation? that's so unfair lol. but seriously, its gonna be amazing to see the best of the best go up against each other ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ”ฅ and those double header fixture days in november sound like the perfect way to wrap up the tournament ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ˜Ž

I think its gonna be crazy for the Rugby Nations Championship! ๐Ÿคฏ I mean, the fact that only 2 teams from each hemisphere are gettin promoted or relegated is a bit weird, right? Like what's the point of havin a tournament if no one's gettin benched or makin moves up or down the ladder? ๐Ÿค” And don't even get me started on England and New Zealand bein banned from selectin new players... like, what's the logic there? Are they tryna keep it fresh or somethin'? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I donโ€™t usually comment but... I'm kinda salty about this new rugby tournament ๐Ÿค”. On one hand, it's awesome to see the best nations going head-to-head every other year. The stakes are high and it should be a blast for fans. But on the other hand, I feel like this format is missing out on some of the excitement that comes with competition. Promotion and relegation can really add an extra layer of tension to the sport ๐Ÿ†. And what's up with no promotion or relegation between the two hemispheres? It feels a bit... unfair ๐Ÿ˜. Still, I'm curious to see how it all shakes out in practice ๐Ÿ‘€

OMG, the Rugby Nations Championship is gonna be EPIC!!! ๐Ÿคฏ Did you know that the global rugby audience is projected to reach 1.5 BILLION people by 2027? ๐ŸŒŽ That's a huge chunk of the global population! As for the tournament format, I think it's cool that they're keeping it simple with no promotion or relegation... but what about player welfare? ๐Ÿค” How are teams gonna stay healthy and fresh throughout the grueling summer and autumn seasons? ๐Ÿฅ

By the way, have you seen these stats on rugby participation in the US? ๐Ÿ“Š They've grown by 25% since 2019! ๐Ÿ’ช And globally, rugby is expected to surpass soccer in popularity among Gen Z! ๐ŸŒŸ Can't wait to see how this biennial tournament shakes things up! ๐Ÿค”

I'm low-key hyped for this Rugby Nations Championship ๐Ÿ‰๐Ÿ˜…. The fact that the top nations are coming together is gonna make for some epic matches. I've heard the format's a bit weird tho ๐Ÿค” - 12 teams just seems like too many to me, it'll be hard to get everyone played out evenly. And what's with the no promotion/relegation thing? Don't wanna see any of the big countries getting a free pass because they're from the same hemisphere ๐Ÿ˜’. But at the end of the day, it's all about the rugby, and I'm here for it! The finals weekend at Allianz Stadium is gonna be lit ๐ŸŽ‰. Can't wait to see which teams come out on top... or if England will finally get their act together after that recruitment ban ๐Ÿ˜‚.

omg can't believe england is out of the nations championship lol what's going on with them ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‰ anyway this tournament is gonna be lit! 12 teams from around the world competing for rugby supremacy ๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ† i feel bad for scotland tho been through all that turmoil ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ’ช but it's not like they can't compete hard ๐Ÿ’ฅ on a related note, no promotion or relegation? what's the point of that ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ seems like just another way to avoid hurting anyone's feelings ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿค” this is gonna be a wild ride... top nations goin head to head every other summer? the format sounds intense but what's the point of not havin a promotion or relegation system tho? teams just get stuck in a rut ๐Ÿ”„

Ugh man, this is gonna be epic! A biennial tournament with the best teams in rugby? Can't wait to see how it all plays out ๐Ÿคฉ! But seriously, I'm a bit miffed that England's got no chance of picking any new blood for their team... what about all those young talented players who wanna represent their country? It feels like they're being left behind ๐Ÿ™„. And don't even get me started on the lack of promotion/relegation - it just doesn't feel right, ya know? Like, why can't teams get a chance to earn their way up or down the ranks? ๐Ÿค”

OMG u guyz i cant even ๐Ÿคฏ its like rugby is gettin more intense!! lol jk but seriously i'm lowkey hyped for this nations championship ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ”ฅ and the fact that its a biennial tournament means we'll get to see some epic clashes between teams from diff hemispheres ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‰ soooo can't wait for next summer! btw what's up with england gettin banned from selektin r360 players tho? ๐Ÿ˜‚ i mean i feel them, the 18-23 age group is key in rugby but cmon its not like its gonna bring a change to the sport or anythin ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‰
