Neneh Cherry, Celeste, Nadine Shah and Brian Eno join Christmas No 1 race with Palestine charity single

A Star-Studded Single for a Noble Cause: Lullaby Joins the Christmas No. 1 Rush

In an effort to raise vital funds for Palestinian-led organisations, a talented collective of musicians has come together to reimagine the traditional Palestinian lullaby 'Yamma Mwel El Hawa (Mama, Sing to the Wind)' as a heartwarming and uplifting Christmas single. Titled 'Lullaby', this poignant reworking features an all-star lineup including Neneh Cherry, Nadine Shah, Celeste, Brian Eno, and a host of other celebrated artists.

Peter Gabriel has penned the new English-language lyrics for the song, which promises to deliver an emotional reminder of the hope, defiance, beauty, and dignity that defines the Palestinian people. Brian Eno, known for his influential work in the music world, has stated: "We want to end the year with a message of love for Palestine's children. Lullaby reflects their beauty, longing and hope."

The 'Lullaby' project is the brainchild of those behind September's Together for Palestine charity show, which brought together an impressive roster of musicians in support of Palestinian causes. This new single will raise vital funds for the Choose Love charity's Together for Palestine Fund, supporting frontline organisations such as Taawon, the Palestine Children's Relief Fund and the Palestine Medical Relief Society.

The 'Lullaby' track boasts a talented cast of contributors, including Kieran Brunt and Nai Barghouti on arrangement and composition duties. Additional performers include Amena El Abd, Dan Smith of Bastille, Lana Lubany, London Community Gospel Choir, Sura Abdo, Tyson, Yasmeen Ayyashi and Ysee.

In a statement, artist Malak Mattar has created the song's striking artwork, drawing inspiration from Gazan painterly traditions. This visually stunning single promises to inspire listeners with its powerful message of love and solidarity for Palestine.

Fans are urged to preorder 'Lullaby' as part of a concerted effort to secure Christmas No 1 status, joining forces with Kylie Minogue, Denise Welch and other festive favourites vying for the top spot. With this heartfelt single, the collective is hoping to turn that coveted position into vital life-saving support for Gaza's families.

As fans eagerly await the announcement on December 19th, hopes are high that 'Lullaby' will join the ranks of other iconic Christmas singles and bring a touch of hope to an often tumultuous world.

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s really cool how people from different parts of the music industry are coming together for a good cause πŸŽΆπŸ’–. It's amazing that 'Lullaby' has a message of love and solidarity, especially during this time of year when we're all about spreading positivity and kindness ❀️. The fact that they're using their platform to raise funds for frontline organisations in Palestine is just incredible πŸ’ͺ. Let's hope it reaches number one on the charts and brings some much-needed support to those who need it most 🀞

🎢 I don't know about this one... how do we even verify the claims about Peter Gabriel writing new lyrics? Can anyone point me to a credible source saying he wrote them? And what's with the 'brainchild' of the charity show organizers being presented as if it's some kinda magical spark that led to this all-star project... where's the info on how the collaboration happened and who was involved in the actual making of the song? πŸ€”

I'm loving this collab 🎢🌟! Lullaby has all the right ingredients - talented artists, a meaningful cause, and that Peter Gabriel's words are just pure magic ✨. It's so inspiring to see people coming together like this for Palestine's children 🀝. The fact that it's a Christmas single just makes it feel more special and like we're spreading love & hope during the most wonderful time of the year ❀️. Let's get 'Lullaby' on that No 1 spot and make some real difference!

I think its gonna be a big hit this christmas season πŸŽ„πŸ‘ I love how all these talented artists have come together for a good cause, it's really beautiful πŸ€— The fact that the song is raising money for the children in gaza is just heartbreaking πŸ’”

Ugh, I'm so over these "star-studded" charity singles πŸ™„. Can't they just support Palestine through their actual music instead of rehashing old lullabies? And what's with the pretentious artwork by Malak Mattar? It looks like something out of a high school art project πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. I mean, I get it, supporting Gaza is important, but can't they do it without making such a big production out of it? And preordering the song to get it on the Christmas No 1? That's just so... extra πŸ’Έ. Can't we just have a genuine discussion about Palestine and its struggles without all the hype and drama? πŸ€”

I'm so over this platform and its Christmas cheer πŸŽ„πŸ˜’. Like, can't we just have a decent discussion without all these charity singles flooding our feeds? It's getting old. And don't even get me started on the fact that some big-name artists are using their platforms to push their own causes, rather than actually doing something meaningful behind the scenes. I mean, Peter Gabriel pensing lyrics for a song about Palestine... isn't that just another way of profiting off someone else's struggle? πŸ€‘ Not saying it can't be good music or anything, but let's not pretend like this is some kind of altruistic effort. Preordering this single to secure Christmas No 1 status just feels so shallow to me. Can we please just have a critical discussion about the state of our platform and its tendency to prioritize clickbait over substance? πŸ€”

🎢🌟 this is amazing! 🀩 i mean, who doesn't love a good christmas sing-along? πŸŽ…οΈ but seriously, it's so cool that these talented artists are coming together for a noble cause πŸ™. i'm all about supporting those who need it most ❀️. peter gabriel's lyrics sound like they're going to give me all the feels πŸ€— and brian eno is just the man 😎. let's get this single on the charts and make a difference πŸ’–! can't wait for dec 19th πŸ“†πŸŽ‰

omg i'm so hyped about this new single πŸŽΆπŸ’– its amazing how music can come together to raise awareness for something so important like palestine's situation 🌟 i love that peter gabriel wrote the english lyrics, he's always been a voice for social justice and i think it's so cool that brian eno is part of this project too 🎢 his music has such a calming effect, perfect for a lullaby πŸ™ what i'm most looking forward to is when we can all listen to this together on christmas day and feel the love and solidarity πŸ’•

Imagine 🌟 a big heart symbol ^^^^ filled with kindness, love and support ❀️ for Palestine πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ. That's what this amazing project 'Lullaby' is all about 🎢! It brings together super talented artists like Neneh Cherry and Peter Gabriel to make a beautiful Christmas single πŸ’• that raises funds for charity πŸ‘. I think it's brilliant that they're using music as a powerful tool to spread love and hope ❀️, especially during the holiday season when kindness and generosity are on everyone's minds πŸŽ„. The fact that they're supporting vital organisations like Taawon and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside 😊!

I gotta say, this Star-Studded Single thing sounds like total BS πŸ€‘... I mean, what's next? A charity single for every hot cause under the sun? It's just a bunch of rich celebs trying to get their names out there while pretending to care about Palestine πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I'm not saying they're all bad people or anything, but let's be real, this is just a clever marketing ploy to boost album sales and get some goodwill vibes going πŸ’Έ.

And have you noticed how every single charity song we hear at Christmas time has a hidden agenda? It's always something to do with politics or corporate interests πŸ€₯. I mean, what about the artists making all that dough off our donations? Is it really going straight to the chosen charities or is it just getting funneled into some big corporate wallet? πŸ€‘

I'm loving this collab between artists! 🎢❀️ It's amazing how music can be used for such a great cause, raising funds for Palestinian-led organisations 🌟. I've always been a fan of Peter Gabriel's work and it's awesome to see him penning lyrics for this song. The fact that Brian Eno is involved too adds an extra layer of depth to the track.

I'm curious to hear how the final product sounds, but what I love most about this initiative is the collective effort behind it 🀝. It's a powerful reminder that we all have a role to play in supporting causes close to our hearts. And who knows, maybe 'Lullaby' will become another classic Christmas single πŸŽ„. Fingers crossed for a Christmas No 1 spot and most importantly, for the vital funds raised for Palestine! πŸ’–

omg 🀩 this is literally the most beautiful thing i've ever heard!! lullaby is going to be no 1 on christmas charts for def lol πŸŽ…οΈ peter g Gabriel's lyrics are so powerful and poignant, it gives me chills thinking about all the love and hope being sent to palestine 🌹🎢 i'm already listening to this single like 100 times a day, my fave is celeste's part tho πŸ™Œ neneh cherry's voice is everything ❀️ can't wait for the preorder to drop on dec 19th! 🀩

I'm so down for this collab 🀩! I think it's amazing how these talented artists are using their platform to raise awareness about Palestine 🌎 #LullabyForPalestine #ChristmasNo1Please πŸŽ…οΈ. It's a beautiful message of love and hope, especially during the holiday season ❀️ #HopeOverHate #SolidarityForever πŸ’–. The fact that it's supporting frontline organisations like Taawon and the Palestine Children's Relief Fund makes me even more excited to listen to this single 🎡 #GivingBack #PalestineDeservesLove
