I gotta say, it's not a shock that Netflix is letting go of Spry Fox ... I mean, we all knew they were shifting their focus to more established IPs and party games, right? It's like they're saying, "Hey, we've got this mobile game thing covered, let's focus on what we're good at." But at the same time, it's a bummer for fans of Cozy Grove and Alphabear... I mean, those games were so much fun!
And yeah, Spirit Crossing is definitely outside of Netflix's new strategy . I think it's cool that Spry Fox gets to keep developing it on its own terms though... it'll be interesting to see how they navigate the publishing landscape without Netflix's backing . I'm rooting for them!
omg i'm lowkey shocked lol nflix was like "hey we dont need game studios anymore" i mean spry fox had some great games but like the shift in strategy makes sense i guess? theyre all about ip and social party games now which is kinda cool i think. the fact that spry fox gets to keep spirit crossing tho is a bummer, id love to play that game on pc maybe this sale will be good for them, who knows?
I gotta say, I'm kinda surprised Netflix is selling back to the founders . I mean, it's not like they're losing money or anything, right? It's all about control and stability, and if that means giving up some potential profit margins... idk, maybe it's a win-win? The founders get their studio back, and Spry Fox gets more freedom to take risks . I'm also curious to see how "Spirit Crossing" is gonna do on its own now . Will Netflix's publisher support hold them back or boost their chances of success? Time will tell...
I'm kinda surprised that Netflix decided to let go of a studio that had already made some great games... like Cozy Grove and Alphabear They were always fun to play! Now, with Spry Fox being sold back to its founders, I wonder if they'll be able to make "Spirit Crossing" work on other platforms Maybe this move is actually a good thing for the game? At least now the studio gets to have more control over their own destiny... and that's always a positive change
omg what's goin on w/ netflix & gaming they used to be all about acquire studios & now its like they dont no wut dey wanna do spry fox is literally the only game thats still got some potential left in it, hope dem original founders can make magic happen again
