Netflix's Animated 'Ghostbusters' Movie Shows Signs of Life

Netflix's Animated 'Ghostbusters' Movie Gains Momentum, Leaves Fans Wondering

In a move that has left fans of the iconic franchise eagerly awaiting an update, it appears Sony and Netflix are finally making strides on their animated 'Ghostbusters' film. According to recent reports, writer Sam Jarvis, known for her work on the critically acclaimed comedy series Dolce & Gabbana's Dolface, has joined the project as a screenwriter.

This new addition brings Jarvis in line with an already impressive writing team, including Yoni Brenner and Kristy Hall, who penned earlier drafts of the script. Director Kris Pearn, known for his work on The Tiger's Apprentice, is at the helm of this new animated entry into the Ghostbusters universe.

While details about the film's premise remain scarce, it's unclear if Sony's initial plan to tell the story from the ghosts' perspective will still hold true. However, it's worth noting that this is not Sony's first foray into adapting the franchise for animation – a Netflix series was announced in 2022 with limited information since then.

The fate of potential live-action spin-offs, including the next installment after Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, remains uncertain at present. With both Netflix and Sony collaborating on this project, it seems that fans can expect to see a plethora of 'Ghostbusters' content in the near future – much of which will likely make its way onto Netflix.

The animated film's direction is expected to be significantly different from the earlier live-action movies, with Pearn bringing his expertise in animation and storytelling to bring a fresh take on the beloved franchise. As production continues, fans can only hope that these new developments will shed more light on what's to come – and when we might finally get our hands on this long-awaited animated 'Ghostbusters' film.

I don’t usually comment but I just started watching all the Ghostbuster movies back in the day 🕷️💀 and I gotta say, an animated one is kinda lit! I mean, it's been a while since we got any new info on this project, so hopefully they can bring something fresh to the table. The live-action movies are awesome but an animated one would be a great way to introduce the franchise to some younger fans 🎉👀. And with all these writers and directors coming together, I'm hyped to see what they'll create! Fingers crossed it's out soon so we can get our Ghostbuster fix 💥

🤔 I'm so hyped for this new Ghostbusters animated movie! I loved the originals and the new live-action movies were fun too, but an animated one sounds like it could be really special. The fact that Kris Pearn is directing is a big plus - his work on The Tiger's Apprentice shows he can handle action and humor well. Fingers crossed they stay true to the spirit of the original characters... I'm curious about what will happen next with Sony's live-action plans too! 🎃

omg have you guys ever tried those new sour gummies they just dropped at the store 🤤 i swear my tongue is still recovering from the flavor bomb 😂 anyway back to ghostbusters - i'm super hyped for the new animated movie, but like can we talk about how amazing it's gonna be if they add a 'ghost hunting' competition episode to dolce & gabbana's dolface 🎉 i'd totally watch that 💀

Wow 🤔👻 This is so interesting! They're bringing in a whole new team of writers, and it sounds like they're making some big changes to the story. A Netflix series came out last year but didn't get much info, so it's weird that now they're teaming up with Sony again. But hey, more Ghostbusters content is always a good thing! 🎃👍

I'm kinda hyped about this new Ghostbusters animation 🤔 but also a bit worried it'll be all over the place. Sony & Netflix are throwing some big names into the mix, so fingers crossed they can bring something fresh to the table 🎥. The fact that Kris Pearn is at the helm makes me think we might see a more animated take on the classic franchise 😅. I'm curious if they'll stick to the original plan or try to revamp it entirely... either way, I hope it's good! 🤞

🤔 I'm super excited about this new Ghostbusters animated movie 🎃! With the amazing writing team and director Kris Pearn at the helm, I think it's gonna be a wild ride 🚀. I mean, have you seen The Tiger's Apprentice? That guy knows how to bring animation magic ✨. I hope they stick to what made us love Ghostbusters in the first place – the laughs and the spooky-ooky vibes 😂. I'm also kinda curious about this change from ghost perspective... maybe it'll be a fresh spin on an old classic 🔄. Fingers crossed production goes smoothly, and we get to see this movie sooner rather than later ⏰!

awww man, it's so exciting to hear about a new Ghostbusters animated movie 🎃👻! I've been waiting for ages for an update on this one. having sam jarvis join the team is like a dream come true, she's got such a great track record with dolce & gabbana's dolface, i'm sure she'll bring so much heart and humor to the script 💕📝

and kris pearn as director is just awesome, he's clearly got a great eye for animation and storytelling. this project is shaping up to be really special, I love that it's not just another rehash of old ideas, but instead getting to explore new ways of bringing ghostbusters to life 🎨👍

fans are gonna get so much content soon, can't wait to see the final product! fingers crossed it's everything we've been hoping for

🤔 I'm low-key skeptical about this whole thing 🙅‍♂️. Sony and Netflix teaming up to make a Ghostbusters animated movie? Sounds like a clever marketing ploy 🤑 to me. I mean, why do we need another Ghostbusters film when the last one was already out? Are they just trying to cash in on our nostalgia for the original franchise? 😐 And what's with all these changes to the script and direction? It's like they're trying to confuse us on purpose 🤯. I'm not saying it can't be a good movie, but I need some more convincing before I start hyping it up 💥.

idk why ppl r so hyped about another ghostbusters movie...ive seen the old ones like 10 times & they still dont make sense lol 😂👻 think sony n netflix are just tryin to cash in on the franchise's nostalgia. dont get me wrong, i love a good animated flick, but we need somethin new & original, not just another rehash of the same old ghostbusters formula 🤔👀
