Ugh, I'm loving all these money management tools, but it's crazy how much we rely on technology to stay organized with our cash ... like, what happened to just keeping a notebook or something? Anyway, Compare-the-Market's Meerkat app is pretty cool - who wouldn't want rewards for getting takeout? But seriously, having an emergency fund calculator is super important, especially now that rent prices are, like, out of control . And Too Good To Go is amazing for reducing food waste... but have you seen the prices of avocado toast lately?! . I'm also glad to see some banks offering home energy efficiency tools - we gotta save our planet (and our pennies)!
I'm glad they're offering all these tools & resources to help people manage their money better . But, I gotta say, some of 'em seem a bit too convenient for my liking... like the Meerkat app, where you get rewards just for buying stuff? Sounds like a setup to encourage overspending . And what's with the emphasis on compare prices? Don't we already have enough price comparison websites out there?
On a more positive note, I love that they're focusing on reducing food waste with Olio and Too Good To Go - it's crazy how much unnecessary food gets thrown away every day! And those emergency fund calculators from the Post Office could be super helpful for people who are struggling to save up . The home energy efficiency tool is also a great idea, especially since it's tailored to individual needs .
But what about people who don't have access to these resources? What about those living in rural areas or with limited internet connectivity? I hope they're not going to leave anyone behind .
I'm telling you, it's all about the surveillance state . They're tracking our every move, from what we buy to how much we save... they know exactly how much money is coming in and going out of our accounts. And now, they've got this "Emergency fund calculator" that's basically just a tool for them to monitor our financial stability . I mean, who needs personal finance resources like this when the government can just keep tabs on everything? It's all about control, folks... and I'm not buying it .
just saw this thread about all these money management tools and I gotta say, I'm a bit late to the party lol but seriously, I've been using hyperjar for ages now and it's been a game changer for me. I love that I can separate my money into different jars (literally) and track where I'm spending it. also, the fact that it has a physical card is so convenient. and olio? what a great idea! I've tried too good to go before and it's amazing how much food you can get for next to nothing
