NFL Thanksgiving games: Love powers Packers over Lions; Cowboys and Bengals win

Packers Survive Lions Test as Love Shines in Career-Defining Performance

Thursday's NFL Thanksgiving Day games saw a dramatic turn of events at Lambeau Field, where Jordan Love led the Green Bay Packers to a hard-fought 31-24 win over the Detroit Lions. The Packers' eighth-game victory secured their spot in second place in the NFC North behind Chicago, who face Philadelphia on Friday.

Love's standout performance was nothing short of remarkable, as he converted two fourth-down touchdown passes in the first half and finished with a career-high four touchdown throws to seal the win. His 234 yards through the air marked a new high for him this season. Christian Watson proved to be his go-to target, with the wide receiver scoring on a 51-yard touchdown pass that gave Green Bay an early lead of 24-14 in the third quarter.

The Lions' chances of making the playoffs seemed increasingly distant as they fell further behind in the division standings. After being out of the playoff picture just a week ago, Detroit's loss has now put them three losses shy of a Wild Card spot. The two-time defending division champion team saw their winning ways dwindle with three straight setbacks.

On the other side of the Thanksgiving Day slate, the Dallas Cowboys continued to assert themselves in the NFC by edging out the Kansas City Chiefs 31-28. Dak Prescott led the charge, tossing for two touchdowns while CeeDee Lamb notched 112 receiving yards. The victory pushed the Cowboys into third place in their division.

Meanwhile, quarterback Patrick Mahomes was his usual self, with four touchdown passes in a performance that would have been impressive had it occurred in any other game but this one. However, Dallas's defense rose to meet him. One of Mahomes' fourth-down conversions was dropped by Jameson Williams, allowing the Cowboys to secure their win.

In another highly competitive matchup, the Cincinnati Bengals took down the Baltimore Ravens 32-14. For Joe Burrow and the Bengals, it marked a much-needed turnaround from their recent string of losses, with Burrow landing two second-half touchdowns in the game-winning performance.

omg i'm low-key impressed by jordan love's performance 🀯πŸ’₯ he's like that one quarterback from jersey who always seems to make clutch throws πŸ“ΊπŸˆ but seriously, green bay's win is huge for their playoff hopes and christian watson's 51-yard td catch was straight fire πŸ”₯πŸ”΄οΈ can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for packers fans 🀞

just when you thought love couldn't get any more awkward on the field lol 🀣 seriously though, jordan love's career-defining performance was insane! i mean, who needs a first down when you can just launch it 51 yards to christian watson? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ but for real, love showed some serious grit and poise out there. and the packers' win puts them in a pretty good spot in the nfc north... still gotta keep an eye on chicago though 😏

omg i'm so hyped for the packers!!! jordan love is literally on fire this season πŸš€πŸ”₯ he's got skills for days! i was watching the game with my friends and we were all screaming at the tv when he threw that 51-yard touchdown pass to christian watson 🀩 it was such an exciting finish to the game. and the lions just can't seem to get anything going right rn πŸ˜” their chances of making the playoffs are looking really slim now. i'm loving the packers' chances of winning the division tho! πŸ’ͺ

🀯 what a crazy game!!! i'm still on the edge of my seat thinking about jordan love's performance! he was unstoppable out there πŸ”„ and that 4th down conversion from christian watson was pure magic ✨. i mean, it's not every day you see a quarterback convert 2 fourth downs in a row with touchdowns 😲. and the packers' defense held strong against the lions, keeping them within reach πŸ‘. as for the cowboys' win, dak prescott is definitely having an MVP season πŸ™Œ. but seriously, these games were so intense! my nerves are still going 🀯

omg i'm so glad the packers won that was such a crazy game 🀯! love's career-defining performance was insane, those fourth-down TDs were clutch!!! and christian watson is becoming my fave player lol 🀩 but ugh the lions are like really struggling now they gotta regroup and find their momentum again ⏱️

lol what's up Packers fans I remember when Rodgers was still leading them to wins but now Jordan Love is showing off his skills πŸ’ͺ🏽 he's got that magic touch for fourth-down conversions, reminds me of Aaron Rodgers back in the day πŸ˜‚ anyway, 234 yards and four TDs are huge numbers for him, Christian Watson is his go-to target, they make a great combo πŸ‘. But seriously, the Lions were expected to have a better season, this loss puts them in a tough spot to make playoffs...

Love is just so sweet πŸ€—! Jordan Love really showed off his skills today & I'm loving how he's got that swagger out there on the field πŸ’ͺ! It's awesome to see him growing as a QB, especially with all those 4th down conversions 🎯. The Packers' win definitely gives them a boost in the division standings, but I think they still need to work on their defense πŸ€”. As for Dak Prescott, he's really proving himself to be one of the top QBs in the league πŸ’«! CeeDee Lamb is looking fast as ever πŸ˜‚! Can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds for these teams πŸ‘€

man this love guy is on fire πŸš€ his numbers are insane and he's really starting to prove himself as a leader on the field lol who would've thought that christian watson would be his go-to target though? and those 4tds for love are just...wow. the lions just can't catch a break right now they need to regroup and get their game face back on or else it's gonna be tough for them

OMG I was soooo living vicariously through Jordan Love today 🀩! He's literally on fire right now and I am HERE. FOR. IT! I mean, four touchdown passes? That's insane for a guy who's been struggling to find his footing all season. Christian Watson is straight up the GOAT with him tho πŸ’―, that 51-yard TD pass was INSANE. The Packers are definitely in it to win it now and I'm so hyped to see what the rest of the season has in store! 🏈
