Novak Djokovic mows down qualifier Maestrelli at Australian Open

Novak Djokovic dominated Italian qualifier Francesco Maestrelli in a one-sided contest at the Australian Open on Thursday. The Serbian superstar cruised into the third round of the Grand Slam tournament with a straight-sets victory, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

The fourth-seeded Djokovic was untroubled throughout his match against the 141st-ranked world player. He broke Maestrelli early in both sets two and three, putting pressure on his younger opponent to capitalise on several chances. Maestrelli's only moments of joy came after breaking Djokovic twice in the third set, but the Serbian legend regrouped to seal the win.

Djokovic expressed respect for his young opponent, despite knowing little about him until recently. The 38-year-old acknowledged that Maestrelli had a big serve and a solid game, but lacked experience to compete with the best. Djokovic also praised Maestrelli's potential, wishing him success in his pursuit of world rankings.

With this win, Djokovic extended his record to 399th Grand Slam match victory, one shy of Roger Federer's all-time record. He now sets his sights on a Melbourne Park title for the eleventh time, aiming to break Margaret Court's deadlock as the player with most Grand Slam trophies.

OMG I'm so glad Djokovic won that one-sided match πŸŽΎπŸ‘! I mean, Maestrelli was a good try, but let's be real, Djokovic is on a whole different level right now πŸ˜‚. The guy's still playing like a pro at 38 and it's crazy to think he'll break Federer's record soon ⏰! But honestly, I do feel bad for Maestrelli, he was just so outmatched πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Djokovic did seem pretty nice about it though, wishing him success and all that πŸ’•. Maybe this win will be a springboard for Maestrelli to get more experience and come back stronger in the future 🌟.

man djokovic is still killing it πŸ™Œ he's like 38 but he's dominating these young guns like nothing πŸ˜‚ Francesco maestrelli gotta respect his game but clearly needs some more experience under his belt πŸ€— anyway, Djokovic seems really classy about losing to younger opponents, always wishing them well 🀝 that's what makes him a true legend in my eyes πŸ’―

man this djokovic is on fire πŸ”₯ he's like a machine out there on the court πŸ€– and that maestrelli kid had no chance πŸ˜… i love how djokovic gave credit where credit was due tho, even though he knew nothing about his opponent till recently πŸ‘ it shows he's still got class and humility at 38 years young! πŸ‘΄ anyway, can't wait to see what the rest of the tournament has in store for us πŸŽΎπŸ‘€

omg djokovic is on fire πŸ”₯! he's like a machine out there on the court πŸ’¨ i mean, maestrelli was definitely no match for him 🀣 but seriously, djokovic is still one of the greatest tennis players of all time πŸ™Œ and it's awesome to see him break records left and right πŸ“ˆ i'm rooting for him to win that melbourne park title again πŸ†

man djokovic is still killing it 🀯 399th grand slam win and he's only one shy of federer's record? that's insane. i think maestrelli showed some decent stuff, but yeah Djokovic was just too polished for him 🎾 the serve was pretty big advantage for Maestrelli, but djokovic adjusted his game accordingly to take control. still gotta give it up to Maestrelli though, he's got potential and Djokovic himself said so. now that djokovic's on a roll, he'll be looking to add to that Grand Slam count πŸ†

OMG 🀯 Djokovic is like a machine out there! I mean, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2? That young guy Maestrelli didn't stand a chance πŸ˜‚. But for real though, the way Djokovic spoke about his opponent was really humbling. I feel like he's more than just a legend on the court, you know? He's got that respect and maturity thing down pat πŸ‘.

And can we talk about how close he is to Federer's record now?! 🀩 399 wins and counting... he's gonna break that record for sure! πŸ’₯ But let's not forget about Djokovic's ultimate goal – 11 Aussie Open titles. The pressure's on, Novak! πŸ’ͺ

Ugh I'm not surprised Djokovic won so easily lol 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 is like beating an opponent in a Sunday stroll 🀣 anyway, he's been playing for ages and it's no surprise he's still on top But seriously, that Francesco Maestrelli dude was just way out of his depth. I mean, being ranked 141st doesn't exactly scream "world-class player". And Djokovic is like 38, so what's the point of even calling him a superstar? He's just old and rich 😴

Djoko's still got it 🎾! I mean, 38 and dominating like that? He's defo one of the greatest of all time. And gotta respect Maestrelli for even stepping up against him - 141st in the world, that's like a huge step up. Djokovic could've taken it easy on him, but he went full throttle and showed some serious class. Plus, the kid's got potential, so who knows maybe we'll see more of him in the future πŸ€”? And can you believe Djoko's getting close to Federer's record? That's just crazy talk!

lol djokovic is getting old lol like 38 and still owning it but seriously who knew maestrelli was even in the draw lol shouldn't he be playing qualifiers every month or something? Djokovic seems pretty cool about Maestrelli's potential tho maybe he's trying to help the kid out πŸ˜‚

idk how Djokovic still manages to be so dominant even at 38 🀯 he's literally getting better with age like some kinda tennis superman πŸ’ͺ anyone think Maestrelli will ever crack the top 100 tho? lol seems unlikely πŸ˜… djokovic's gotta be one of the most clutch players in history, I mean that guy can close out matches from anywhere on the court πŸ‘Š

πŸ€” So Djokovic just dominated this guy Maestrelli like it's nothing πŸ™„ 399th GS win is crazy 😲 he's getting closer to Fed's record tho πŸ† and Aussie Open title #11 🎾 still on his mind πŸ‘Š Maestrelli has a good serve tho 🀝 and potential too 😊 but experience is key πŸ”‘

omg djokovic is like UNSTOPPABLE!!! 🀩 i mean, that guy just destroyed maestrelli lolol he deserves all the respect tho, give it up for the young kid trying his best! djokovic's game plan was on point, i loved how he mixed up his shots and kept maestrelli guessing. and can we talk about his serve? it's like the strongest in the world πŸŒͺ️ i'm so hyped for him to take on the rest of the competition and hopefully win that 11th aussie open title πŸ’₯ djokovic is literally a tennis god, what can i say πŸ˜‚πŸŽΎ

omg djokovic is getting closer to federer's record 🀯 i wonder what he'll do if he breaks it tho? 😎 djokovic seemed really calm and collected during that match πŸ™ he really knows how to get back on track after losing a set or two πŸ’ͺ

OMG u gotta love Djokovic's humility πŸ™! I mean, he could've easily gloat after thrashing this kid Maestrelli 6-0 but nope, he gives props where props are due πŸ’―. The dude's got game for days and is still killing it at 38 🀩. And can we talk about his serve? 😍 I'm low-key rooting for him to break that record now πŸ“ˆ!

It's crazy how far tennis has come since I was a kid and watching Djokovic play for the first time at Wimbledon 🎾! He's still got that magic, but I feel like he's playing more strategically now, you know? It's like he's studying his opponents before each match, just like Federer used to do back in the day. And can we talk about how weird it is that Maestrelli was a qualifier and still managed to give Djokovic a run for his money? I guess it's a reminder that anyone can have an off-day and beat someone they think they should easily defeat πŸ€”. Anyway, it's always exciting to see Djokovic dominate on the court, but sometimes I wish he'd take some risks and make more mistakes... haha just kidding! πŸ˜…

Djokovic is just dominating right now πŸ’ͺ. I mean, 6-3 in straight sets? Not even close! Maestrelli's only chance was getting broken by Djokovic a couple of times, and he couldn't take it from there πŸ€”. But you gotta give credit to the guy - he played well for his level, and Djokovic is being super classy about it 😊.

I'm curious to see how Maestrelli's career goes from here. He's got a big serve and game, but experience is key at this level πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Maybe Djokovic can help him out by mentoring or something? Who knows? All I know is that Djokovic is on fire πŸ”₯, and he's definitely in contention for that record now!

I'm not surprised Djokovic is killing it out there, he's been training hard and seems super focused πŸ‹οΈβ€β™‚οΈ. The fact that Maestrelli couldn't cope with all that pressure is actually pretty good for our mental health - it shows us what we need to work on when we're feeling overwhelmed πŸ™. Anyway, gotta respect Djokovic's humility about his opponent, even though he knew they were in over their head 😊. And I'm loving the fact that he's thinking about Maestrelli's potential, not just crushing them - it shows a level of sportsmanship and maturity πŸ‘. Can't wait to see what he does next at the Australian Open! 🎾

omg i cant even i think djokovic is literally unstoppable lol 6-3, 6-2, 6-2 he's like a machine on court! πŸ€– maestrelli was so brave to take him on but honestly, djokovic was too good for him 😊 anyway i'm super hyped that djokovic is getting closer to roger federer's record he needs only one more win to break it!!! πŸ’₯ and can you believe he's aiming for 11 aussie open titles now?! 🎾 that would be amazing!!

omg can u believe novak djokovic is getting closer 2 federers all-time record?? he played like a boss against that italy qualifier francesco maestrelli lol the guy didnt stand a chance 🀣 Djokovic seems really humble about it tho, giving props to his opponent's potential serve & game... i think he's probs gonna keep crushing in melbourne this year! btw, djokovic is getting older but still going strong, 38 and winning like a champ πŸŽΎπŸ‘
