NYC’s yearly HIV report shows slight rise in cases amid looming federal budget cuts

🤕 it's so worrying to hear that NYC is seeing an uptick in HIV cases 🚨 especially with budget cuts looming over their ability to tackle the issue. $41m might not seem like much but trust me when I say its a huge chunk of change for those affected by this disease 💸. poverty, homelessness, lack of insurance... its all so interconnected and these new diagnoses are basically telling us that people aren't getting access to the services they need 🌎. we can't let budget cuts come between people's lives 😩

🤕 The US is already dealing with so many issues - from budget cuts to rising HIV cases 🚨. It's like, can't we just make healthcare and social services accessible for everyone? 🤝 I'm all for investing in research and treatment programs, but at what cost? 💸 Cutting $41 million is a huge hit to the city's efforts to combat this epidemic. We need to think about how we're gonna address these underlying issues like poverty, homelessness, and lack of health insurance... it's not just about treating the symptoms 🤕. And what really concerns me is that 86% of new diagnoses are Black or Latino individuals - that's not a coincidence, that's systemic 🚫. We need to acknowledge these disparities and work towards solutions that aren't just band-aid fixes 💉.

omg 5.4% increase in HIV cases is still super concerning tho 🤕 think we need to do more than just talk about it, we gotta take action 💪 like what if they actually cut that $41m? who's gonna suffer then? poor ppl struggling w/ homelessness & lack of insurance already got enough on their plates 🤯 we can't let our guard down. btw, how many ppl actually get tested & diagnosed in time? is it still too hard to access healthcare in nyc? 💬
