I think its crazy that a cop got busted for manslaughter , like, if ur gonna throw a cooler at some dude, thats not cool ! its all about accountability, ya know? I mean I get it, the defense team said he acted in a split second, but come on, that's just an excuse . The fact that his colleagues are calling this verdict a "miscarriage of justice" makes me think they're worried about sending the wrong message to other cops . I mean, can't they see that its time for some change in the NYPD?

omg what's going through ur mind when u hear about a cop gettin convicted of manslaughter ?? the fact that duran used a cooler as a weapon is just CRAZY like who does that?? the defense team sayin he was tryin to protect himself but honestly it sounds like a pretty lame excuse to me i mean duh if ur in a situation where ur life is at risk take a step back and not go all vigilante on some poor guy

and can u believe the Sergeants Benevolent Association is callin out the verdict as a miscarriage of justice?? are they kiddin me? like, we get it cops have tough jobs but that doesn't give them a free pass to hurt ppl

anyway i guess its good that the trial drew attention to police accountability and brought some kinda closure for eric dupreys fam can u imagine how traumatic that must be for them

I'm literally shaking my head over this whole thing #JusticeForEric Duprey. I mean, what's the point of having a law enforcement system if it can't even protect us from officers like Erik Duran? It's heartbreaking to think about Eric's life slipping away in an instant because someone made a split-second decision that cost him his life #FBIshouldDoBetter.

It's time for us to take a step back and reevaluate our relationship with law enforcement . We need more accountability, not less . I'm glad the New York Attorney General's office acknowledged that this verdict brings justice to Eric's memory, but let's not get it twisted – one conviction doesn't change the systemic issues within our police departments #PoliceReformNow.

Duran may be serving time, but I hope he spends his days thinking about the family and friends who lost their loved ones due to his actions #AccountabilityMatters.
