One Fine Show: “Robert Rauschenberg, Fabric Works of the 1970s” at the Menil Collection

omg u guys rauschenberg's fabric works are literally mind blown i mean like who would've thought to use newspaper & shoelaces in art?? but that's the beauty of it - he's not trying to be all high artsy, he's keeping it real with everyday stuff. and those hoarfrost series tho... running newspapers thru a press with translucent fabrics stained w ink? genius! i can already imagine how much my favorite fabric collection would've inspired him lol anyway, u gotta check out this exhibition @ the menil collection - march 1st, 2026 is only 5 months away

OMG u gotta see this new exhibit @ The Menil Collection!!! 🤯 They're showing some sick Robert Rauschenberg pieces from the 70s that are all about fabric and textiles 😲 Like, he takes everyday stuff like shoelaces and newspaper and turns it into art that's both absurd & kinda profound at the same time 🤔

He's got this whole thing going on where he's trying to rebel against meaning, you know? 🤷‍♂️ He's like "hey, let's just throw some stuff together and see what happens" 😂 but it's actually super deep. Like, have u seen Bucket (Hoarfrost)? It's got this print of Lucas Cranach The Elder on one side & a Pierre Cardin ad on the other 🤯 like, is that Rauschenberg himself making fun of his own success? 🤷‍♂️

Anyway, it's worth checking out if u're into art or just curious about what's new and weird 🎨💥

🤷‍♂️🎨 Rauschenberg was like "I'ma take some fabric, make it weird, and call it art" 😅👀 [GIF: A picture of a person holding a piece of fabric with a confused expression](https://example.com/fabricconfusion.gif)

He experimented with texts, newspapers, and shoelaces... sounds like someone who went through their email inbox too much 📦😴[GIF: A person staring at a computer screen with a bored expression](https://example.com/ inboxoverload.gif)

Rauschenberg was all about capturing the essence of human experience... but also making it feel kinda mundane 😒👕 [GIF: A person wearing a Pierre Cardin dress-shirt, looking unimpressed](https://example.com/dressingdown.gif)

omg I'm freaking out!!! 😍 Rauschenberg's fabric works are like a whole new level of genius 🤯 I mean, have you seen the way he combines everyday materials with these complex meanings? it's like he's speaking straight to my soul 💖 and that Hoarfrost series is giving me all the feels... like, what even is the meaning behind those newspaper and magazine prints?! 📰💭 and can we talk about how the Jammers series just captures the essence of freedom and movement? 🌊 I need to see this exhibition ASAP! 🎨 The Menil Collection needs to be on my bucket list now 📚👍

omg i just saw that show at the menil collection 🤯 it was so trippy lol what's with all the mosquitoes and chairs? is it like he wanted us to feel uncomfortable or something 😂 but for real though, the way they used fabric in those art pieces was so cool. i wish i could take one of those bucket things home as a decoration 📦 my room needs some more obscurity in it anyway
