'One snub looms above all others' – the biggest losers of the TV Golden Globes

Snubbed by the Golden Globes: The UK Loses Out on The Pitt

While the winners of the 2024 Golden Globe Awards were largely as expected, with adolescence and The Studio dominating the categories, a glaring omission stands out - the UK audience. The highly acclaimed drama series, The Pitt, was snubbed in several categories, leaving British viewers feeling left out.

With six nominations, The White Lotus was expected to make a strong showing, but its absence from the winner's list is particularly puzzling. The show's creator, Mike White, has been praised for his writing, with plots that were often sharp and biting. However, this year's season was criticized for being less than stellar, with some episodes feeling overly long or poorly resolved.

Another show that failed to impress in the Golden Globes was Severance. Despite its critical acclaim and nominations for best drama, best actor, best actress, and best supporting actor, it fell flat on its second season. The show's attempt to tackle social commentary came across as forced, with direction that felt more like a screensaver than a cohesive vision.

On the other hand, Jean Smart's win for Hacks was largely seen as undeserved. Despite her character Deborah Vance being a comedic genius in theory, the late-night talkshow format of this season did not do her justice. Smart's performance felt more like an obligation to sell the show rather than a genuine portrayal of humor.

The real surprise, however, is The Pitt's omission from the awards list. As a drama series that has already won numerous awards, including Emmys and Television Critics Association awards, it would have been expected to receive recognition in the Golden Globes. Its absence feels like a snub, especially considering its success in other markets.

The reason for this snub is largely due to the lack of availability in the UK. Despite being available on HBO Max in the US and other parts of the world, British viewers are still waiting for their chance to watch The Pitt. This has left many feeling left out, wondering why they can't access such a highly acclaimed show.

In conclusion, while some winners were as expected, others felt like snubs. The omission of The Pitt from the Golden Globes is particularly puzzling, given its success in other markets and the fact that it's already won numerous awards. As for UK viewers, it seems they're out of luck until HBO Max arrives next March.

I'm so bummed about The Pitt not getting any love from the Golden Globes 🤕. I mean, who doesn't love a good drama series? And with all the nominations, you'd think it'd be a shoo-in for some awards. But nope, snubbed by the Globes 😔. It's like, what's the point of even having awards if they're not gonna recognize our own talent over here? 🤷‍♀️

And don't even get me started on The White Lotus 🙄. I mean, I've seen some episodes and it was alright, but it's no match for The Pitt in my book 👀. And Severance? More like Sever- waste 😴. I know some people loved it, but I just didn't get it.

It's a shame that UK viewers can't access The Pitt yet 📺. It's like they're being left out of the party 🎉. When is HBO Max going to come to our shores? Can someone please explain? 🤔

omg I'm literally so confused why didn't The Pitt get any love from the Golden Globes?! 🤔👀 they've got such a great show with awesome actors and it's already won tons of other awards. I mean what did the voters even do? 😂 was it just that it wasn't widely available in the UK or something? because that's no excuse! we should be able to access the best shows too, not just the ones that are broadcast on local channels. 🤷‍♀️ and btw I'm so over The White Lotus being snubbed too... they're like a total snooze fest after season 1 😴💤

omg u cant believe the golden globes snubbed the pitt!! i mean wut happened? they have 6 nominations but nothin?? its like they just dont care about brits watchin shows 🤷‍♂️ the white lotus was def due for a win tho, but i guess mike white didnt bring his a game this season lol. severance is soooo overrated btw. and jean smart winnin was like a joke - hes not even funny in real life 😂. its all so frustrating when u cant watch ur fave shows cuz they dont come out here 2 the uk 🤯 hbo max needs 2 hurry up & bring the pitt to our shores already!!! 📺

The Golden Globes just showed us how much our viewing habits matter 🤷‍♂️. I mean, The Pitt is a great show, and we Brits are still waiting to get our hands on it 📺. It's like, you'd think a show with that many awards under its belt would magically appear on HBO Max for us, but nope 💔. Meanwhile, other shows might be more 'popular' or whatever, but does that really matter? Can't we just appreciate the good stuff when we see it 🤗? The Golden Globes are supposed to be about recognizing excellence, not just catering to American tastes 🌎. Anyway, I'm rooting for The Pitt to finally hit our screens soon ⏰!

🤔 I'm kinda surprised to see The Pitt get snubbed at the Golden Globes, especially since it's a highly acclaimed show that's won plenty of other awards. I mean, six nominations is a lot, but not seeing any wins in major categories is weird. And yeah, The White Lotus was way overhyped this season if you ask me 🙄. Severance just didn't live up to its hype either, and Jean Smart's win for Hacks felt like a consolation prize.

But what really gets me is that UK viewers are still waiting for HBO Max to arrive next March... that's ages! It's not fair that we're missing out on such great content just because of some logistical issues with streaming. 📺 I'm hoping they'll finally get it sorted out soon so we can enjoy The Pitt and all the other awesome shows everyone else is watching.

I'm low-key disappointed 🤕 that The Pitt got snubbed by the Golden Globes... I mean, it's a critically acclaimed show with amazing writing and direction 💡. I've seen the other nominees in some UK screenings (had to sneak 'em in) 😏, but this one always flew under my radar somehow. I guess you could say the UK audience was left out of the party 🎉. Now they'll just have to wait till March for HBO Max to drop... not ideal timing ⏰. Anyways, some winners felt like they didn't deserve it (looking at you, Hacks) 😉.
