idk about this whole merit thing, feels like they're just trying to replace one problem with another
. i mean, diversity and inclusion are still super important for creating a fair society, but can't we find a way to balance that with acknowledging individual achievement? the idea that everyone has an equal shot at success based on merit sounds great in theory, but what about those who don't have access to the same opportunities as others? shouldn't we be focusing on ways to level the playing field rather than just relying on individual talent?
