Penalty for men accused of robbing Oakland sex buyers: Probation for one, 9 days in jail for the other

Ugh, I'm so fed up with this 🤯 situation... these guys are literally getting off scot-free for robbing people who just want some sex. I mean, come on, you get robbed and you're left feeling vulnerable and scared. It's not right that they're only serving a couple of days in jail. The system is so broken 🚫. And what really gets me is that the girl who was supposed to be in charge of this whole thing got her case dismissed because she's young. Like, isn't age supposed to count for something? 🤔 I don't think so. This whole thing just feels like a slap on the wrist to me 😒.

I'm really frustrated about this 🤯. I mean, 9 days in jail for Nicholas Lewis? That's not even enough time for him to get his life back together after he got caught robbing some old dude at a motel. And Luis Silva gets off with probation? What kind of message does that send to the rest of us? Like, it's okay to rob people who are just trying to make a buck, as long as you're not caught.

And don't even get me started on Janiya Brown Lee getting her case dismissed 🤷‍♀️. She was basically a minor accomplice, and she gets off scot-free because she's young? It just doesn't sit right with me. These sex workers are already vulnerable and marginalized - they shouldn't be taken advantage of by these guys.

I think the sentences should be harsher, you know? We need to send a message that robbing people who are trying to make a living is not okay 😡. And we need to support the victims, not just give them probation or a slap on the wrist.

Man... I just can't help but feel bad for those guys, you know? 9 days in jail is like, totally not enough for what they did 🤕. I mean, I get that the system's trying to give them a second chance and all, but nine days ain't gonna cut it when you're talkin' about robbers who prey on people just tryna get some love 💔.

And can we talk about how messed up the whole situation is? These guys are basically takin' advantage of these women who are already doin' God knows what to make ends meet 🤑. It's like, they're preying on someone who's already in a vulnerable spot, and then they get all mad when they get caught? Not cool, bro 😒.

I guess what I'm sayin' is that while I feel bad for 'em, the sentences don't seem too harsh either. I mean, probation's still better than jail time, but at the same time... nine days just doesn't seem like enough punishment for what they did 🤷‍♂️.

I don't usually comment but... it's wild how sometimes you feel like the system is just trying to help people get back on their feet, ya know? I mean, Lewis and Silva are both 31 and 24, respectively - they're not kids anymore. Nine days in jail for a guy who allegedly robbed someone over 60? That's basically a Sunday stroll 😒. And yeah, the fact that Janiya Brown Lee had her case dismissed because she was young is pretty messed up too. I don't think that's what we mean by "vulnerable to manipulation" 🤷‍♂️. But at the same time, I get why the prosecutors are trying to be all about rehabilitation and whatnot. Maybe it's just a matter of finding a balance between teaching someone a lesson and giving them a second chance?
