'People once threw food at modern art!' Turner-winning sculptor Tony Cragg's amazing journey to success

I'm feeling kinda meh about the art world right now 🤔. I mean, Tony Cragg is definitely a legend and all, but can we talk about how he's being reduced to just a figure of nostalgia? He's still creating and pushing boundaries at 76, which is amazing, but do we ever see his work in museums or galleries without someone saying "oh look, another old man making art"? 🤦‍♂️

And what's up with the way artists like Cragg are expected to be experts on everything? I mean, sure, he's got a lot of knowledge and experience, but does that mean we should just take his opinions at face value without questioning them? It feels like there's a lot of gatekeeping going on in the art world right now, and it's making me wanna pull my hair out 😩.

But hey, at the end of the day, Tony Cragg is still making art that sparks conversations and challenges people to think differently. So let's not forget about him just because he's old 🙃. Let's celebrate his contributions to modern sculpture and keep his ideas alive! 💡

I gotta say 🤔, Tony Cragg is definitely not the only artist who gets that whole "being ignored by gallery-goers" thing 😂. I mean, have you seen those Instagram influencers taking selfies with art installations? Like, what's up with that? Anyway, back to Cragg – it's cool that he still pushes boundaries in his work 🎨. He's like a true innovator, even if some people might say his style is getting a bit old 🤷‍♂️. But honestly, I think his stuff is pretty thought-provoking 🤯. And can we talk about how underrated arts programs are? It's crazy that someone like Cragg has to advocate for them, considering how much he's accomplished already 🙌. All in all, Tony Cragg is a genius in my book 💡!

Love this guy's energy 🤩! I mean, 76 and still pushing boundaries? That's dedication 💪! His experiences growing up in Liverpool during the Thatcher period totally shaped his art – I can see why he'd want to explore themes of identity and community 🇬🇧. And it's cool how he gives props to Marcel Duchamp for introducing new forms of artistic expression 🙌.

As an artist, I think it's so refreshing that he acknowledges the rise of conceptual art and is still innovating – not trying to fit into some pre-made mold 🎨. And can we talk about his phone screen full of scribbled ideas? Genius 💡! We should all be inspired by someone who's passionate enough to make time for creativity in their 70s 🙌.

It's also so important that he advocates for arts programs – education is key, right? 📚. And I love how he wants art to bring people together – that's what it's all about, innit? Connection and understanding 🤝. Can't wait to see what Tony Cragg comes up with next! 🎨👀
