READ: Trump indictment and statement of facts related to hush money payment | CNN Politics

Former US President Donald Trump has been charged with a multitude of felony counts, encompassing over three dozen charges in total, as revealed in an indictment unsealed on Tuesday. The document outlines 34 felony counts against the former president.

According to the unsealed indictment, Trump is accused of violating campaign finance laws and making false statements under the US Constitution. The charges stem from a hush money payment made by his former lawyer Michael Cohen during his presidency, which was intended to silence adult film actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 over claims she had an affair with Trump.

The statement of facts accompanying the indictment provides further details on the allegations against Trump. According to the document, Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, informed him about the $130,000 payment made by Cohen and warned him that it could be considered a campaign contribution from a corporation. The indictment states that Trump knew this information but knowingly used campaign funds for the payment.

Furthermore, the statement of facts alleges that in 2018, Trump instructed his former Attorney General Jeff Sessions to rescind the Department of Justice's policy requiring candidates to disclose their foreign campaign contributions. This was allegedly an attempt to shield himself from any potential scrutiny over the hush money payments.

The charges against Trump have significant implications for the country, given his influence on US politics and his attempts to undermine investigations into his administration.

This is getting crazy 🤯. Like, I always thought he'd face consequences eventually, but three dozen felony counts? That's a whole lotta trouble 😬. It makes sense that they charged him with violating campaign finance laws, that's just basic stuff you're supposed to know.

And honestly, it's kinda weird that he knew about the payment and still went through with it 🤷‍♂️. I guess you could say he learned a valuable lesson from this: don't mess with the law or try to silence people who are talking out of school 💁‍♀️.

This is gonna be super interesting to see how it all plays out, especially with his influence on politics 😬. Hopefully, he'll face justice and show everyone that you can't just get away with stuff like this 💯.

📰 this is insane... like how could he think it's okay to break all these rules? 🤯 i mean, we've had politicians embezzle funds before but this level of corruption is just mind-boggling. And the fact that he knew the payment was campaign money and still did it shows a clear disregard for the law. 😡 as a nation, we should be appalled by his actions, especially considering all the investigations into his administration were shut down or watered down because of him. 🚫 this just goes to show how one person's power can be abused and it's up to us to hold them accountable. 💪

Just heard about this 🤯... seems like Trump's in some serious hot water now 😬. I mean, 34 felony counts? That's a lot of trouble 🔒. And it all started over that hush money payment for Stormy Daniels? Wild 🤪. Can't believe he thought he could just get away with this and still be in power 💥. The fact that his lawyer told him about the potential campaign contribution but Trump still went through with it, that's some shady stuff 😳. And now the country is stuck dealing with all these implications... what a mess 🤯!

man this is a whole thing 🤯 I dont no about trump but it sounds like he's in some serious trouble 💔 3 dozen felony counts is like, a lot of charges lol. i feel bad for michael cohen tho, he's already gone through so much with that whole stormy daniels situation 😩 and now trump is facing all these allegations too. it's like, you can't even go back on your word in politics without getting caught 🙅‍♂️ anywayz i hope justice is served and all parties involved get the help they need ❤️

this is a really tricky situation... think about it, trump's actions seem pretty shady but at the same time, he's still got a huge following and people love him 🤔. i'm not sure if 34 felony counts are entirely fair or not - i mean, he did break campaign finance laws and all that... but is it really that simple? what about the whole Russia thing? didn't he get acquitted on those charges? i don't know what to think... part of me wants to call him out for his actions but another part thinks he's just a victim of circumstance 🤷‍♂️.

man I think people are getting a bit harsh on trump already... 34 felony counts is like, a lot but lets put this in perspective he's been going through a wild trial and all these charges are coming out of nowhere... maybe its a good idea for him to get some new lawyers or something lol i mean come on, the fact that he got a team of super experienced lawyers to take on the case is already a testament to his financial influence. it would be great if we could keep things in perspective and focus on the facts rather than just throwing all our emotions at this situation 🤔
