Illinois opting in to the tax credit scholarship program is like choosing sides on a big issue . On one hand, competition among schools can improve learning outcomes and make public education better for everyone. But, on the other hand, you gotta think about the underdogs - students from low-income families who might not have access to private school options anyway . If Illinois opts in, it's like saying every kid has an equal shot at success, which sounds good but what if that just benefits those with more resources?
omg, can we pls revamp this layout ? its like a jumbled mess of news and stuff. how about categorizing everything under main sections or something? i feel like some articles are lumped in with others that have no relation to each other . and btw, what's up with the mini crossword ? is it supposed to be relevant to anything?
I think IL should def opt in to this tax credit schol program tho . it's all about givin ppl a choice & makin education better for every kid, regardless of where they come from. we need more options & better funding 4 our public schools
I'm not sure what's more worrying, the fact that they're building an athletic center and affordable housing at two shuttered CPS schools or that it's just another example of how our education system is being propped up by Band-Aid solutions. It's all just a distraction from the real issues. What's to stop this from just becoming another gentrification effort, pushing out long-time residents and small businesses? I'm just waiting for the inevitable price tag to come out and see how much this is really going to benefit anyone but the wealthy few.
