I mean come on VAR is like the ultimate buzzkill right now 
. One minute it's saving lives by spotting that dodgy pen, next minute it's ruining the game with a dodgy call and everyone's up in arms 
. I get it, errors happen but can't we just have a human ref for once? You know how it used to be, you trusted your instincts and let the game flow 
. Now we've got these machines making decisions that can change the course of the game and no one knows why or how they made those calls 
. It's like the refs are just following some fancy algorithm that only a few people understand 
. And don't even get me started on player safety... what's the point of having all these rules if we're not gonna follow them to the letter? I mean, seriously, can't we just chill and enjoy the game for once?

! I mean, I get where they're coming from that it's not perfect, but think about how much safer it's made the game 
. A goal being disallowed because of a mic'd up ref is just crazy 
. It's all about consistency, right? But at the same time, sometimes you gotta trust the refs 
. I'm all for innovation, and VAR has come a long way, but maybe it's time to fine tune it? Like, how about we use it more in certain games, like when there's been a clear foul or something? The thing is, with any new tech, you're gonna have teething issues

also player safety is super important - I mean we've seen some crazy injuries in football over the years and it's a shame that some players don't get the protection they need... 
I'm not sure about extending VAR more though - sometimes it feels like it's just picking up on minor mistakes rather than actual major errors...
