Report: Eagles hiring former Buccaneers OC Josh Grizzard to be passing game coordinator

Eagles Look to Revamp Passing Game with Former Buccaneers Coach Josh Grizzard

The Philadelphia Eagles are making a move to revamp their passing game, hiring former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard as the team's new passing game coordinator. According to reports from ESPN, this appointment comes after Grizzard interviewed twice for the vacant position of offensive coordinator, which ultimately went to Sean Mannion.

Grizzard brings a wealth of experience in coaching the offense, having played safety at Yale before transitioning to coaching. His resume boasts an impressive nine years of NFL coaching experience, including one year as an offensive coordinator with the Buccaneers last season.

The Bucs had an explosive offense under Grizzard's leadership in 2024, but took a step back in 2025 due to various injuries. While it's unclear how much of an impact Grizzard's hiring will have on the Eagles' passing game, his experience working alongside some of the league's top offenses could be beneficial.

Grizzard joins Mannion, who is relatively young and in his third year as an NFL coach. Despite Mannion's impressive coaching credentials, Grizzard brings a level of expertise that could help kickstart an Eagles offense that struggled to find its footing last season.

The appointment of Grizzard highlights the Eagles' willingness to take risks on young coaches with potential. As the team looks to revamp their passing game, this move could be just what they need to take their offense to the next level.

omg i think this is super exciting news!!! 🤩 I've been a huge fan of Josh Grizzard since he was at Yale back in the day... lol who would've thought he'd end up coaching in the nfl tho? 😂 i'm curious to see how this will play out, esp with sean mannion at the helm... hopefully they can fix that offense which was so meh last season 🤕 i love how grizzard brings that experience and expertise tho, it's like a breath of fresh air for the eagles 🌿 fingers crossed he can whip their passing game into shape 💪

I don’t usually comment but... I think it's dope that the Eagles are giving Josh Grizzard a shot. He's got that experience and knows how to get it done on the field 🤯. The Buccaneers had some great seasons under him, so if he can bring that same magic to Philly, it could be huge. Mannion's still young and hungry, but having Grizzard as his right-hand man could help calm things down a bit. Maybe this is exactly what the Eagles need - someone to balance out their offense and get them scoring more points 📈.

I'm low-key stoked that the Eagles are giving Josh Grizzard a shot 🤔. I mean, who wouldn't want to tap into some of the league's top offenses? It's like, they're taking a calculated risk on someone with actual experience 👊. And let's be real, their passing game was pretty meh last season 💔. I'm not saying Grizzard's gonna fix everything overnight, but it's about time the Eagles took a chance on someone who knows what they're doing 🔥. Maybe this is just what they needed to shake things up and get that offense firing on all cylinders 🔄. Bring it on! 👍

Grizzard gotta bring that fire to Philly ASAP 🚀💥 he was a key player in Bucs' explosion last season and if he can get Eagles' O-line sorted out, watchout NFL 😎

omg I'm so hyped about Josh Grizzard joining the Eagles!!! 🤩 He's got experience and skills that will definitely help revamp the passing game 💪 The Bucs' offense was on fire last season, so I'm curious to see what kind of magic he'll bring to Philly 🎨 Mannion is a great coach, but having Grizzard on board is like adding an extra piece to the puzzle 🤝 Can't wait to see how this all plays out! 💥

omg i'm so hyped about Josh Grizzard joining the Eagles!!! 🤩 he's got that Buccaneers magic going on and i think it'll translate really well to Philly's offense 🗽️ i mean, Sean Mannion is cool and all but grizzard has that x-factor what i love about this move too is how it shows the team's willingness to take risks on young coaches... 💡 i'm predicting big things from Grizzard & the Eagles' new passing game 📈
