Republican senator shifts Trump insult toward Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller

Senator Tillis Fires Back at Trump, Shifts Focus from Himself to Noem and Miller

Republican Senator Thom Tillis of North Carolina has responded to President Donald Trump's personal attack by shifting the focus to Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy Stephen Miller. In an interview with ABC News, Tillis said he is "thrilled" about being labeled a "loser" by the president, implying that this remark makes him qualified to be the next Homeland Security secretary or senior adviser to the president.

Tillis' comment comes after Noem faced growing calls for her resignation following two deadly shootings involving federal immigration agents. The senator from North Carolina has joined other Republicans and Democrats in calling for her ouster amid concerns about ICE tactics. Tillis, however, took a swipe at Noem and Miller, saying they are exhibiting "incompetence" due to the recent strife in Minneapolis.

The White House quickly responded to Tillis' comments, stating that Stephen Miller is one of President Trump's most trusted and longest-serving aides. The administration also shared previous comments made by Trump expressing confidence in Noem's abilities, including her handling of border security. However, some lawmakers, like Republican Senator Susan Collins of Maine, have called for an independent investigation into the recent ICE shooting deaths.

With a Friday deadline looming to fund DHS, Democrats are seeking to attach constraints on ICE operations. Lawmakers will face increasing pressure to address these issues as the nation grapples with rising tensions and deadly shootings involving federal immigration agents.

I feel like Tillis is trying to deflect attention from himself, isn't he? 🤔 I mean, who needs to take personal responsibility for our actions when we can point fingers at others? It's like when you're in a relationship and your partner does something wrong, instead of owning up to it, you blame the other person. Not cool, Thom! 😒

This whole situation is a perfect example of how politicians will do whatever it takes to get ahead. They'll say one thing to appease their base and another thing to make themselves look good. It's like they think we're all just going to buy what they're selling.

But you know what? We need to hold them accountable for their actions, even if it means pointing out their flaws. Because let's face it, we can't change the world by letting our leaders get away with being dishonest and incompetent. 💪

I'm thinking, Trump's going for the old "distract from your own mess" tactic again 🤯. Newsflash: it's not working! Tillis is basically saying "Hey, let's talk about you, Donald" instead of addressing his own shortcomings. I mean, come on, senator's getting all fired up because Trump called him a loser? It's like he's trying to prove a point, but really, he's just playing right into Trump's hands 😂.

The real issue here is Noem and Miller's handling of ICE operations. I'm not buying the White House spin that they're being unfairly targeted for their performance. The fact remains, there have been two deadly shootings involving federal immigration agents, and now lawmakers are calling for an independent investigation 🤔. If Democrats can attach constraints on ICE operations to the DHS funding bill, that's a major win for accountability. Tillis might want to focus on being a leader in Congress instead of playing politics with his colleagues 👊

idk how ppl think tillis is qualified 2 b homeland sec tho 🤔 he's just tryna shift the attention from himself 2 others, still not convinced he's got the right skills 4 the job 💼 what about all them calls 4 noem's resignation? shouldn't he be focusing on that instead of trying 2 deflect? 🤷‍♂️

🤔 I'm trying not to take sides here but honestly it feels like we're all getting caught in the crossfire 🚨. Tillis' response might have been a bit of a distraction tactic, if you ask me 🤷‍♂️. But at the same time, his comment about Noem and Miller being incompetent does raise some valid concerns 💡. It's clear that there are serious issues with ICE tactics and we need to figure out a way to address them without politicizing the whole thing 🤝. Can't we all just try to have a calm discussion about how to improve things instead of resorting to personal attacks? 😔

omg u guys i cant believe tillis is tryin to shift the focus from himself to noem & miller lol like what a desperate move! 🤣 but for real though, its all about him right now. he's just tryin to deflect from his own mess but we know it's true. noem's situation is super sketchy and i think she should be held accountable 4 her role in ICE's deadly shootings 🚨💥 tillis thinks he's qualified 2 be homeland sec sec? please dont @ me 😂. i'm still waitin 4 the next shoe 2 drop in this drama.

I'm so stoked that Tillis is finally talking about what matters most - ICE & border security 🚨🔒! Noem & Miller have been getting way too much attention lately, but let's be real, they're the ones who need to explain themselves. I mean, come on, two deadly shootings in Minneapolis? That's like, major red flag 🔴. I'm not saying Tillis is a better choice or anything, but at least he's on the right track 🚂. The WH trying to spin Noem as competent? Please, we've seen her in action. And what's up with the White House defending Miller? Doesn't he have some skeletons in his closet? 🕵️‍♂️

🤔 so Tillis tries to shift focus from himself to Noem and Miller... but honestly, it's kinda hard to see him as a hero after making that comment about being a "loser" 🙄 what if he was trying to distract us from his own involvement in this whole thing? 👀 anyway, it's all about the ICE shootings right now... it's like, what even is going on with our immigration policies? 🤯 and now Democrats are trying to attach those constraints to DHS funding... hopefully they actually do something to address these issues 💪

idk why tillis is trying 2 turn attention 2 noem & miller instead of addressing his own mess 🤷‍♂️ like, if u wanna trash trump, at least try 2 do it w/o lookin like a joke urself lol 😂 btw, i got more faith in collins' call 4 an investigation than tillis trying 2 be all heroic 👮‍♂️

🙏 I'm not surprised that Tillis is trying to shift focus away from himself after taking a hit from Trump 🤯. But, honestly, can't they all just calm down and talk about the real issues at hand? The recent ICE shooting deaths are super concerning and we need some real action on this 🚨. It's not about who's getting the next job or who's a "loser" 🤷‍♂️. Let's focus on keeping our communities safe and figuring out how to improve these tragedies 💕.

I'm just worried that this whole situation is getting out of hand 🤕. I mean, Tillis shifts focus to Noem and Miller after Trump goes after him? It's all a bit too much for me... 😬. As a senator, Tillis should be focusing on finding solutions rather than playing politics. And what's with the emphasis on ICE tactics in Minneapolis - can't we just try to have a rational discussion about immigration reform without resorting to blaming certain people or groups? 🤔. I'd love to see some bipartisan effort here and get some real progress made before the Friday deadline... ⏰.

🤔 I'm so done with this whole thing... Tillis is playing the victim card big time by trying to shift focus away from himself and onto Noem and Miller. Like, if you're going to take a swipe at someone, own it! 🙄 Instead of deflecting attention from his own questionable record, he's trying to make himself look like some kind of hero just because Trump called him a "loser". It's not gonna work, Tillis... folks see right through that. 😒 And can we talk about the real issue here - the rising tensions and deadly shootings involving federal immigration agents? We need to be focusing on finding solutions and holding people accountable, not playing partisan politics. 💔

lol @ Tillis trying to deflect from himself 🤣, I feel like he's just mad bc he got roasted by Trump 😂. I don't think Noem or Miller are that incompetent, maybe they're just not doing a good enough job of handling the situation? 🤔 Tillis is literally shifting focus away from his own flaws and onto someone else's back 👊. And now the WH is trying to defend them, which is weird since Trump already called out Noem as " competent" 🤷‍♂️, maybe he was just trolling us 😜. It's gonna be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out, especially with DHS funding running out ⏰

I'm so done with this whole situation 🤯. Tillis trying to deflect attention from himself by attacking Noem and Miller? Please, he's just trying to save his own skin 🙅‍♂️. Meanwhile, the real issue at hand is the incompetence of our immigration system - especially ICE's handling of these tragic shootings 💔. I think we need an independent investigation, not just politicians spewing rhetoric 🗣️. And what's with all these personal attacks? Can't they focus on fixing the problems instead of trying to tear each other down? 😩 The real winners here are just the folks suffering at the hands of a broken system...

Wow 😲 This is getting crazy! I'm all about those Senate politics but this is like a real-life game of Risk - who's gonna be next? Noem, Miller or Tillis? 🤯 Interesting that Tillis is trying to shift focus from himself to others... not sure how well that'll play out. The pressure on Congress to get DHS funding done by Friday is super high... gotta keep an eye on this one 👀

🤔 Tillis thinks being called a "loser" is a compliment? He's got some nerve, asking for the top spot at DHS when he can't even handle his own Senate duties 🙄. Meanwhile, Noem gets roasted by her colleagues and Tillis decides to play victim... meanwhile, ICE is killing people left and right and no one's talking about it 💔. What's good for Tillis isn't good enough for the American public 👎

I'm literally fuming about this whole situation 🤯! It's so disheartening to see both sides of the aisle attacking each other instead of focusing on finding solutions for these real-life crises. Like, can we please just put our differences aside for one second and address the fact that these ICE shooting deaths are AWFUL and need to be taken seriously? 🙏

And what's with Tillis trying to deflect from himself to Noem and Miller? It's like he thinks being called a "loser" makes him qualified for a top job? Newsflash, Thom: it doesn't! And calling out Noem and Miller without knowing the whole story is just reckless. We need transparency and accountability, not armchair quarterbacking.

The White House trying to spin this as an attack on competence by Tillis... please 🙄. We all know that's just a weak attempt to deflect attention from their own failures. And what about Collins calling for an independent investigation? Now that's a step in the right direction! 💡

Ugh, I'm so done with the politicization of everything. Can't we just have some common sense and compassion here? 🤷‍♀️ The clock is ticking, and it's time for our leaders to put country over party 🕰️.

OMG I cant believe tillis is trying to shift the focus to noem and miller!! it just makes him look like he's trying to save his own skin from trump's attack 🤦‍♂️! the thing is, tillis can't even talk about himself without getting sidetracked? what a total red herring! meanwhile, everyone knows that ICE shootings are super serious and needs to be taken seriously 💔. I mean, noem and miller need to take responsibility for their actions (or lack thereof) not try to deflect attention from themselves 🙅‍♂️. it's gonna be super interesting to see how this whole thing plays out in the coming days! 🔥

I'm not surprised by this latest power play from Senator Tillis 🤔. Trump's always been known for trying to distract from his own problems 😂. But seriously, this whole thing is getting pretty out of hand. Noem and Miller are taking a lot of heat for their roles in the ICE shootings, and now it seems like Tillis is trying to deflect attention by throwing shade at them 🚫. Meanwhile, no one's talking about the real issue: how can we prevent these kinds of tragedies from happening in the first place? 🤷‍♀️ The fact that DHS funding is on the line is just a ticking time bomb – it's only a matter of time before something blows up. We need to focus on finding solutions, not on petty politics 👊

This is getting crazy! 🤯 Tillis is trying to deflect from being roasted by Trump by going after Noem and Miller? Like, isn't he the one who's supposed to be focusing on himself if he wants to be relevant in this conversation? 😂 And what's with him saying Noem and Miller are incompetent? Hasn't he been pretty quiet about these ICE shooting deaths until now? 🤔 It just seems like Tillis is trying too hard to stay in the spotlight. And now the White House is all over it, saying Miller is one of Trump's most trusted aides... sounds legit! 💯
