Resolution festival review – admin hell, an epic club night and flamenco voguing

Resolution festival showcases trio of dance works united by intriguing concepts that explore in-between states. One notable piece, Interchange, is a solo choreographed by Seirian Griffiths, which takes the audience on a journey through Michael's memories as he navigates his emotions and confronts his past.

The dance style for this piece is characterized by its quicksilver transitions and strikingly well-acted moments of torment. The use of hip-hop stylings adds a sense of fluidity to the performance, with Griffiths effortlessly executing headstands and other acrobatic moves. However, some might find that the dance could benefit from tightening up its movements to achieve a more seamless experience.

Another standout piece is Archive/Flesh/Echoes by Chinese choreographer Qi Song, which takes the form of a rave-inspired clubbing scene. The performance features an ethereal score and a corps of dancers who become completely immersed in their music. While the dance itself has some generic elements that detract from its overall impact, it effectively captures the energy and momentum of a night out.

The final piece, Entrecuerpos by Isadora D'Héloïsa, is a fusion of flamenco and voguing styles that explores themes of marginalization and resistance. While the dance never quite achieves a unified whole, it features some inventive moments such as skirt-ography that transforms ruffles into capes and camouflage.

Throughout these three pieces, each dancer brings their unique voice to the stage, navigating complex emotions and identities with confidence and poise. Overall, Resolution festival showcases an exciting trio of new choreography that is sure to leave a lasting impression on its audience.

🤩 I loved watching the performances at this festival! I think what really stood out was how each piece explored these in-between states - like Interchange, which took me on this emotional journey with Michael 🌊. And Archive/Flesh/Echoes had that infectious energy that just got me moving 💃! Although Entrecuerpos had its quirks, I adored the creativity of those skirt-ography moves 🔥. The dancers were all so talented and brought their own vibe to each piece, it was amazing to see! 🌈

I loved this festival, it was so inspiring to see all these talented dancers bringing their own unique styles & emotions to the stage! 🌟 Interchange, for me, was super powerful - Seirian Griffiths' choreo was like a rollercoaster of feelings, I was right there with Michael, feeling every emotion he's going through. 😊 Qi Song's rave scene was so much fun, it was like you were actually dancing the night away! 💃 And Isadora D'Héloïsa's fusion of flamenco & voguing? Mind. Blown. 👏 The thing that really stood out to me, though, was how all three pieces came together - each one is like a thread in this beautiful tapestry of emotions & identities. It just goes to show that there's beauty in the messy, in-between moments... 🌈

OMG you guys, I just watched this festival at school 🤩 and it was literally so inspiring! The dance pieces were all so different but each one told such unique stories 📚. I loved how they explored emotions and identities in such a raw way 💖. Seirian's piece Interchange gave me major feels, you know? It was like watching Michael's story unfold right before my eyes 🤯. And Qi Song's rave-inspired piece Archive/Flesh/Echoes got the whole auditorium pumped up 💃🏽! But, I gotta say, Isadora's voguing fusion in Entrecuerpos was a bit hit or miss for me 😐. Still, it was amazing to see all those dancers bring their own flair to the stage 🌈. Can't wait to write my essay on this performance for Lit class 📝!

🤩 I love how the festival highlights different dance styles and concepts! Interchange sounds like such a powerful piece, and I'm intrigued by the idea of exploring in-between states through Michael's memories 🕰️. Qi Song's rave-inspired clubbing scene seems like so much fun to watch - who doesn't love a good party vibe? 💃🏻 But for me, it was Entrecuerpos that really caught my attention, especially with its inventive moments like skirt-ography 🎨... and I gotta say, the diversity of styles and themes is what makes this festival so special! 🌈 The only thing I'd change is maybe add more cohesion between some pieces - but overall, it's a solid lineup 💯.

omg I'm totally obsessed with this new dance festival 🤩! Seirian Griffiths' Interchange piece gave me all the feels - the way she weaves through those emotional states is like, so raw and honest 💔. And can we talk about Qi Song's Archive/Flesh/Echoes? that rave vibe is EVERYTHING 🔥! It's cool how it captures that energy and momentum of a night out, even if some parts feel a bit generic 🤷‍♀️. Isadora D'Héloïsa's Entrecuerpos has me intrigued too - the skirt-ography part is genius 😂! what I love most about this festival is how each piece comes together to create something unique and thought-provoking... can't wait to see more from these talented choreographers 💃

🤩 I think this festival is getting a bad rap cuz some people are dissin' it cuz they don't get the vibe 🎨. Like, Interchange is a real emotional rollercoaster and Qi Song's rave scene is infectious 💃. And yeah, Isadora D'Héloïsa might not have nailed the whole thing, but her skirt-ography was EVERYTHING 🤯. The dancers bring so much heart to these performances it's impossible not to be moved 💕. Can't we just appreciate the artistry and creativity instead of nitpicking every little detail? 🙄

omg I loved this festival!!! 🤩🎉 Seirian Griffiths' Interchange piece gave me all the feels - it's like they're literally dancing through Michael's emotions 💔😭 and Qi Song's Archive/Flesh/Echoes was SO immersive! 🌃 I'm not sure about Entrecuerpos though, it felt a bit disjointed at times... but hey, that one inventive skirt-ography move tho 😂. Can't wait to see what the choreographers come up with next!!! 💖

I'm still reeling from what I just watched at the Resolution festival 🤯! The energy in each piece was electric, but for me, Interchange really stole the show 💃. Seirian Griffiths' choreography had this captivating quality to it – like you're being pulled through a whirlpool of emotions, and Michael's journey is both beautiful and brutal at the same time 😩. What I loved most about the festival was how each piece seemed to tap into its own unique vibe, whether it was the pulsating energy of Archive/Flesh/Echoes or the fiery passion of Entrecuerpos 🔥. Qi Song's rave-inspired clubbing scene had me moving like I was on the dance floor alongside those dancers 😂! And what about Isadora D'Héloïsa's use of skirt-ography? Genius! 🤩 The only thing that would've taken it to the next level is if they'd ironed out some of the transitions in Interchange, but overall... WOW 💥

I'm loving the vibe of this festival! 🤩 The way they've woven together these three unique dance pieces is really something special. I mean, you have Interchange, which is like a emotional rollercoaster, and then Archive/Flesh/Echoes, which is like stepping into a rave - so different, yet both captivating in their own ways.

The thing that stood out to me was how each dancer brought their own personality to the stage, it's like they're having an actual conversation with you through movement. Entrecuerpos was my fave part because the skirt-ography idea is genius! 🤯 It's not always easy to see new choreography come together, but these three pieces really do shine.

One thing that might be worth tweaking for Interchange is maybe tightening up some of those transitions, like you said, it would make the whole performance feel more cohesive. But overall, I'm super impressed with what they've put together here! 👏

I'm not totally sold on this Resolution festival just yet... I mean, don't get me wrong, all the dance pieces sound super interesting, but I'm still skeptical about the whole "exploring in-between states" vibe 🤔. It feels like a bit of a buzzword to me - are they actually trying to say something meaningful or is it just another trendy theme? And also, what's with the rave-inspired clubbing scene? Can't they come up with something more original? 😐

I do love that each dancer brings their unique voice to the stage though, and I'm curious to see how the audience reacts to this kind of fusion of styles. The headstand moments in Interchange are insane btw 🤸‍♀️! But let's wait a bit longer before we start jumping on the Resolution festival bandwagon, okay? 🚂
