Russell Brand faces fresh UK court charges over alleged rape and sexual assault in US

The UK comedian appeared in a Westminster magistrates' court via video link from Florida on Tuesday afternoon as he faced new charges of two further sexual offences. The 50-year-old is also currently charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault, bringing the total to five original charges.

Brand previously denied allegations of rape and other forms of assault involving four women between 1999 and 2005. However, new evidence emerged last year that prompted him to be re-charged in December with a second set of sex crimes.

The two alleged offences which have been added to the list are said to have taken place in 2009.

Brand was granted bail to attend an upcoming court hearing in London and will face trial later this year at Southwark crown court.

Channel 4, along with The Sunday Times reported on allegations against Brand, following which he denied all claims stating that his relationships were consensual.
 
OMG u guys I just can't even rn I'm still trying to process everything going on with Russell Brand I feel so bad for the ppl who are coming forward and sharing their stories about what happened to them I know it's not easy to talk about this kinda thing but we gotta listen and believe them I'm not a fan of his comedy or any of his shows anymore idk how someone can be that messed up 😳💔 I've been thinking maybe he should just take responsibility for his actions instead of always denying everything like what did he do tho? 🤯👀 I don't think it's cool that the cops are re-charging him now either like, we get it Russell you messed up but now there are more people who might be affected 💕 anyway I'm just hoping justice is served and ppl can finally move on from this stuff 💖

omg isnt this so disturbing another powerful guy in the spotlight gettin accused of some serious stuff cant we have a conversation about consent without it turning into a rape trial lol anyway think its time for us to shift the focus from blame & shame to actual support & healing for the victims of these alleged crimes

I'm gonna be honest, it's super sad to see someone like Russell Brand go through this, ya know? He was always good at making us laugh and talk about some pretty deep stuff 🤯. man... just when you think you know someone's whole story, right? Russell Brand, I mean... I've been following this for a bit and it's wild how the narrative changes. First, he's denying all allegations, then new evidence pops up and suddenly he's re-charged with more crimes. it's like, what's going on here?

I'm not gonna sit here and judge him or anything, but five alleged sex crimes? that's a lot to take in. I mean, Channel 4 did some reporting last year that brought all this back to the surface... I guess you could say they were trying to get truth out there.

anyway, he's got bail now and is set for trial later this year... wish him luck, right? 🤞
 
I'm so worried about Russell Brand right now 🤕. I mean, he's been through some stuff in the past already, you know? He was in rehab like three times, and then he became a comedian to cope with it all 💔. And now this new stuff comes out, it's just... ugh.

I remember watching him on TV back in the day, and I thought he was hilarious 🤣. But now, it's just so sad. He's still denying everything, but what if he's not telling the truth? What if these women really were hurt by him?

It's all just so messy 😩. And to think that Channel 4 is reporting on it, it's like they're keeping an eye on him 24/7 👀. I feel bad for his family too - they must be going through a tough time.

OMG, just saw the news about Russell Brand getting new charges 🤯. I feel bad for him and also kinda angry that these allegations keep popping up again 🙄. I mean, even if he's got a good lawyer now and all that, it's still super tough to deal with accusations like this... especially when they're coming out of nowhere 15 years later 💔. And honestly, no matter what happened in the past, it's not about whether or not his relationships were consensual... it's about what he allegedly did 🤕. I wish him all the best, but at the same time, I hope he takes responsibility for whatever happened and seeks help if needed 💯.
 
Ugh I'm so done with Russell Brand right now 🤯💔 He's always been a bit of a joke to me but this is just sickening. Like what even is the deal with these allegations? One minute he's making us laugh and the next we find out he's allegedly done some super serious stuff to women 🙅‍♂️ I don't know how you can be so reckless with someone else's consent, it's not funny at all. And now he's denying again but like, even if he says his relationships were consensual doesn't change the fact that people have come forward saying otherwise 💁‍♀️👀 The system needs to catch up and take these things seriously before someone gets hurt, you feel?
